USB connetion settings on Nougat - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Can we set USB connetion type to MTP by default on Nougat for specific external device?
I'm using Android Auto and I have to do it every time manually to initialise connection with my head unit by setting connection type to MTP. By default it is always in Charging state.
PS I'm using AICP latest build.

In dev options it's not working, so it's not implemented. I'm using AICP too.

Thank you for your reply
What is your opinion, is it a bug or feature?

If it's Apple, it could be feature, but in Android we call it bug. Maybe some troubles in implementation. You should ask in AICP thread.

sub77,
hi, thanks, i checked my defconfig and samsung antiroot and selinux are already slain.
thought i have a thought it may be related dpi settings though no luck yet.
i'm running a build now with PRODUCT_AAPT_PREF_CONFIG := xxhdpi --> xhdpi
my tree has evolved some since metallica posted sources, am also working on camera
i am also working a build for matisse3g, on that build wifi 3g and camera are down but everything else seems to be in place.
i have an idea i can get one build unified, currently i need matisse3g /system/bin directory from stock.
thanks again.

I would love to test your samsung galaxy tab 4 t530 wifi build. I'm just so sick of touchwiz
Why this will not support T531 ?
As far i know all the specifications are same for both T530 & T531. So does this mean that all the ROMs for T530 will support for T531 as well ?
CIFS?
I got a T530 recently and have been trying out this ROM on it - great work so far. I was wondering if there was any way you could include the CIFS kernel module in the build? This is something that I have in a regular CM11 build on my phone, but I don't see it present in this ROM for my tablet - I was hoping it would have it since this is partially based on CM. It would be helpful to be able to mount network shares onto the tablet for media purposes
Also - I'm not sure if this is a known issue or not, but 5ghz WiFi does not seem to work correctly yet - though the 2.4ghz WiFi works just fine. The ROM will see 5ghz access points for me but will not connect to them. It just appears to do nothing (router in question is a Netgear Nighthawk w/ DD-WRT broadcasting A/N/AC Mixed w/ WPA2 for 5ghz).
I'm using the latest (at the time of writing) pac_matissewifi_KK.RC-3.dev_20141207-025035 build from the download link.
Thanks for all your hard work! It is appreciated

Is it possible to increase the Touchscreen sensitivity of the tab , its is terrible when writing notes with a stylus, Thanks in advance
I'm having some issues connecting to the faster of my wireless networks. I have one 5 GHz/802.11ac network and one 2.4Ghz G-only network. I can connect to the G one just fine, but when I try to connect to the AC network, it prompts me for my security key, thinks for a while, and doesn't connect. The network is marked as "Saved, secured with WPA2", but every time I try to connect it shows "Connecting..." below the network for a couple of seconds, then immediately disconnects/fails. Are there any known issues around this?
Also, is there a way to make the soft keys (back, home, app-switch)? The T530 has hardware buttons, so these soft keys just take up space.

Yes, I connected to the AC network with the stock ROM for a while when I first opened the box but I quickly decided to flash a Rom and this seemed like a nice one.
Also, got the onscreen nav buttons hidden, so nevermind about that.
Edit: sm-t530nu, if that matters

gallery/wallpaper problem
I just flashed and when I boot up the Gallery crashes. I can't change my background or lock screen image.. Is this a known issue?
Tested it,
as expected neither youtube nor camera works. Gallery app force closes all the time, and usb keyboard layout cannot be changed as stated in cm11 log.
The most anoying thing was i couldn't change the launcher from trebuchet to google now. Tried wiping the default action set on trebuchet, but that option is disabled and if i remove trebuchet with titanium backup no launcher shows up.
The rom is awesome, i love aosp look. I'll keep waiting till this gets stable.
Thank you.

Ok, exams are over, so I gave this rom another try. This time i didn't have that annoying you-cant-change-your-launcher thing, everything runs smooth but the lack of mp4 support really kills me. Tubemate may resolve YouTube playback but there's no such option for twitch.tv for example. Your work is great and I really hope you fix the problem with the codecs because i really like this rom.
Thanks

Wallpaper issue -> try a different launcher (my favorite is Nova). Avoid using the camera and gallery apps. You'll see force close notification every time you first boot up, but other than that you shouldn't see them once the rom settles

T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling.

So does anyone have an idea on how to get this to work on AOSP ROMS? I'm making new vebdor blobs and the only real new APK I see is CNEService. There's other files here and there but nothing I can tell that will help with this.

I am running the stock ROM (don't worry, bro, be back later today :victory: ) and I just got an update on an app I had never seen before: Google Connectivity Services. The tag line is "Improved Networking for Android", and the description talks about automatic wifi connections and Google VPN. Obviously this is a precursor to Fi, but I am wondering if the delay for T-Mobile WiFi calling was to wait for it to be built on the Fi platform for WiFi calling, which we know will be part of the deal.
Not sure what to make of it, other than it's looking very proprietary right now.

You won't brick, the WiFi calling feature requires framework changes that (I can pretty guarantee) are not open source.
Second: This is in the DEVELOPERS ONLY section, so if you guys want to discuss WiFi calling and aren't actually working on it then you need to move general discussion of it to a different thread. This area is strictly for development and discussion of such development (technical things, not "oh nice can't wait" or "I'll test for you" )
i think we should look at the file systems for the stock nexus 6 and t mobile nexus 6 and check for differences i know its a long shot but ill check it out tonight and see what i can find.
Second: see development were not just chatting anymore
Third: If anyones already done that please tell me so I don't have to its gonna take forever.

you need tmobiles blobs. besides that, all n6 roms will be identical.
So I decompiled LYZ28E and took a look around in the Settings app. It has a class called WifiCallingSettings. Inside there it makes calls to ImsManager.isWfcEnabledByUser. It seems like Wfc is WiFi Calling. I took a look at frameworks/opt/net/ims/src/java/com/android/ims/ImsManager.java and it doesn't have a function called isWfcEnabledByUser. I looked at android-5.1.1_r4 and android-m-preview tags. I think we need to wait for Google to push androiid-5.1.1_r5. According to https://android.googlesource.com/pl...om/+/ecfa803f8e7ca0cb65e74fb4dda90c16156655f3 that's the tag for LYZ28E.
From what I've been told by a guy I know at Tmo, you can only use WiFi Calling on phones that have been authorized by Tmo. (Example) Nexus 5 with Android M preview shouldn't be able to do WiFi calling. Even though Google is now baking in WiFi calling into Lollipop and M.
Check out the latest revision (5.1.1_r5) on AOSP. It includes WiFi calling support. Check it!

I'll submit the specific changes made to bcmdhd driver (rather than just merge the entire m-preview kernel) to Omni Github once it is tested further and verified functional and stable for merge.

Interesting. Todays nightly came closer than ever!
Stock CM Kernel allowed me to get the IWLAN status in SIM Status, but the Data Quick Toggle Shows TMOBILE (Not WiFi Calling), and I am unable to call out. Also, WiFi Calling Settings don't show up in the "More" Tab (Under Wireless & Mobile Network Settings), and no WiFi Calling toggle in the Dialer (Does CM use the Google Dialer? Or its own?).
Interesting. It seems like the hard part is done at least.

If you don't find it then manually you need to do it every time unless OnePlus team adds that feature in their OxygenOS ROM update

Oneplus took something that worked great and reduced it to idiocy. Having the timed or scheduled priority interruptions was great. Having a manual switch is the dumbest thing they could have done. It means you can't even ask somebody to call you in the morning to make sure you're awake.
It's crazy guys, i came to oxygen today after some aosp and cm experiences, and i couldn't believe to the lack of scheduled do not disturb! How did you workaround that? Looking for some app or xposed module, but think they won't be perfect as Google made it(and OnePlus destroyed).
Solution is quite simple, switch to unofficial Cyanogenmod. However do note that you need to be on OxygenOS 2.2.1 before making the switch. Also unofficial means it's pretty much beta/trial software with daily bugs, unless you run Graraks builds which are more stable.
Had a quite bad experience with temasek cm , cm13 and aokp
Wanted to try that new oxy because i do not see op2 at the level of opo at the moment (softwarely)
I recently upgraded from a OnePlus One running CM13, to a OnePlus 3 with the stock Oxygen OS. It appears that the scheduled downtime setting was copied from the OPO. The OP3 switches to priority notifications at 10PM and switches back to all notifications at 7AM, the same schedule I had on my OPO.
I'm guessing that the setting were copied, but I no longer have a way to alter them.

I'm not sure you can set them up as there's a long ruleId that needs setting as below:
Code:
<automatic ruleId="daf752fd6dcb4188bc3be0990768615f" enabled="true" snoozing="false" name="Night" zen="1" component="android/com.android.server.notification.ScheduleConditionProvider" conditionId="condition://android/schedule?days=1.2.3.4.5.6.7&start=23.15&end=6.45" id="condition://android/schedule?days=1.2.3.4.5.6.7&start=23.15&end=6.45" summary="..." line1="..." line2="..." icon="0" state="0" flags="2" />
I just deleted all of my old automatic rules from notification_policy.xml and then used #1 Profile from the PlayStore to setup new profiles.

But in this way you don't use anymore the automation of android, instead the app. That doesn't work to me (example if i put automated rule for calendar events, the rule starts but the "priority only" doesn't work)

It's not possible to use android automation because it's not built in to OOS3.
The app works fine here for both normal and priority events.
My phone isn't rooted, so I wasn't able to view the rule.
After upgrading to OxygenOS 3.2.2, the existing rule appears to be gone; my phone no longer goes into do not disturb mode automatically.

Bluetooth 5.0- How to use Dual Audio?

We all know 1+5 is having Bluetooth 5.0 which can let you connect 2 devices at one time but how to use it?
Galaxy S8 has an inbuilt option known as "Dual Audio" which lets you do that!

Of course not Well go to developer settings obviously and then below the option of the USB configuration, you'll find all Bluetooth specific options. The option you're looking for is called something like "Mode for bluetooth audio channel" and there you can select mono or stereo.

That's the same thing I want to do. Basically stream music on two devices at the same time. I don't even know if the Galaxy S8 is capable of doing that or if it also just got streaming the audio to one and everything else to other device.
So current solution with developer settings just enable this mode. I hope someone will look into it when Oreo gets more spread.

That is not a solution, that will just change the bluetooth audio output mode (between mono and stereo sound) but only for the device it is already streaming to. It will not change the number of devices you can stream to.

I tried some Xposed modules as well as apps from but none of them worked.
Is there any way to change MTP to default? Is there some sort of a config somewhere?

There is a build.prop line you can add for persistent mtp connection via USB... Just not sure what it is off the top of my head

I think everyone knows its in there. The problem is that you have to keep going in there and changing it back to MTP because it keeps resetting or defaulting back to charging.

You are correct.
It isn't sticky. It only lasts until you connect and then you need to set it up again.
Well I was already aware about the related option in Developer Options, but I just assumed that it's not being sticky is a known fact, so I didn't need to mention it.
I tried editing build.prop but it didn't work. It seems that you need to recompile Android itself to enable MTP as default.
I found another solution based on Tasker. It is a crude one but works nevertheless.

Yeah, I wasn't aware it was not sticky.
But tasker does work. I changed the behavior of the adaptive brightness based on my own preferences via tasker.
I have adaptive brightness levels I like.
I think I'll just fix this via tanker also.
I can't even get mine to stay in MTP or PTP. Everytime I attach a cable it goes strait to charging. Each time I select MTP or PTP it just jumps back to charging. ugh

That doesn't work. This is a years old bug. It's a so called safety feature by google that you have to choose charge or data transfer EVERY time you plug your stinking phone in. He's asking for a way around this. Dev options does NOTHING to this. It's overridden. This is old news.

Doesn't work! Try it!
Cool yer jets.
It does work on 9.0. I set it in dev options when I upgraded a few weeks back and it's still true now (just tested a moment ago by plugging it into my pixelbook).
