Trying to help troubleshoot a friends ZOOT phone. We rooted and unlocked the phone a few months ago, everything has worked normally for the most part. A few days ago WiFi suddenly stopped connecting. We've reset the phone, tried a few different ROM's, and nothing will connect.
We noticed the MAC address is weird and doesn't appear to be a "normal" address. I would assume the WiFi hardware may be broken? Anyone have any insight or opinions?

Very strange.. I upgraded to wm6 AX3L few weeks ago and everything has been working fine until few days ago when (as I was watching some news on a tv stream) my wifi has stopped working. Since I have only been able to connect for few seconds by rebooting the phone....
I have re-flashed the rom few times and tried some different radio versions... no luck.
In my opinion this is an hardware fault but I have seen that there could be (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322225) an eeprom corruption but I am not sure if this is applicable.
Any suggestions before trying sending it back to orange?
Thanks

Check router settings, delete connection from Trinity and re-create it, try leavind the wifi on while not connected to any networks to see if it is a HW problem.
Hi...
The router(s) are fine... they did not change and everything else (the other 5 wifi units in the house) works well
I have re-flashed the unit several times , re-creating the connection everytime...
leaving the wifi on is a bit more confusing: 90% of the time I do not see anything, 9% I can see nearby networks, 1% I can see and connect (for few seconds) to mine.
I'm having almost the same problem.
When the trinity is newly restarted I can find and connect to any wifi, but after about 5 min I can't access any pages. I then disables/enables wifi but this time I cant find any wfif-spots at all, and the green light is not flashing.
If I soft reset the trinity I'm possible to connect for another 5 mins...
I have tried many different ROMs, both cooked and official, wm5, wm6.1 and w6.5, I have tried different radio versions aswell, but nothing seems to solve this.
Any idea what's causing this?
Any kind of help is appreciated!
Well, last night my x10 was connected to wireless fine.
I got up this morning went to work as usual, got in tonight and find that it now won't connect to it.
It gets stuck on obtaining IP address, then says unsuccessful and then repeats.
I can't say if it was doing the same thing this morning, before I left, because I don't remember, I was sleepy.
Any ideas? I have tried to search the forums but found nothing for the X10 specifically.
And this is a weird problem as it happened out of nowhere.
3G network works fine.
I have no other wifi network to try to connect to.
I have tried to change the password on the router.
I am going to change its name now to see if that will help.
But I got a feeling it's something to do with my phone, not my router.
I have x10i 026 rooted.
Router is BTHomeHub2.

Hi Again.
So I repaired my X10 last night to try and fix my problem and it did, the wifi connected fine.
But when I got up this morning and tested it, I have the same problem again. Unable to obtain IP address.
All I did was repair it, I haven't even downloaded ANY apps for it yet.
OK, so I just changed the name of my router again, this time I changed it to a short word (stupid) and it connected perfrectly. I read something about an HTC phone having this problem where the router name was too long and that by shortening it allowed it to connect. Somehow my phone seems to have developed this bug. I will let you know if the wireless still works after I have been to work today.
Hi all, my Legend has suddenly started having the Wifi "Error" message every time I try to turn it on. I'm rooted and am running Azure 1.0.1. It was just today that I noticed it happening and it was still working fine yesterday. I didn't make any changes to the system before this happened. I read on the other phone threads that the goldcard needs to be inserted and that it happens with OTAs, but mine is not. Is there any other cause for the problem? Now I can't connect to any wifi network any more.
Update: I found it's because of the editing of the wpa_supplicant.conf based on a solution found on page 125 of the Azure thread. It's for connecting to my university network. It worked only until my next reboot. Is there a more reliable way to connect to WPA2 Enterprise networks? Searched the whole night but couldn't find any.
I also had some problems with WI-FI connecting to all kind of networks (hidden or not but all with WPA/WPA2), while I was running Azure. Though I'm not sure it was an issue with this ROM since not many are complaining about this. I made it work after switching to the "nightly builds". I'm running 43 now and don't have any problems connecting to WI-FI for more than a week
Just got my Arc yesterday and noticed a really wired problem. I turned on Wifi tethering and connected from my MBP, after a few minutes of normal usage internet stops working. Although Wifi still shows connected on my Mac but sites will never load.
I keep getting "WPA Key" incorrect error if I try to reconnect before I restart Wifi tethering on my Arc. Thing is this only happens when WPA is on, if I choose no security it works completely fine without any issues.
I also tried connecting from my Nexus One and the same thing happened after a few minutes, so it shouldn't be some sort of conflict between Arc and my MBP.
Everything else on my Arc works perfectly, I already tried a hard reset but it didn't help. Does anyone know what else could I try before sending my phone back to SE?
anyone?
Hey did you find a solution? Or has anyone got any suggestions, I have the exact same problem. I can connect to the phone for about 2 minutes then it suddenly stops working. I then cannot reconnect properly untill everything is reset. I tried using it without security after finding this post and it works for me as well - I don't want to have it open though, im in halls of residence so people will try using it. Im on three mobile, I wondered if it is a possible problem with their branded software. (USB tethering works perfectly)
I also cannot connect to the update service through the phone, it fails everytime but there is nothing wrong with the 3g connection etc, and only the update service has problems. I know this is not important, but it could be a sign that something is wrong so it is annoying me a little
Thanks

Hi everyone,
Since Friday my phone just stopped connecting to Wi-Fi networks. When it tries to connect it says "Network access denied". Mobile data and everything else work fine. I can technically connect if I literally put the phone on top of my router but even then it is unusable. Take two steps away from it and the connection drops. I spent the whole weekend and yesterday looking for a solution. I tried almost everything including resetting the phone, updating the phone from the current version to the B524 beta and back (rollback wiped my phone but I don't mind), the airplane mode trick and countless router rebootings. I really hope it's not a hardware issue, I've only had the phone for a couple of months... To make matters worse I ran out of data allowance and have to wait until next month for it to come back.
So yeah, kind of an annoying situation. Anyone know what is happening?
Thanks.
Have you already tried to connect to other wifi network, problem could also be in your router ...

I did, yes. I've tried to connect to mine, my brother's and some unsecured one that was near me.
if you are rooted then i suggest full wipe in twrp , download new rom and see if it works again , if not it must be the phone who has hardware problem.... and repair shop is needed
I have the same problem, my P8 Lite Wi-Fi just stopped working, tried several different Routers that used to work but just get Network Access Denied. Think this must be a software problem.
Hey !!! anyone get this solution will please help me i am facing same problem "Network access denied"
tried also Install New Rom but nothing will happen ... ???
Hey.
Im having same problem...visually everything works (not greyd out), but when scanning, scans for a second and then thats it. Tried wifi direct, doesnt work.
Also bluetooth doesnt work (same as wifi...cant find nothing).
