Samsung pay will never work once you've rooted and once you've rooted Knox is tripped forever. Android pay however can still work if you hide root status, most likely it's better to use a custom kernel and rom as they preconfig these things. But Samsung pay is a no go.
Knox is not tripped by this method of root.

Depends on your phone type.
For the Snapdragon version the root method does not trip knox. Samsung Pay and secure folder will not work while rooted. There is a work around to make Android pay function while rooted. I believe the snapdragon version can be unrooted by flashing stock firmware.
For the Exynos version the root method permanently trips knox. Samsung Pay and secure folder will never work again. There is a work around to make Android pay function.

Hey, I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500. I want to root it and install cyanogenmod 11 on it. But I read that there's some problem with Knox and how it ends your warranty if the flag changes to 0x1. I'm currently on Android 4.4.2 kitkat official ROM by Samsung. Can I root it without loosing my warranty? Also, I read that Kingoroot roots your phone and doesn't trip your knox counter either. Does anyone know about this?
The main thing I wanna do after rooting is change the DPI of my phone. I hate such big icons.
Search for safe root method

I hate Samsung for this. I'm thinking of trading in my phone for a Nexus 5 now. But I wonder how will I live without memory card support! :'(

I wish I could. I'm a student and only I know how I bought S4. It's only one month old. So, I can't buy HTC ONE M8. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion.
If your phone is unlocked
Sell it
Then get some little money then buy htc
Hi!
Is it worth it to trip knox and root my phone?
Is there any features I lose doing so?

No one?
i think so, i tried to root but didn't work but i'll try again, knox means nothing to me, i always root my phones.
You will not be able to use Samsung Pay if you root your phone. As there is no way to reset knox, you will never get to use samsung pay when it's up and running in your country..

Not to mention that tripping knox counter will result in losing your warranty
I've read online that if you trip KNOX verification that the phone disables the functionality of Samsung pay.
I'm just asking if there has been anyone who has rooted and flashed a custom ROM and then successfully been able to use Samsung pay.
the warranty isn't what I'm worried about its the fact that it would prevent me from using new features released.
Thanks in advance,

since the knox is tripped from 0x0 to 0x1, samsung pay stops working. Even if you are you using a custom rom, it ain't gonna work

I have heard that magisk versions above v12 can do it but never tried eventually so if you know if it can or something that can root without tripping knox please tell me.
and one more question does Kingroot trip knox. I dont want to root with Kingroot but yea...
There is no way to root without tripping Knox.
Magisk can hide knox counter from apps, but it cannot reset the counter, nor can it root without tripping it.
Kingroot will trip it as well.
Kingroot won't work for s8.
You can root then set knox to 0x0 on the PHONE only. Download mode will still show 0x1 and knox tripped.
Only thing you lose rooting is Samsung pay. And maybe warranty depending on region.

I insure through protect your bubble or EE. They have always fixed or repaired my rooted phones. Just restored before hand. Crappy of Vodafone to do that haha

Yeah it will always start on all devices, then most likely fail around 40%. Only phone I ever got to work with kingroot was an old alcatel pixi.
There's a few advantages of rooting s8 but depends what you use root for. If you do want to root I suggest TWRP and magisk.

What model? G950F/FD? G950U? There is a very simple way to root G950U/G950W devices already in existence. It's called SamFail and is listed with an accompanying rom in the threads section.

Sadly, currently there is no way of rooting Exynos S8 without tripping knox..
Unfortunately as mentioned above and beyond there is no way currently without tripping Knox. Sadly, I use Samsung Pay alot and like the idea of keeping that option hence no rooting as long as this device is my DD.

A question if anyone can help me.
I really need to Root my Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F) cause i need to try to recover some photos and most apps to recover need the root done.
I know that root trips Knox, but if i install an official firmware after been tripped, will phone get back to normal, or it will tripped forever??
Thanks

It physically trips knox warranty, so if it’s tripped once, you can’t recover it unless you replace motherboard.

Nope, you won't be able to use it again, even after you install an official firmware afterwards.
