Hi, I recently cracked the screen on my phone. I bought a replacement and reconnected everything just fine. The phone was working great, but all of a sudden the power button stopped working. It still clicks and everything, but it's as if the phone doesn't detect it. The two volume buttons still work fine. Anybody know what might be causing this/how I can fix it?

Hi guys, I hope I can type this coherently.
I have a g3 wizard that I have flashed many times over the last year or so. Lately the power button has stopped working. I can get the phone to turn on by plugging it in, and then holding in the camera/voice buttons and THEN hitting the power button. It goes into the rainbow screen, and I just soft reset via the hole on the side. At that point it is on and running fine, but the power button does nothing.
The power button does nothing at all unless I plug the phone in, and then only if I go to bootloader. It seems to work just fine to do that-which is what is stumping me. I thought the button was just broken. The charge/battery lights do come on.
For now I have it set to never turn off, so I try to make sure it doesn't run too low. The battery life seems ok. Any tips? I want to be able to put the phone to sleep again...
thanks
I had an energy rom on my hd 2 until the weekend,
The phone was off so when I powerd it up the screen went straight to volume up, (like the up volume button was stuck.)
I tried doing a hard reset but couldnt get it to work, like the buttons werent working, so I reflashed with a stock rom.
Now the volume buttons , phone button and back button dont work anymore.
Even tried to put phone into bootloader mode but no joy there either.
Anyone one think this is hardware, or is it software.
Thanks for any help.
Hi,
I have a similar problem describe here. My problem seems to be a software issue cause my volume buttons work perfect on software but they don't work during startup.
i cracked my screen and it stopped working completely. the phone seemed to be working just fine as i have connected it to the projector and all seemed fine.
i have replaced the screen. initially the phone was going into safe-mode but after a couple of retries it booted normally. the issue was that the soft keys we misbehaving. the menu key was pressing itself continuously, triggering actions on screen. the phone was impossible to use. also, going to display settings i tried to turn the back light of the soft keys off but even though the option was off, the keys were still on.
the only time when the keys were behaving normally was when i was constantly having a finger on the lcd. in some way i thought there is some power drainage (which one way or another it was because the battery was runny dry quite fast).
i have tried both cyanogenmod 12.1/13 and the original firmware.
so, i've decided to replace the connector board, but... not change. i ended up disconnecting the soft keys. now i use an onscreen option to satisfy my needs. it works quite okay, but i would rather have the home button and the soft keys working.
did anyone had a similar experience? any ideas? i would avoid to spend more money with it, but i could spare some cash if necessary.
This is my very first post, so I hope you can forgive me for any mistakes.
I buyed an secondhand ZUK Z1 from eBay. Everything was fine and dandy.
But after a week I encountered a problem. Firstly the Volume Down button did not respond properly then it utterly stopped working.
I buyed spare parts (side key) from the official ZUK-Store.
These are the contacts to connect with the "motherboard"(?)
I opened the the Z1 and even replaced the side key contacts myself.
After putting everything back together and powering on, the Volume Down Button still didn't work.
Volume Up button and Power-Button works perfectly but Volume Down does not...
I can press the Button normaly and hear the *click* noise.
I guess it's either a manufacturing error or some Software detecting error. Or something burned up inside. Well I don't know.
I can't access to recovery without the Volume Key. So yeah... i'm pretty frustated.
I'm typing this to find others with the same problem and would appreciate it when somebody knows more.
The device is not rooted
ROM: CyanogenOS 12.1-YOG4PAS60J
Phone struck
I too have the same volume down key problem. Because of that the phone enters boot menu and it becomes very difficult to come out of it till the phone shows some mercy on us. Once by chance if it works then the phone works absolutely normal. But it is a potential problem.
I've had my S8 since june, and now for some reason the power button on the phone just stopped working today. Its unresponsive, holding it down does nothing, rebooting the phone over adb didnt fix it, it just plain doesnt seem to work. Any ideas on what to do?
