Screen burn in - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

So, i found out that i had a screen burn today on my S8. Currently the places are the navigation bar at the bottom, Google Icon in GBoard and the chat input bar on WhatsApp. Does anyone have or had the same issues?

Get it repaired under warranty!
And yes, more people had this issue. It's also one reason why we can't select dark colours anymore for the nav bar.

Knock on feature

Would there be any way to restrict the knock on feature just to top part of the screen, in the status bar. Or possibly just make the lg logo do this as mine can sometimes go off in my pocket and be a bit sensitive sometimes. ? Thanks

Can you change the status/nav bar icon colors?

Like with G3 tweaksbox you can change all kinds of things like colors of status bar icons like the battery, signal strength, wifi, data, etc. Can change clock position and format and color. Can change led notification colors, and many other things. Anything like this for Galaxy phones/touch wiz?
Check out my current home screen. Want to duplicate this on the edge s7. Is it possible?

Not yet, need root and xposed on the edge S7
Right, but when that happens, what is used to change these things? What app and module?

It is not easy to find stuff on this. All I found was themes for Touchwiz and gravity box but not sure if gravity box is compatible, assuming the s7 edge is rooted. Could someone please give me a name of the app or module. Not sure why it has to be so secret. Assuming you know the answer, why not just help me? Very frustrating when I see people on here refuse to help and instead tell people to search the thread or whatever.
Edit: Also, it appears the nav bar buttons are actually hardware capacitive buttons. I'm assuming that there is no way to change their colors nor add buttons. Coming from a LG G3 that has software nav buttons so not sure how customizable samsung galaxy phones can be. This is a huge factor for me and any input on my questions would be greatly appreciated.

There are a number of XPOSED Widgets - some work some don't -
Gravity Box MM - XBLAST - Wanam Exposed - all have varying degrees of success with changing colors on Status Bar icons - there is another one - I forget the name - Android Theme Xposed or something like that - not sure if they all have been brought up to Marshmallow yet or not but many worked beautifully on Lollipop - in time they and others will show up for Marshmallow.
Search thru the Xposed Repository - and you are sure to find some nice ones...
There are and have been a number of ROMS that gave that kind of control -
AraMod on the Note 5, Hyperdrive on the Note 5, Alliance Framework on the Note 4 and S6) all have that capability - it is only a matter of time until they or someone like them develops for the S7 - at Least I hope so -
You'll certainly need to root and try one of the xposed modules available. There are several custom roms that allow you to do this was well.
The best one i could find and i use is "Flat Style Colored Bars", with tons of customizations.
Flat Style Colored Bar Indicators
Flat Style keyboard (with Google keyboard)
PerfectColorBars
And ur set. Dno why everyone made that so hard

Alarm on lockscreen

I have enabled the alarm clock and set it to show on my lock screen when I wake up the device (always on display turned off), but nothing shows up there besides some notifications. I have Google now as launcher, don't think that matters. Anyone with the same issue?

Samsung S8 Notification Bar Issue

My notification bar is always dropping down (sometimes intermittently) when I am using the Samsung S8 without me having to pull it down or receiving notifications. It is becoming quite annoying because every few seconds I have to drag it back up so that I am able to use the phone. Has someone else encountered the same issue?
Regards,
Press on the little white dot far left, it makes it stay uo.

It kept the bar visible or let it slide down.

Go to setting, search for navigation bar. The top item says show and hide item. That toggles the dot on and off.

That dot from the far left it is for the navigation bar. I was referring to the notification bar, the one at the top of the screen. Also every now and then the apps edge blinks intermittently and it coincides with the notification bar drop.

Did you enable fingerprint gesture to pull down notification shade? Settings>advanced features and then see under "finger sensor gestures"

No, I didn't. The settings are the factory ones.
Are you using a screen protector?

Yes I do, but the issues started before adding the screen protector. I took it down and still it persists
The problem was solved. If you ask me what caused the issue I have no ideea. All I can do is describe the exact steps I took.
1. I took of the screen protector just in case it was causing the issue
2. I restored the phone to factory settings
3. After that I didn't install any apps and didn't intstall any backups, no passwords, no face recognition, no pin, I omited all of the steps.
It seemed to have worked flawlessly I have no idea why and what was actually casing the issue with the notification bar. One day has passed so far and no notification bar issue so far.
I hope it's gonna stay this way

Visible background on top nav bar? Update bug?

I just noticed that I now have a visible background on the top nav bar against my black background. This seems to only be happening on the home screen. This does not happen on the lock screen. I've never seen this before.
I don't have that. Maybe reload your wallpaper?
