I know the title may make the question seem redundant to what's been asked many times but I have a sorta different question. So I live in Dubai and I've been using the double press power button to open the camera, just came to India and swapped out my primary sim to Jio and the feature wasn't available anymore. I know why this happens, my question however is whether I'll be able to get the feature back when I go back to Dubai.
I'm sorry if this has already been asked, I couldn't find an answer.

First, is the SIM in correctly? I know it sounds stupid, but it happens often. The little metal basket needs to slide 'back' after putting the sim in to lock it in place.
After trying that, is the phone SIM locked? If so, that might explain the airplane symbol, but not the freeze.
Let me know if the SIM is in fully, and if possible try another SIM on T-Mobile (or another network if that's all you have)
yes sim is in correctly thats 1 thing i thought as well but tried with sim cards n still same . possibly sim tray is faulty . any other suggestions

Wanted to share the story of what happened me as a cautionary tale for all those considering unlocking their phone.
I bought my code from http://www.unlock-sony.com and after 4 days it arrived.
I put it in the phone as per the 'different sim' method described elsewhere on this forum, and the phone said network restriction cleared and everything seemed to have gone well.
Now however, although my phone is picking up the network and showing reception bars, every time I try and make a call it ends instantly!
I can't send or receive text message either !
Bizarrely enough though I can access the internet through the sim!
Not saying that this will happen to you but I thought I would share it for info's sake.
[In the unlikely event that anyone has any idea how to rectify this I would be grateful for some help !!!]
Did it work before you unlocked it?
Reminds me on a bug of the Nokia 5800. The fix was to restrict nerwork access to 2g, reboot and enable 3G/mixed again.
I know its a different system, but no harm in trying... good luck

Thanks for all the input folks, turns out it was a false alarm! I bought the phone from Cex and the chancer who sold it to them had reported it stolen so the networks had blocked it. Glad to report i now have it exchanged for a new one which is working well.

OMG ive had my phone for one year and assumed it was locked. Today i read this post and decide to try a different sim....lol im so thick its been unlocked this whole time.

for some reason i cant do the above, theres no bars and when i do phone it tells me its not registered ive used my sim in another phone and works no problem
this has happened from about 2 hrs ago , also no 3g as in the symbols but the internet and market are working fine,
anyone any answers in the meantime i will flash another firmware to see if that helps

flashing doesnt change it, it just says not registered on network when i make a call
ive tried 2 different sims and when i make a call it says not registered on network what a pita

remove back cover
remove battery
remove the sim card
blow it some flesh air
put back your sim card (make sure no finger oily residue on the sim contacts)
put the battery back
put the cover back
power up the phone
dial
is the phone sim locked? Or maybe its been barred because its IMEI has been reported stolen/lost ?
Handset reported lost/stolen, I had same symptoms with Tmo simcard, 3G internet worked but couldnt make a call or send text.
i had flashed JPC thru kies then downgraded to jm1 and everything was fine apart from the KOR and the fooked up ime
so im either up $hit creek regarding warranty or hoping someone finds out how to get original ime back

Do a search for imei restore as its a known bug. I wish ppl take time out to read froyo threads. Froyo beta breaks more **** then anything

I had this exact same thing happen to me today. i sent a text message at midnight last night it sent fine and i went to bed. i wake up at 4 am for work and i have had this issue all day. full signal but its not connecting to a network.
If you happen to find an answer before anyone replys could you post the fix please, it would greatly help. and i will do the same.

I have tryed a full wipe and flashing a new rom just to se if it would help since this issue occured aswell, ive also tried taking the sim out and back in and restting and manually selecting my network provider to no avail.

ialright buddy, i just checked my imie number and it appears to be incorrect, this would result in not being able to make/recieve calls,texts. ive still not found a fix for the note 3 yet if i find one i will post it. It might be worth a check on your phone too. press *#06# in your phone dialer to display the imie on the phone, then cross reference it with the imie number on the box your note was supplied in (providing you still have the box).

i can not access odin at this period in time becasue i dont have access to windows enabled pc or laptop atm. i will give it ago myself asap (probably a few days time) if this doent work or someone else hasnt chimed in with any suggestions i am giving up on this piece of **** phone.
I dont mind bricking a device (to a degree) through my own tinkering or error. But for a phone to work fine then 4 hours later when i wake up suddenly being ****ed, is just rediculous and makes no sence.
only thing i can think of as a slight possibility (and not very likely) is i have been using crash rom since it came out and have the OTA updater installed, maybe it tryed auto updating itself over night and ****ed up resulting in these issues

Thats a not a bad shout, will give it a go. thanks always fail to over look the obvious
And also try another sim in your phone... Maybe the sim card is not being read - hardware problem

Thanks alom, this is my first micro sim phone so i dont have a spare sim to test it with myself, i will pop down to vodafone tomoz and borrow a sim of them and try mine out in one of their phones.

Went down vodafone today and tryed their sims. Their cards do not work in my phone but mine works in their phones. The lady in the shop said to re flash the stock rom and factory reset it and they will send it off as a hardware failure rather than software and hopefully they dont notice the knox has been tripped. She then said if they do notice and refuse to fix it, to put a brick through the screen and make an insurance claim.

EDIT:: it'll go to a Vodafone repair shop anyway, so they won't notice KNOX tbh. If they do, then LOL at them for actually doing their job..
Looks like it be a easy fix for them. It was nice of them to say all that and be so helpful. Looks like they know what they talking about for a change lol. ..

hehe i wasnt expecting it perhaps she had a rooted/custom rom phone too she seemed to know alot about it, she also said that the latest official OTA update from samsung has been causing this issue for lots of people on the Note 3, she thought thats what the problem initially when i said i had no service, so perhaps my blower auto updated itself whilst i was asleep if i didnt have auto update disabled? either way someones dropped the ball at samsung if there knackering phones using the OTA update.

I've browsed a lot of threads on this particular subforum and didn't find the answer to my question, apologies in advance if by some chance I missed the straightforward answer to my situation. So, two weeks ago I was in Vienna and decided to buy a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, naturally, the phone is region locked to EU sim cards only. The people selling it to me provided a sim card of their own brand (Ge-Org) in order to do the whole five minutes call thing; thing is, once I activated it (while still in Austria) I got a ton of messages in german that I didn't understand so I started googling about whether it was possible to unlock it or not and found several hits. Being that I was on vacation I just put the issue on the backburner and moved on with my Life...
...which turns out it might not have been such a good idea because now I've learned that carrier lock is far from being the same thing as a region lock. So, short story: I'm back in my country with a region locked phone and I wonder what my options are. I still have the sim card provided by the seller but no idea if that works or not; none of the threads I checked ever clarified whether you can still do the calls from abroad the base country of the phone or not. Like I said, lots of information on what my options are would be most appreciated as I won't be going to Europe for another year and I so want to use this phone long before that~.
