Tried flashing 4.4 and installation aborted

So when I tried flashing the rom it gave me an error "No file_contextssymlink: some symlinks failed (status 7) Installation aborted"
so after wiping data cache and dalvik, I tried reflashing my previous 4.3 rom, and It gave me the same error! although I flashed it yesterday and it worked fine. help? Is there anyway I can add roms unto my phone while in recovery?
I'm using CWM as my recovery.

I had a similar problem what worked for me was to flash Philz recovery (what I was on when seeing the same error message u described) then flash back to CWM, U should be able to find the zip file on xda if not I'll upload it.
Here's the thread for philz recovery

Yes...
Go to your Android SDK folder -> platform-tools
You'll find the ADB file there.
Run CMD from this folder and type what I wrote.

I downloaded the latest CWM like you said, recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.3-mako.img, so I typed this file name in and it gave me an error:
'recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.3-mako.img' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

while in adb of course

It didn't recognize 'recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.3-mako.img' as a command. Try: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.3-mako.img
You can always use the flashable zip to update it as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995440

Did you type "fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.3-mako.img"? because it seems like you typed "recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.3-mako.img" or something that starts with it.
Make sure your device is in Bootloader while typing this.

What TWRP Version are u using? make sure u are on latest I thinks it's 2.6.3.1... here's linkg for the latest .img file http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/manta
or try the goomanager app.
if that fails u might have to use CWM.
Good Luck
Reboot recovery and unmount /cache partition. That worked for me
I could really use help with this as well. so many different issues. Sometimes its status 7 some symlinks failed, sometimes its just some symlinks failed, and sometimes its error in updater. I need help! Tried so many different things. My TWRP is up to date, ive downloaded the rom and gapps several times with all the same results, and High on Android said to open up the rom and change some of the script with a text editor and ive done that and rezipped the rom and flashed and still gotten errors. OMG please help

Nexus 7 rom installation fail (Status 7)

Ok so there it is
its a nexus 7 1st gen and I have twrp v2.4.0.0 and I want to install Autodroid-Grouper-v4.4.4.built.1.2.zip
I did wipe cache and davlink
I tried to redownload the rom and pushed it with ADB in the tablet and I still get that status 7 code. I actually need that rom because I'm using my tablet as a car radio . Is it another rom that i can try similar or how do I fix that Status 7 ?
Actually its my second one. last time (2 years ago) I installed that rom on a same tablet and had no issue.
It goes like this !!
Format and Mount system. Mount data...
Symlinks and permissions...
Set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/download/autodroid-grouper-4.4.4.build.1.2.zip
(status 7)
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/download/autodroid-grouper-4.4.4.build.1.2.zip
Updating partition details...
Thx
