Hi,
For the last couple of days I've been trying to flash T330NU-LP_Ultrapure-UltraStock to may SM-T330NU. I've followed every instruction; however, each time still results in the device being in a infinite bootscreen.
Software used: Odin 3.10.7 (also 3.09)
Here's the steps I've taken:
1. Boot to download
2. Connect to Odin
3. Flash stock 5.1.1 ROM: T330NUUEU1BOG1_T330NUXAC1BOG1_HOME.tar.md5
4. Let it boot to welcome screen, then skip to homescreen (also tried booting to just welcome)
5. Boot to download
6. Reconnect to Odin (new session)
7. Flash Phil's Touch custom recovery provided.
8. Boot to recovery
9. Wipe and format options > Clean to install a new rom
10. Flash T330NU-LP_UltraliteV5e-Xposed-Root
11. Wipe cache
12. Wipe Dalvik/ART cache
13. Reboot to recovery (I've tried skipping steps 11 and 12)
14. Flash SuperSU indicated
15. Boot (waited for upwards of 20 min, just in case)
16. Infinite boot animation....
It's my first time flashing a rom to a Samsung device, so it is very possible I've missed something.
Many thanks in advance. :highfive:
I think you need to flash moonbutt74's rootable kernel too, right before superSU, in order to prevent the bootloop.
Also you need superSU 2.49 for lollipop, not 2.46

Thanks for the lightning reply!
I will give that a try. I have class now, but will update on how it went once I give it a try.

Hello dear Community!
It is depressing that my first appearance here is to ask for help, but I am going crazy.
So, I tried to Root my phone via Odin + CF Autoroot klte and it seemed to have been a success.
The root checker also said, that my device was rooted so I went on and installed TWRP to be able to install Lineage OS.
After getting Lineage to work I got a few error messages suddenly popping up, telling me that either "Music had stopped" or other android operation were closed because they didn't work properly.
I tried to install Gapps, it seemed to have worked but I was only able to open and enter the store once, afterwards the store never managed to load and then the app closed itself after starting it.
So I checked again with Root Checker, but this time it gave me an error message, too. It said, that my device was not rooted properly.
I guess this is were I made it worse by deciding to just root the phone again. Obviously, it didn't work either.
Afterwards I thought that maybe installing The Original Android OS and then unrooting the phone would be the best solution to be able to start anew.
First I tried to flah Lineage again and that made it impossible for me to boot the phone. The farthest I got was the setup page, were it tells you Hello and were you can choose a Language, but clicking the arrow key didn't do anything at all.
The recovery mode was also not the TWRP one anymore, but the original Android one and that was a huge problem for me.
Then I tried to flash the 6.1 OS for the S5 (I made sure it was the correct version), but now it is stuck at the "Samsung" screen while it boots.
It never boots though.
I don't know what to do anymore.
Please, I beg you, could anyone help me out?
Don't flash the latest Lineage OS ROM
Hello AsylumAlice u shouldn't have flashed the latest Lineage OS ROM because now u will need a new motherboard for your S5 since the ROM corrupts the MMC chip now u will need to get a new MMC chip or a new Motherboard sorry that your s5 is now hard bricked but when u get it fixed flash the DreamUX S8 Rom it works flawless on my S5 SM-G900i

What are the grounds for your claims?
You needn't root via CF-autoroot if your end goal was to flash lineage. CF autoroot was intended to root stock roms with ease and less effort.
Flash The LATEST, official TWRP via odin then do a FULL WIPE. Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache.
From here on, you have two options:
1.) Sideload the LineageOS rom via ADB
2.) Transfer it to the phone's storage via MTP and flash it from TWRP.
As for how to accomplish this, the forum search bar and Google has your back. You need only choose one procedure.
If you need the Play Store, flash gapps AFTER flashing LINEAGE AND BEFORE REBOOTING.
Since you were under the idea that utilizing CF-autoroot was a necessity, I suggest that you re-read this post thoroughly before actually putting it into practice.

Thank you so much for your fast reply!
-> I flashed the newest Version for klte via Odin, but I can't get into the boot mode.
I only am able to enter the download mode. What can I do now?
Flash TWRP via odin again, untick the Auto-Reset option of Odin first. Then try booting to recovery via long holding the power, home and volume up button simultaneously without releasing any of the buttons until you successfully see the TWRP splash screen.
If that still doesn't work, reboot to recovery via adb from download mode. You need the adb and the usb drivers for your device.
If that still doesn't work, you might have flashed an incompatible version of TWRP.

Thank you so much, it worked perfectly!
I can now start my phone and use it normally.
But the Root Checker still says:
"Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device.
Device: SM-G900M
Android version: 7.1.2"
What should I do from now on?
Thank you so much for your help (agaiN).
And as for why I used the auto-root, well I just followed a guide that I found, it only had positive reviews so I assumed it was a correct tutorial.

I thought about doing that, but wasn't sure how exactly to proceed and what Version to install.
I downloaded SuperSU v.2.82 and put it on my internal storage.
Just install over TWRP the same way that I Installed Lineage and Gapps I suppose?
I guess if it doesn't work out, I just follow the steps from above again and retry?
Thank you so much. I feel like in idiot in this situation.

You messed up your rom by installing official update on custom kernel. Can you boot from twrp to system? What happens if you do that? Which stock rom you have exactly? Otherwise you can flash stock rom with fastboot, but never downgrade!

Thank you for your reply, strongst. When I press the Reboot->System buttons in TWRP, the phone boots back to TWRP recovery.
Here are the stats I recorded before things went sideways:
Original stock firmware Build Number - NPJS25.93-14-4
Original OS version - 7.0
Original Kernel - 3.10.84-gb9596e1 [email protected] #1 Fri Mar 3 02:04:02 CST 2017
Original Baseband version - M8952_70030.25.03.62RATHENE_RETUSA_CUST
Updated Kernel - 3.10.84-ElementalX-G4-1.04 [email protected] #1 Sat Mar 11 14:16:55 EST 2017
Note: I found NPJS25.93-14-4 firmware at
https://www.getdroidtips.com/npjs25-93-14-4-march-security-moto-g4-plus
but it's titled as "March 2017 security patch" OTA update. I'm not sure if that is full replacement firmware or not.
If necessary, should I simply flash NPJS25.93-14 (full firmware) via fastboot and allow Moto to finish the updates via OTA?

You can also flash the latest available for your device with June security patch. After that you can root again with ex kernel if you want https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
Make sure to mount storage within twrp first and save your internal memory before flashing stock rom!
In future, if that happens, you could try booting to the bootloader, then on the bootloader screen, press 'Start' and try to get your device to boot normally. Credit to: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72114657&postcount=170
Personally, I'd go with strongst's suggestion to flash the June 2017 stock fastboot ROM - you'd have to revert to stock (completely) anyway to accept the OTA - as you've found out, OTAs will only successfully flash onto a device with stock recovery, kernel, and unmodified system including no root. You may as well update at the same time to the same patch level that the OTA would have brought you up to.

This 100%. Boot into bootloader and choose start from there. I ran into the same issue last night whilst trying to update my XT1644 and figure this out through trial and error. Once I got it back up though, flashing many stock recoveries that I found online couldn't get the update to work either. It would error out a few seconds after booting into the stock recovery and starting the update. I finally resigned to re-flashing a stock image of marshmallow and updating it all again from there. I wanted to pull the stock recovery before I replaced it with TWRP again but I couldn't find a way to do that. Any method I found required having root access already, and of course I can't get root access without flashing a custom recovery first.

Thanks for all replies. Rebooting from the bootloader screen brought my phone back to normal. Same March 2017 patch, as well as the same TWRP and ElementalX kernel and build number. Unlocked bootloader logo.bin remains intact. Magisk is still at v13.3 and it passes SafetyNet. Internal memory intact. I'm relieved.
Settings->System Updates->New version NPJ25.93-14.5
However, I'm now contemplating whether it'll be worthwhile to patch my phone to the NPJ25.93-14.5, June 2017 update.
Can I assume that the June 2017 1.1 GB "patch" contains the full NPJ25.93-14.5 firmware for XT1644?
Is there a way to flash the June 2017 ROM via TWRP, and without having to reinstall ElementalX kernel, etc.?

Yes it's the full rom. And no, you need to flash kernel and magisk after every rom flash, stock twrp, fastboot or custom rom doesn't matter(otherwise it's already included).

Thanks again strongst. I'm still contemplating because of the complexity. However, the constant phone notification to update is weakening my resistance. Not sure I want to have to look at that for days on end.
Just to clarify, are you stating that I won't have to reinstall TWRP? That would be a relief.
Would it suffice to copy my internal SD to my PC and restore it later? Do I need to copy everything? Will my Nandroid backup save my Magisk settings?
I did make a TWRP backup of the XT1644 updated to NPJ25.93-14.5. I could share it with you if you'd like. However, you'd still need to flash ElementalX and root after.

You need to flash twrp after you flashed the stock rom cause the stock rom flash the stock recovery. Copy the whole internal memory, better to save everything when you don't know exactly what you need
Restore the whole internal memory isn't good, just restore what's missing if you recognize it. Your magisk settings will be saved with nandroid, that's true, but don't restore your partitions from nandroid backup from your prior rom version to the new, that cause trouble. Make backup of your apps with titanium backup instead.
Just to clarify - are you on the Amazon software channel (amz) or do you have the Amazon Prime edition of the XT1644 (with the ads on the lockscreen)? I'm just curious as whether this NPJ25.93-14.5 update is exclusive to Amazon or if it's more widespread.
EDIT - seen a couple of users reporting they've received it on the retus channel, so maybe more widespread to US users, maybe to include the Verizon emergency calling patch that the G5 Plus got too?

Sorry, I'm not an expert, so I can't say much about precautions. What I will do is tell you what I did to get my phone to its current state now is:
Backup my data
After failing to apply the NPJ25.93-14.5 update many times through a bunch of different stock recoveries that I found online (including versions extracted from full stock ROMs), I found a way to downgrade back to the stock ROM of Marshmallow for the XT1644. I applied all the OTA updates, all the way to NPJ25.93-14.5.
At this point, I flashed TWRP recovery again. At the same time, right after running the command to flash TWRP with fastboot, I also flashed logo.bin to get rid of that unlocked bootloader message. I then booted into TWRP and then backed up the system and boot partition as it was (so stock kernel and no root).
In TWRP, I flashed ElementalX, and then SuperSU after that (I know you are using a different root method so flash yours).
Then I restored the data (data partition only) of the backup I made.
After that, I rebooted into system and everything booted up just fine. I had root access and all of my data was intact. Your steps 2 and 3 would be:
Put my backup with your other backups in the TWRP folder
Do an wipe in TWRP to wipe dalvik cache, cache, system, and boot. DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL STORAGE
Then continue on with step 4 from above. And of course, I can't emphasize enough to back up your data. Not just through TWRP, but any photos, etc that you can copy onto your computer first. I'll PM you a link to my backup.

Thanks for the advice. However, I'm having trouble determining exactly what I need to backup before the firmware flash.
Which folders from the Root dir of internal memory need to be saved?
Do I need to save the SDCARD directory?
Can I use TWRP to restore individual apps within the Nandroid backup instead of the whole archive?
Just trying to be extra careful to preempt things from going sideways. Thanks.

When you are booted in twrp, reboot to bootloader of system (obviously). Then press power button when it displays start. Like this the phone will boot into system and not in recovery
Or
Just reboot to bootloader and read the thread attached with it.

Thank you for your reply DgnrtnX. It matches the successful solution I received from exho92 on 09/01/17. The only issue is that I need to boot via that method each time. I no longer boot directly into my system. However I plan to update to NPJ25.93-14.5 shortly so I'm hoping the reboot issue will go away if that upgrade goes well.
USB debugging and OEM unlock were already enabled and remain so.
Hi guys. This is my first post on XDA.
Now I've got C9 Pro, and hours ago I just got it flashed with the latest Android 8.0.0 ROM, version: C9000ZHU1CRG9.
Also I managed to flash TWRP. Then I started doing the Root things with TWRP, as I had done on Android 7.1.1.
However, I did get issue while doing the Root on Android 8.0 --
Actually the SuperSU was flashed successfully, but after this, the phone kept restarting, failing to enter the OS.
I am definitely sure I did the Root with the right steps.
Also I tried different versions of SuperSU, still the issue existed.
Then I flashed Magisk instead, no use.
I even used other versions of TWRP, still no use!
......
Finally, I quitted, flashing the former Android 7.1.1 ROM.
I can't use a phone without Root, but I really want to experience Android 8.0.0.
Can someone offer me any solution?
Thanks a lot in advance!

You know what, I already tried TWRP 3.2.3, but failed!:crying:
I have tried almost every combination ended up getting bootloop always except when I tried these;
1. Install stock firmware and csc (not home csc this will fully wipe the phone)
2. After finishing it enters to recovery and updates the system. Keep hold of pressing the volume down+home key to enter to download mode as soon as it finishes installing system update.
3. install twrp from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903985796 (original thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/c9-pro/development/twrp-c9ltechn-t3646970 sometimes links can be dead. In that case you can find new link from that thread).
4. Keep holding of pressing Volume Up+Home key while installing twrp to boot into recovery as soon as the phone reboots.
5. While in recovery flash this SuperSU https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4164510&d=1496008012 (Located in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4164510&d=1496008012 as "*** Xperia users, and others experiencing bootloops ***
Please use this version instead: "
Your phone should boot normally to setup screen.
After You finish setup you should see supersu icon and your phone should be rooted.
I haven't tested but if your phone is in working condition right now you can try from step 3 to not lose your data.
Good Luck -
Thanks for your method. I think I made it finally!

I have tried almost every combination ended up getting bootloop always except when I tried these;

There is, however, one problem with the given TWRP:
Before flashing SuperSU, I did format, or exactly, mount /data.
But when the phone was rebooted again, /data resumed unmounted, resulting in failure in flashing other ZIPs (It said "unable to mount /system").
Then I got the phone rebooted, the terrible bootloop occurred again!
That is to say, we have to flash all ZIPs in one time after mounting /data without rebooting the phone, but sometimes this is not possible.
Now my phone has gone back again to Android 7.1.1, and I think I have to wait for an official TWRP that supports Android 8.0 thoroughly on C9 Pro!

I tried your guide & used Magisk v17.2 instead of SuperSU at step 5 & successfully resolved the bootloop problem, but I did encounter the problem of data not mounting even after flashing ashyx_dm-verity zip:

2 days ago I flashed again the Android 8.0 ROM into my C9 Pro with Root successfully, through which I found the actual problem:
The given TWRP only supports the specific SuperSU zip, and while I flash other zip files, the bootloop occurs again. That's why I surrender flashing Xposed zip.

Well done
I can confirm that I have enabled mounting data partition in TWRP after using your mentioned Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_09.02.2018 zip file, Although I haven't followed your steps exactly
I have mentioned my steps in earlier reply.
Thanks

Thanks first.
Well, I do have a question: can I flash other zip files, like Xposed, with your given TWRP without phone bootloop?
Thanks!
New thread with root guide on oreo (8.0) step by step with required files would be appreciable.

Last night I tried this again following the steps, and finally the flash of Xposed and other 3rd-party zip were successfully!
Only one problem: an app named "Toggle Data" could not be run properly.
Again, thanks a lot!
How to do, C9 Pro with Root successfully?

Hello I succeed in rooting my phone a few days ago but some moto fonctions doesn't work well (fingerprint, rotate, moto display stop each time)and I couldn't desinstall apps ans install theme icones while I was superuser. So I decide to restore stock and reinstall TWRP and supersu. But TWRP doesn't load after to start phone and I tried install many img with any problems (see OK all time) but Twrp menu never appears (maybe a pb due to Elementx install for rooting before? I don't now for the moment).I'm looking for......
What surprises me is the fact that I always have "status modified" on bootloader while it would be "official".And It is in yellow as when Twrp was installed.Restore stock doesn't erase all datas for custom recovery?Stock works normally.Did Twrp removed completely???Did you have an explanation for tis issue?
My stock firmware is which I downloaded from motorola website.I attempt factory reset, wipe cache etc .....nothing
I would try another method to restore (with 2 others firmware).

Maybe you flashed the wrong firmware. Flash this one with the guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...ck-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138/page99
Also this is the wrong forums to ask.
I am unable to report this. Please any moderator shift this thread

You can flash latest official firmware that is posted in second post to solve firmware related issues..
After flashing, you will not get official status back, it will remain modified..
To get official status back, you need to have OTA update, which is possible only when Motorola releases OREO or SECURITY PATCH, but currently no any method will work... (Also not sure about security update )
NEVER DOWNGRADE AND TAKE OTA UPDATE, IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
I forgot to precise I was under Android 6.0 (MM) but it 's frustrated I don't have a signature now.Ok I had to try to update to Androit 7.0 (Nougat) but it failed.I restore a stock and update it with OTA but it doesn't install it.
So I reinstall one more time but I flash partition and bootloader with one tuto of XDA even if it isn't advised.
I think install of Elementx has caused troubles because Update and Twrp install worked perfectly before.
I don't know what 's the problem
