Hello!
I was feeling helpful today so I decided to create a Guide on how to make your Oneplus X as similar as possible to the new Google Pixel phones, software wise.
So here we go:
Requirements
Code:
[LIST=1]
[*]Oneplus X (You never know)
[*][URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/guide-update-bootloader-firmware-to-t3478917"][B]New Bootloader[/B][/URL]
[*][URL="https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-onyx-how-to-unlock-bootloader-install-custom-recovery-root-take-efs-backup-more.401713/"]Unlocked Bootloader[/URL]
[*][URL="https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-onyx-how-to-unlock-bootloader-install-custom-recovery-root-take-efs-backup-more.401713/"]custom recovery installed (I'll be using TWRP)[/URL]
[*]minimal tech savyness
[*][I]SD Card (Optional but RECOMMENDED)[/I]
[/LIST]
Step 1erforming a backup of Data
I would recommend you backed up your data because this process WILL wipe it.
Here is a guide on how to backup your device
Step 2: Downloading ZIPs
Okay, so here is the annoying part, downloading the actual ZIPs that we're going to be installing on your device. I'll do the hard part, finding all the links
Rom: Recommended version
If you are using my recommended version (first link) please make sure you have updated your bootloader to the latest version.
Google Apps (Play Store etc): http://opengapps.org/
Please check these boxes for the best experience: arm | 7.1 | nano
SuperSU: https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
Google Assistant: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69074667&postcount=112"
Please download all three files provided in the download page
*Optional* Google Launcher / Dialer / Bootanimation / Ringtones: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/google-pixel-experience-launcher-dialer-t3478907
After you downloaded those files, please move them to your SD CARD. If you don't have one, just move them as far as possible upwards.
Step 3: Booting into custom recovery
This is probably the easiest step, simply power off the Device and perform the following action:
Long press the POWER BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN BUTTON until you arrive into recovery.
Step 4:Wiping everything
Unfortunately, because we are installing a new ROM, we can't keep all our data because it would conflict with the new version.
On the GUI of your chosen recovery, find the WIPE option and wipe System and Data. Make sure you don't wipe the place where you downloaded the ZIPs and where you may have backed up your device.
Step 5:Installing ZIPs
Navigate to the "Install" section on your Custom Recovery and "flash" one by ALL the Zips we downloaded. Please follow this order:
Code:
[LIST=1]
[*] Rom | Cyanogenmod 14
[*] SuperSU
[*] Google Apps
[*]The all-in-one ZIP that includes Google Launcher / Dialer / Boot animation / Ringtones
[*] Google Assistant
[I]If you are not sure about a ZIP, I would invite you to look at the forum thread's steps.[/I]
[/LIST]
Step 6:Done!
There you go! You have completed the installation process. You should be able to boot up the device and restore the backup. If you have problems. I'd invite you to look at the replies and if you can't find anything there, feel free to ask me.
Code:
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated in any way with the geniuses who created those ZIP files.
I am merely trying to be helpful to the average user who is not very knowing in this field.
I would also like to say that I am not responsible for anything that could happen to your phone.
Your phone could be blow up* and start World War 3, that wouldn't be my problem.
[I]*It shouldn't though.[/I]

As of 18-01-17 this thread is outdated but should work
Will update it and remove this message as soon as possible.
So for your opion better pixel luncher or cyanogenmod? In your Oneplus X the luncher or Google Assistant have bugs?
Edit: you need to rewrite everything because in the mobile version is all a mess.
Looks great on my mobile browser thanks for this. Will give it a go when I have time. Side note this doesn't require certain Google app version?
Guide works perfect ! Except the boot animation scaled incorrectly (not your problem)
Flashing this boot animation correctly scaled for me https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1ei1NyHKTpuSGhyYTNhRGxVVWc/view
Would this work on Exodus 6.0 Rom? Or any other ROM except for CM?
Thanks for sharing this !
Great to see the community coming up with hacks and mods for us with an old chipset!
Additionally you can try the Live Pixel Wallpapers back-ported to ARM & 6.0 by another developer.

Imo the Pixel Launcher is better. The Assistant and the launcher work fine for me .
And I tried going on a mobile device, the text looks fine

Any time I try to use Assistant from "Ok Google" keyword, it asks me to retrain my voice - have you noticed this ?
The bodge fix workaround is to use Tasker + AutoInput to always click "Later" when it asks you to retrain and it takes you straight to the assistant.
I'd be interested to hear whether you had a similar issue

Exodus 6.0 is Marshmallow.
The guide recommends CM14 because it's based on Nougat. The guide will mostly work on the other Nougat based ROMs too but not M based ROMs

Hi guys! Here is some guide how to get Android P appearance on our Nexus 5 devices.
You need to have:
1) Rootless Pixel 2 Launcher by paphonb
https://github.com/paphonb/PixelLauncherModV6/releases (download latest release)
better to install it like system app instead default launcher
2) Android P-ify module by paphonb
https://github.com/paphonb/AndroidP-ify/releases (download latest release)
It's a Xposed module, so firstly you have to install latest Xposed Framework V90-beta3 and Xposed Installer
3) Pi Light [substratum] by Christopher Kardas
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.HarshV23.PiLight (for Light theme)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.HarshV23.PiDark (for Dark theme)
BE CAREFUL! This Substratum theme has some the same features like in Android P-ify, so you have enable only two features!
You need to enable:
- Android System (select Large StatusBar (Essential Ph1)) see screenshoot
- System UI (select Rounded Corners) see screenshoot
4) Navigation Bar. I use SmartBar with custom icons of buttons.
Go to Settings -> Extentions-> Navigation -> Navigation Bar;
then select SmartBar in Navigation mode and go to SmartBar settings;
after enable Edit Mode and change icons of navigation buttons using attachments below.
Also I've set navbar height to 80%.
ic_sysbar_home_dark.png + ic_sysbar_action_dark.png (for Light theme accent)
ic_sysbar_home_light.png + ic_sysbar_action_light.png (for Dark theme accent)
5) Google Product Sans font.
Install Magisk Manager and open it. Download "Google Product Sans" module, install it and reboot device.
If you want the clock widget like this - follow the post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76743037&postcount=16
All of this actions I was doing on AOSP Extended ROM V5.5 (also works fine on 5.7)
but you can try it on any other Oreo 8.1 ROM
ENJOY IT! :fingers-crossed:

First off, thank you OP for sharing this. However, some users have pointed out to me that an unofficial site was linked to share the Pi light Substratum theme I published. Could you kindly have the official Play Store link in your post, not a third party site? I don't endorse the use of APK Pure in any way. Cheers! :highfive:

I am using pixel launcher with arrow ROM. Don't know if same works with other roms or not. I used pixel launcher included in opengapps aroma and it's working fine in arrow but same is crashing on GZOSP and lineage os.
1)download pixel launcher from apkmirror and make it a system app
2)place pixel framework file in root/vendor/overlays and give correct permission
3) reboot
4) install action service app for actions in app drawer.
Link for framework file.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Fa0lIOYJ3xVHYVbgFXIUw2eUv832AqiD/view?usp=drivesdk
Credit to dev who made this framework file.i just uploded and shared it because it's not available on XDA.
Alternatively if you want a magisk module there is one in arrow os telegram group.
Here is the screenshot of pixel 3 launcher
It did success and i can install the pixel launcher normally, but i lost nightlight, hotspot and adaptive brightness
Hello,
after doing a clean install because of previous problems (dual sim not working) my device is now missing fonts. I can't see any emoji and some symbols.
I was able to fix the emojis by installing some as Magisk module but I'm unable to find symbol fonts.
See me attachment as reference. Normally there should be to arrows pointing away from English like this: < English >
If someone could provide me with the missing fonts, I would greatly appreciate it.
What version of Magisk are you using?
Use the current stable version. Some versions mess up OOS 10

Have you used oos fastboot version to install android 10? if yes, follow these steps (even if not, this method will mostly work!)
i had the same problems.
Steps:
-download 10.0.x version of OTA rom
- go to local upgrade
- install the downloaded OTA update from there.
it will fix all the font, emoji related problems.

Yeah, because it may stop the 50 threads like this one. Just explain the issue, the target audience, how to apply, and the expected results. Then link the module on Android file host like you just did.
Something like "[Magisk Module] - Font and Emoji Fix for Android 10 T-Mobile Variant"
You dont have to put it in development, you cant just post it in the General discussion thread.
Just a thought.
I did the same local upgrade thing in Oneplus 6T but now I can't login into my Oneplus Account, it is giving me an error like in below ss:
