Some people and me have that same issue, arfter flashing a new ROM. What could we do ? My only way to solve this issue is to "fastboot format userdata". But erase internal storage.
Recovery is not the guilty.
We're waiting for your helps and solutions.

Hi, out of curiosity was it like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4uNgCU4u04&feature=youtu.be ?
I just do wonder if that's something with mine OP5 or it's a general bug they have...

I also was having the same problem as yours, but my phone stay on the black screen for minutes and then it works perfectly. have you tried to re-flash your rom, just to make sure theres no error on the installation, i also have tried that mathod and it works
I tried it.
I got this thing after ota upgrade to OOS 5.0.0.
Then I did hard reset of the phone as I was unable to use it.
Worked fine few days, and once again after reboot landed with such problem.
I contacted oneplus they did remote session.
But installed a ROM with blocked OTA. I manually flashed on top of it official OOS 5.0.1.
Few days later, I have once again the issue I recorded.
Which ended up with hard reset.
Issue was solved for me. The problem was only an older build of Nolimits ROM from August on clean flash.
Normally nothing but a clean flash (means wiping data) can solve this.
I have the same issue after i clean install Android Oreo (oxĂgenOS 5.0.1), if i rolback to nougat the problem can be solved right?

I didn't try rollback yet.
Guys - I know it can be solved by clean flash but thing is that it seems to reappear after some time. Of course we can always master wiping data etc. But maybe someone has idea how to prevent it / check what causes that behaviour?

Hi everybody,
I'm fairly new to the android world and I don't know a lot about modding. I flashed Cloudyg3 1.3 mod about a month ago and everything went well, but today I wanted to upgrade to 2.0, so I entered in recovery mode using Autorec, as usual, to backup my phone. The backup was ok, then I rebooted my phone and it stuck to security error. I didn't flash anything yet, so I really don't know what may have possibly caused this error.
I even tried to enter recovery mode again to wipe data, dalvik, etc, but when I reboot I still get this error.
Any help?
I solved wiping everything but internal storage, and then using ADB Sideload to flash the CloudyG3 ROM.
@Unichord good to hear that you had fixed your problem, the security error is most time that if you remove or change files that it shows security error, its implented in the kernel ony I believe not in the rom.

I understand that, if I was flashing a rom, or kernel or everything else I would be fine with it (maybe I would have done something wrong), the problem is that it showed up just after a backup! I really don't understand why it did happen.
Thank you anyway for the info
Hello,
I may have bricked my phone but I'm open to suggestions of possible solutions.
I upgraded to lollipop and everything was working great, I decided to try out the encryption functionality and now it doesn't boot...
It gives me an error screen saying that encryption failed, perform a factory reset. I have done so and it still won't turn on...
Since I have done a ADB push rom.zip to it and that didn't work.
Tried both TWRP and CWM to factory reset...
Do you guys have any other ideas?
Thanks
Anthony
Solved
I did end up finding a solution, thought it would be nice to share just in case someone else has the same problem.
Flashing to CM12 actually worked and got me through but I wasn't happy being limited to CM12 because when I flashed back to the rom it had the same issue.
I flashed to a standard rom from Samsung and used it's factory recovery menu to do the reset and that worked
Hey so when I received my phone I set up everything like normal person does on the latest OTA(at that time 4.5.2) and removed encryption, today I decided to install latest OTA but for some reason after flashing full zip in twrp it refuses to boot, all I can see is OnePlus logo
Does anyone else have same issue or atleast know what can be the problem ?
I even tried to look on the log but I didn't see anything
Log is here
Edit1: I tried to do a lot of backups/restore and my phone now refuses to boot even from backup that was working before..
Edit2: Going into bootloader and using fastboot format userdata made me install latest ota
twrp problem, seem still to be bit buggy

Had the same problem on stock ROM, but the last update with january security patch fixed it.
Maybe a factory reset fixes the issue?

I did make a clean install through TRWP. WIPED cache and dalvik cache. deleted internal data and system data.
I had random soft reboots before I was on fulmics Rom as well. so I think it's not specific to this Rom....
how many times did your device rebooted?

On which base is Fulmics yet?
The reboots happened once a week, or sometimes even twice a day.
I had this happen on stock. After much reading of logcat output I was able to determine some kind of system table was getting exhausted. Proceeding on the theory that some app must be misbehaving to cause this, I disabled or uninstalled as many apps as I reasonably could, concentrating on what I could remember having installed or updated recently, and the reboots went away (I am paying close attention as I gradually re-enable or re-install stuff but haven't found a definitive culprit yet).

I had the same thoughts.....cause the issue is not taking place continously.... so I don't think it is ha hardware issue.... still couldn't find the app which may lead to a random soft reboot
I restarted my US997 and noticed my fingerprint option in settings was missing. Tried installing another ROM. Same thing. Anyone have this happen to them or know how to fix this?

Thank you. Flashing the bootloader zip fixed the issue.
Did you happen to understand if flashing the bootloader wiped everything?

I have the same issue. Can someone please tell me from where do I get the bootloader zip?
So I have the same issue, but I have an unrooted H870.
First time it happened on holiday in spain, it got really hot this time. Since then it worked sometimes and sometimes not.
But now it got worse so I tried to factory reset, and an update repair with LG Bridge but nothing worked.
Now even the option of fingerprint is gone in the settings menu.
Is there a way to flash the bootloader zip without rooting the device? I guess no...
Any other suggestions?
Or should I send it in for repair/replace?
