i've found and tried every camera app but it didn't like stock camera app. Can everyone recommend for me a camera app for g531H custom rom.
I just want a picture quality isn't square like anyother camera app. Sorry because my bad english :silly:. Thank you so much
I have the grand prime with a custom ROM installed on it, and it doesn't matter what camera app you're using because the quality won't get better, it happens because Samsung has closed the camera's source vendor and the others ROMs have to use the worse APIs for you to take pictures. Conclusion, if you want max quality on pics, get back to stock original ROM.
EDIT: I was wrong about that?
Actually the drivers are same, even in custom ROMs, the camera app really matters because it depends on how the image is processed by the application. For Gran prime I recommend you to install Lineage's camera (available on apkmirror) and turn off the 'Denoise' option which makes the image to look Sharper.

Does having a custom non-Touchwiz ROM change the camera performance? Like Cyanogen mod or AOKP, I'm not entirely sure what a ROM changes. Would the quality of the other modes change (HDR, HDR video, etc)?
We'll never have sammy camera on aosp/cm. You need tw framework for it to run. Thats the only downside of aosp/cm. But honestly im on rooted stock and im loving everything about this phone. Ive ran aosp/cm on all my phones and hated touchwiz. The s4 has definately made me content for now.
ATT S4 Rooted. Beastin.
4.2.2
I understand that the Samsung camera application cannot be ported over, but is the performance of the camera still the same? Basically do pictures taken still look like the same quality? My other major question is what modes are available? Other than just normal is there HDR, night, etc.

I flashed CM 10.1 about 1 hour ago, shortly before deleting my only System files on it (DOH!). Anyway, I noticed the camera wasn't good at all in CM 10.1. I dont know if its just the way it looks, I didnt take a single picture, but I didnt like it and its one of the reasons im going back to stock.
Do you know if the camera quality will get better?
Just install a different camera app from the Play Store. I use Fotor and it takes excellent pics.

Well the camera image processing software is also pretty good from LG and they also paid for the licences and Aosp is free so they don't have an amazing camera quality like from big company's who invest lots of money in those software.
Here are some tips I can suggest you,

http://d-h.st/xR7 ( Jishnu sur 3.5 Camera for CM)
More I can't really suggest. The only remaining thing you could do then is search on the wide web for an camera app which is good but it will probably go hard since most camera apps also on playstore aren't with advanced image processing as on the LG stock camera. If you are on Cyanogenmod I suggest to also take a look at the 3.5 camera from Jishnu sur maybe. And also the others
Goodluck:good:
P.S. I don't know or they all work good also with image processing etc since I still have to decide which phone I will get myself .
Hey everybody,
besides the different image processing taking place in every camera app which in turn leads to different results in images, are AOSP custom roms capabale of taking complete advantage of the note 4 hardware (utilizing all its features like focus, shutter speeds,...)?
The answer would be comparing a pic taken with a 3rd party camera app on a stock rom vs the same pic being shot with the same 3rd party app on an AOSP rom.
3rd party camera apps on stock roms profit from all the original samsung drivers which are not present in custom roms.
Has anybody done a comparison on this? I'd be greatful for links in that case. Your personal thoughts/experiences are welcomed just the same!
Anything to help me figure out if i should get a note 4 so i can flash custom roms and have great (stock like) image results coming from a AOSP rom with specific camera apps. Or if you think that only the stock touchwiz camera app can profit from certain features (again, I'm not talking about saturation, sharpening, etc. which is done via software and can be edited in a way you/i like. I'm speaking of the actual integration of all the hardware capabilities, drivers, API,...).
Thx for your help,
greetz,
vercetti.
Hi all,
I'm going to install a custom ROM but wanted to ask a few questions first.
What's the deal with the camera? Camera quality is important to me and I've heard that custom ROMs can degrade the camera performance. What exactly happens? I don't think much of the stock camera app and so use Snap Camera instead as it has the ability to turn off noise-reduction and has way more features.
Will there be any difference using Snap on a custom ROM. Does HDR still work well?
More generally, what ROMs are good in terms of being bug free, smooth and recent Android version (7+).
Thanks
Oh, and if anyone could point me in the direction of a good guide for initial rooting and custom recovery for the 900F that would be super! :good:

Man, for me, the performance of Snap camera is better than stock, I was fear of the same, camera quality, but for me HDR and noise-reduction is much better than samsung's camera. Now I can't barely use stock roms without Snap, or Mi A2 Magisk module. It just don't have so many functions like stock one, but I don't mind for it.

Here, just make sure you're downloading files for your phone model, you can see it in "About the phone" on settings of your phone, thanks for who made that guide of the link
For the camera just use snap camera (default LineageOS app) and this mod https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-15-1-camera-supporting-60fps-120fps-t3809145
Also, for rooting G900F you just need to flash TWRP using odin and then the desired root solution, (i would recomend latest magisk)
Thanks both.
I've been using my phone on CrDroid first, then Mokee for about a week now and I think the camera is just fine.
I have done some comparison shots and there seems to be no difference between Snap Cam on stock and Snap Cam on custom rom.
The few differences I have found are in the denoising process. If you like denoising (and I don't), then the stock TouchWiz camera does a much better job of resolving detail and contrast than Snap Cam or the in built camera app of CrDroid or Mokee does. Denoising is pretty bad. However, I have recently installed Google Camera on Mokee and that seems to do a pretty good job with denoising. Alternatively you could just use an app like Snapseed to denoise photos you think need it, and get much better results.
Hi There,
one of the main reasons why I bought the S7 Edge initially was its great camera.
The reason why I haven't yet installed a Custom Rom was because I wasn't sure if the custom rom / camera app would provide the same picture-quality as the original one.
Will the Picture quality suffer from a custom camera app, or is the relevant software "build into" the chip, and therefor independent from the actual camera app?
Thanks a lot!
If a TW based ROM is used, the stock camera app can be used, so the phto quality will be the same. If you got root on this ROM you can even access more features of the camera with the Zerocam MOD.
If an AOSP base ROM is used, the quality is not equal. Samsung did not release all the libraries needed to access the hardware of the S7 camera properly. But nowadays you can reach, with third apps, the same quality of the photos as the TW based ROMs.

I have tried many of the proposed solutions to achieve good camera quality in an AOSP based ROM and can only say that none of them came even close to the quality of the stock camera. Also, the speed was not comparable.
To compare I used a test scenario with poor lighting conditions and always took the same pictures. While for instance on images taken with the stock camera one could read the text on a package, on the other images you couldn't even tell that it was text.
Any news on this? As the S7 is end of life, the TW based ROMs are also not an alternative anymore. Is there any chance to get roughly the same camera quality with a LineageOS ROM? What third party apps deliver a decent quality?
you can use google camera. lol
