Illumination and Stock - Xperia SP General

Will reflashing SP with stock ROM bring back illumination bar, or are there any 4.3 rom s which on flashing gives back the discolight. I have a UBL SP with 14.1.
I want to go back , please help

Thank you all for the silence, it worked.

to be honest , that was a pretty dumb question to ask. You're Flashing The Original Firmware/Rom/ STOCK ROM , Ofcourse it will retain all of it's original functionality.

Anyway it seems dumb questions are answered after the need for the answer has lost its meaning. Still thanks for your reply

you were mocking the community for not answering your question , which could've been answered yourself if you used little google or even your own brain if you know how to use it.

I know my questions are somewhere in the forum but there are thousands of them I hope someone kind enough to help me over here. Thanks in advance.

Help Please :/

Hey guys, I'm new to all this flashing etc. and now I wish I never started lol. I'm really worried, I USPL'd the latest energyrom and really liked it, but 1) I have severe stability problems 2) The phone won't connect to a network.
So I have a couple of questions, basically I would love to keep the energyrom so can I fix the stability problems and get the actual phone function to work? But what I'd really prefer to do is go back to my stock ROM, is this even possible ?
Note to admin: I hope this is the right section, sorry if it is not.
Note to all: Please ask for more info, if need be.
Note to all #2: Thank you very much in advance if you can help !
click the tutorial link in my signature and retrace ALL the steps to flashing to make sure you've completed them all. a non-working phone function coupled with the "green screen" is a sure sign you missed a step somewhere. and yes, the link will also direct you to the process of getting back to a stock ROM. fyi, the mods will likely close this thread so you should post further questions in the "guide to flashing" or "returning to stock ROM" threads. hope you get it sorted out.

If you do want to go back to stock rom, you should just be able to flash it as you used the USPL method you will still have the stock SPL on your phone.
From your post it seems that you did not have issues with the blue/green screen, so I presume you had the correct USPL 1.54 before you flashed. If you do want to remain with the Energy rom, it is probably best to post these queries in the thread for that rom. It is possible that these issues have been sorted out or else you just had a bad flash. Did you do a hard reset after the flash?

To have the latest and greatest, or one that fits your needs better then what your service provider thinks your needs are.

No worries man, welcome to the community Chances are however you may end up with a few 'Just search!!' answers but I understand there is almost too much info to understand out there but do check out the sticky threads at the top of the HD2 rom development forum as there is a wealth of detail there.
In answer to your question: 'why would anyone want to mod the rom or mess with it? please kindly answer it.'
There are many reasons for doing this, I assume that you come from the 'HTC probably know whats best for their phone as they made it' point of view, this is not always the case.
Let's take a real simple example: There is a limited ammount of space in internal memory and the more you can get the better and some of this space is taken up by pre-installed applications and images that you may never use and some of these can't be removed simply by deleting.
This is where 'cooking' roms comes in: In order to remove those apps you have to create a new OS image (rom) without them in (this is cooking, which is generally performed by experienced people who will publish their roms in the roms forum) and then to be able to get that on your device you need to 'flash' the cooked rom (OS image) onto your device (think of flashing as installing the OS like you would windows from CD on a PC) , and viola you have a new rom on your phone which leaves you more space in internal memory to use for yourself.
There are obviously far more complex reasons for cooking roms (speed improvements, fixes, mods and changes to the UI) but in order to keep this short and simple I've used the above example. If you want to know more check the noob tutorials in the rom forum.
Be careful however, and ensure you read all the information you can search for / find in there as there are some potential pitfalls if you don't do it properly.
Thanks prime! I got it now :]

[Q] Backing Up my Current Rom

Hey everyone, I have been looking all over the place for information on how to back up my current O2 Rom on my o2 atom life before I actually upgrade.
I did check out the wiki, and so I ask these questions XD:
is there any other way of backing up the rom aside from using the one in the wiki?
and if it is, how will i be able to use it again when I want to reflash it? :O
Thank you for helping, I'm really just new to upgrading roms and I really want to make sure I could go back to my former settings and whatnots before I actually try to upgrade (and hopefully not fail. Being a noob on these things is just too scary. XD)
Thank you again, and I so hope anyone could help

[Q] Need help Choosing rom that does not need a custom kernel

Hi all, Please forgive my ignorance... I have read through so many threads on this forum but cannot figure out which is the best ROM to put on my x8 that does not require flashing a custom kernel on.. last time i attempted that a phone was bricked. All i want is something simple, i have forgotten how to root the phone and but x-restore on but will figure that out. All i want is the newest most capable ROM that works well with everything.. including the GPS and camera, and preferably one that comes with the Google apps like Google maps etc. I liked Floyo but not sure if i should use it again..
Please could you guys advice me on the best steps forward, I really dont wanna mess with unlocking the bootloader unless i really really know how.
its an x 18 -E15i
firmware 2.1 update 1.
Baseband version
M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel version 2.6.29
[email protected] #1
build number 2.1.1.A.0.6
Once again, i am really sorry for asking something that has been asked before but i really wanna get this right !!!
loads of people here will tell you X rom is better than X rom etc etc but at the end of the day, a rom is a bit like underwear...you either like it and it fits you comfortably (and keeps your bits comfy) or you dont like it etc. so the best idea is search the dev forum for stock kernel roms and try them out it's the only way to go tbh
And before you go posting random Questions again

read the forums
GingerDX v23b, very smooth on stock kernel
