when i am on the phone with someone and another person is calling me i can anwer this call - unfortunately on htc I only hear nothing.
does manila/winmo/htc supports call waiting/conf calls and features like that?
I'm not sure what your issue is, but here are some details:
You can activate call waiting, if your operator supports it. here is how it works: you are on the phone with person A, person B is calling. While person B is calling, you'll hear short beeps (always in a row of two beeps) thus letting you know there is some 'activity' going on.
You can answer the second call and put the first on hold. In the meantime, person A will hear a sound similar to the 'beeeep-beeeeep-beeeeep' calling sound.
When you decide you want to make a conference, you simply click Menu -> Conference, and now you have both calls connected.
In case you have several calls on hold, you can select which calls you want to make the conference with.
Hello
When calling another person from my phone and if there are on the phone you will get call waiting as this way you now the person it on the phone.
I have tired it from another phone and it works but when i try it on htc hd2 it doesn't come up saying call waiting. Where as the person it on a call.
It was a very useful thing to have on phone. Is there a reg key i can change or cab file??
I think that if you are dialing, you do not have call waiting. This is also true for fixed lines. This is the only time your caller can get a busy tone.
But home phone nowadays operate like cell phones, and do not really send out the DTMF until you press the talk button. As a result, the dialing process beomes so quick that it does not matter much.
Alex
For example
If I am dialling your number and while you are already on another call with someone else than it will come up on my phone call waiting.
This way I now you are on the phone.
It use to work from my nokia phone but I am not sure if that option is available in winmo
I get a lot of calls, often getting calls when already on a call.
I had a TYTN II before, and it had a function that allowed me to hang up current call and answer new call.
I don't think the HD2 allows that? Only gives me option to answer new call, which leaves other call running. I end up having to ignore new call, hang up current call and call the other person back (at my cost).
I spend about 24hrs a month on the phone, so the more i can answer calls when the come in, the cheaper it is for me.
Any one know a solution.
Also side issue. I used to get appointment reminders. And if i had the persons phone number in the appointment, i could dial it from the reminder. Was great if i was running late. it seems to have disapeared, probably with an update. anyone know how to reactivate it?
anyone got any ideas?
ok still waiting for help on this.
There is a couple of things i used to be able to do.
1- when on a call and get another call, it used to pop up an option to drop existing call and accept new call - it won't let me do that now. i have to dismiss the call then call back, or accept call and other is on hold. This is a reall problem if i call someone, they don't answer, but call back while i am leaving message. If i accept new call, the voicemail call is on hold in background.
Also when i first got my phone, the appointment reminder would display the phone number of the appointment, which made it easy to call and say i was running late. it's disapeared - maybe when i updated stock rom with updated stock rom (hong kong I believe)
Anyone know how to restore hese functions? call waiting one very important.
I have a big problem with my new Note 3 . I would like to be able to make a conference with two incoming calls. The option it gives me is just to swap in between calls not to merge the two incoming calls.
I need a serious and urgent help with this issue .
i am ready to flash and change the room if necessary. If i have to please let me know the ideal room.
The below is from the Help App-> Owners Manual then search for "conference"
Use multi-party call features to set up a call between multiple callers, such as for a conference call.
Establish the first call by answering an incoming call or making a call.
Touch Add call. The first call is placed on hold.
Make the second call by touching the phone number digits, then press .
Touch Merge to merge the calls into one conference call.

So tell the 2nd person that you'll call them back.
Other alternative....call Samsung or Verizon and ask them.
My GUESS is when 2nd call rings, hit add call in the first convo and then answer 2nd call....then you may have a merge option.

I have spoken with Verizon and also others on this forum as well about this. This is one strength that BlackBerry has that Android does not. The Android implementation/design for handling multiple phone calls is very poor. Only two calls can be handled at the same time. You can only merge calls if you have initiated both calls. If you have received either the first or second call, you can only switch between them. When you are able to merge calls you cannot switch between them and visa-versa. Also, when you have more than one call on the line, if you try to hang up then both calls are hung up upon. ONLY SOMETIMES when you hang up, the phone will ring and the call that was on hold will be reconnected when you answer. I had a blackberry for work and it allows you to add and remove (independently) different calls to the same conference. However, the android so often and in every other way, is so much better than blackberry, I still wouldn't convert over.

Actually....on the note 3...the first call can be incoming or outgoing. Not 100% sure but believe 2nd call may also be either.

Your statement is unclear. You can only have two calls at once. If any of them are received calls, then you can only swap between them, never merge. If both are calls you have made, you can only merge them, not swap them.

The "official" help instructions say the first call can be a received call OR a call you made. Hit the +Add button and call the 2nd number. Once answered..MERGE

Yes but the same button only shows MERGE or SWAP. In the scenario you just mentioned, how do you swap the calls instead? Or drop one of them, not both? The whole design for this is poor.
