Hey everone i have been on stock firmware since i bought my device and never updated it
finally decided to update to lollipop a while back and **** happened
downgraded to kitkat but still never got the same performance and battery as i had in begining
i have been thinking to move on to custom roms but my experience is almost zero when it comes to custom roms
can you guys plz suggest me which would be a stable and good rom for my device that has awesome battery life
i searched the form and came across arrow rom , halcyon rom, tyagi rom, atom rom and doctors amputated and many more
and i became hell lot of confused
can someone plz suggest which rom should i go for
p.s : i am not looking for tons of extra features i just want a rom thats fast and stable enough
You can flash the Ozcan ROM v6.3.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743877
I have been using it as a daily driver for the past several months.
It runs Touchwiz UI and has features similar to Galaxy S5.
No issues of overheating or battery drain outs so far.
thanx a lot for the suggestion buddy i just installed it and its working like a charm
Hello guys !
I have been a new member of XDA . (**noobie** tho ) . I own a REDMI 2 PRIME . I have flashed many roms and kernels on my device suggested by xda but until now i have not found anything i.e. any ROM that i might stick onto. I always flash a new rom and within 3-4 days seeing the battery consumption i revert back to MIUI ROM . Please suggest me with links to the ROM and kernels that i should try on and can hold on to a particular rom.
Thanks Guys !
Look....devs are tried or trying to make ROM that is suitable for us .So be greatful to them.
I am using cm 13(official) and du by dual boot and I am happy.
BTW ...u can't get everything work perfectly in anything in this world.....
In my experience if you are going for bugless you should go for stock which is pretty good and especially on prime much smoother compared to 1gb variant.
On other hand any custom ROM come with trade off, most stable ROM on r2 is DU but it won't support Jio,then there is Orion by same dev which is minimal and excellent ROM in itself ,if you are new to custom Roms then you should stick to CyanogenMod which offers AOSP looks with its own set of features and is reliable,

Reply 1 :Your review was awesome ! Will surely try this beta rom !
Reply 2 :The phone is awesome and i dont see a chance that i might be changing this phone because of its compact size and its battery life on stock rom . The wierd thing that happens is that i have seen many people say that a particular rom say CM13 official nightly build is the best stable rom for redmi 2 prime but i used it and saw a pretty lag even when the phone booted up for the first time that is no new apps installed for a day and then i would have to revert back to my stock rom !
Hehe that is what going on from all the roms i have tried . I havent tried tesla rom latest build for miui redmi 2 prime which users say is the best rom until now ! So lets see what happens next

Yeap, Resurrection Remix N (R3.1) or Nick's Cyanogenmod.
Any non costumized ROM
Hello, is there any ROM only without bloatware, prerooted and stable? The thing is, most of custom ROMs always has some wi-fi bug, bluetooth, whatever... besides some are meant to look like S8 or other changes in the theme... that's my personal/business day to day phone, I'm a little bit old now to make experiences with different ROM, in the past it sounds good to have a phone all costumized, I had time to reinstall original ROM when it bricks, I still remember my first phone Motorola C650, oh that was a fight to get space to store one complete MP3 song, now I just want/need performance and stability, I know this forum is supposed to people help each other with bugs, improvements, sorry if I'm being selfish. Thanks in advance.

you should go for light stock rom V1.1, maybe change the kernel in it to Hades kernel or something to make it little more smooth

Thank you.
so ive been away from this phone for about 6 months now and im finally coming back to it as my daily driver, I broke the screen and had to use an old pantech my dad had from 08. But Im amazed seeing all these nougat roms popping up and i have a few questions.
1. Will Dirty Unicorns or TruPure be updated to nougat? These 2 were my favorites back 6 months ago and i dont have the time to look and see if they will be at the moment. But im guessing not as no ones talking about them in other threads anymore.
2. Which rom if any is the most stable out of the nougat roms we have so far?
3. Is it even worth upgrading to a nougat rom yet? should i just wait for official nougat

DU was updated to Nougat, just not posted on XDA. Google for the official DU site and you will see they've been updating it frequently. I like DU, but I was having issues with cell signal.
I can vouch for DU. Very stable ROM.

DU is most stable by far. The latest resurrection remix builds have been stable as well. Both these ROMS are 7.1.2.
Honestly these ROMS are pretty stable by now, and if you are on xt1575 dont get your hopes up about the official nougat. Even when or if it does come, it will be extremely buggy I would assume. So yes definitely go for a custom ROM I would recommend DU or RR. Also if you want a good custom kernel to play around with definitely check out handbag kernel!
RR : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...ial-resurrection-remix-v5-8-3-t3637204/page22
DU : https://download.dirtyunicorns.com/files/clark/

Thank you

Thank you guys/gals I will most likely be going back to DU as it was my favorite ROM! I've tried RR but i didn't have it long as i was missing DU but im pretty excited to be back on the moto train later today. And big thanks for the direct DU link as i was having trouble finding it.
Thanks!
I've been testing DU since last Saturday... I gotta say I'm amazed! Way faster and stable than I expected.
There are only minor bugs... Like random audio bumps or screen glitches. But nothing major.
Do you guys have issue with calls and speaker on du? Basically the moment I switch speakers on during a call, the other party can't hear me well. Anyone with a possible solution?
Dirty Unicorns vs Resurrection Remix... Which should i pick?
Is there a stable CyanogenMod 13? I just unlocked my bootloader and I'm looking for a rom that is stable, has theming (cmte preferred), and good performance and battery life. I use CM13 on my Moto E LTE and love it.

Did you ever find this out? I am on RR right now and everything seems smooth but tried to use the speaker phone today and the other side could not hear me. Wondering if it is the same for DU before I flash. This is my first Nougat flash and had been running MM TruePure this whole time lol

DU stopped nougat development & moved on to oreo. Now that we got the N source, it may fix it. That is if the device maintainer wants to keep working on the device.
Basically i'll be able to root my phone tonight but i'm still unsure what rom to put on, I thought about just getting either RR or Pixel experience.
anyone got recommendations? I need a really stable rom for daily use
Thanks in advance
I would like to know what ppl answer, i am on the same situation. Hope someone can advice.
personally on masik f (gen 2) + latest genom kernel, outstanding performance and battery life (kernel tweaks) staying on masik until RR official releases more build since its still on initial build and still have the video lag.
