Slow charging after OTA? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Is anybody else experiencing a bit of a speed reduction in the charging speed (dash charging) after OTA update to OOS 4.5.6?
I thought it was just me because I rooted the phone to get the Dolby Atmos sound thingy and didn't bother me much but then three of my friends called me up asking the same thing. Is it just happening to us or everybody worldwide?
It takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes to charging it completely from 6-7% to 100%. Earlier it used to take 1 hour 5 or 10 mins.
Thanks for your feedback!

[Q] Verizon G2 battery life

Hey guys im just wondering if my battery is funky... i just got this g2 yesterday and am running off a full charge since 6:43 AM its 9:51 AM now and its at 91% i really havnt used it to terribly much since im in school but it seems that since it dropped from 100-99% at 8:34 AM it seems to be draining quite fast now even when its sleeping... i havnt messed with the settings to much so is there something bloatware or software wise thats making it run out fast or by the times given am i just tripping and my battery life is fine, i just feel like the 3000mAH should be doing alittle better than this..
THANKS in advance!
I can tell you with my Verizon G2 I get awesome battery life other day I was at 16 hours 8am-12am with 2hrs screen on time 35 mins playing games and 2hs 25min of streaming music to a bluetooth speaker. I was at 52% after all that. Don't know if that helps but that is what it is for me. Since got phone it has never dipped below 50% in up to a 18hr day for me.

are you a heavy user?
Tmobile variant
I have the Tmobile G2. I'm a bit concerned about my LG G2 battery. Can others suggest a test that we can both follow so that I can compare my battery life to yours. The phone seems to be alright when idling for 8 hours as I slept it only lost 3%. When it comes to charging it went from 0% to 52% in about an hour, and was at 90% on its way to the 2 hour mark. But when using it just to browse and stuff it seems like its dying a bit fast.
So let me know things like screen brightness, apps to run and what not so we can compare how long our batteries last. That way I can return it before my 14 days are up. Thanks for your help in advance.

i constantly close all my apps and keep my brightness high enough to see but as low as i can to see... right now my batter usage is at 4hrs and 3 mins and im at 85% currently its saying i should still have 22hrs and 47mins but that seems impossible xD
"I have a theory"
So im going to wing this out for the rest of today and let it run down without charging it agian... if it lasts me all day ill post because im having a theory that the way the battery percentages on this phone are different cause of the new technology in the battery cause it seems that certain percantages last FOREVER then others go through rather quickly i think im just used to how my old phones percentages escilated ill repost when it dies or when i go to sleep
I would say I am medium to heavy user I stream music via Bluetooth everyday talk for 30 plus minutes on Bluetooth a day and play music in car hour a day and play games hour plus a day and I leave brightness on auto never on Wi-Fi lte only and I close all apps.
I charged my phone to about 94% went to bed with it at 89%. Woke up with at 86%, 8 hours later. My brightness varied through out the day from 23-60%, currently at 40%. Mainly did browsing and fb for a bit today. For about an hour while browsing the phone was on airplane mode with Wifi on. As of now at 54%, battery usage 16h 2mins, expected time to use +18h 54mins, last 3 hours in use, used 9%.
My battery use details:
Android System 25%
Screen 22%
Android OS 14%
Chrome 8%
Cell standby & idle 6%
I run near max manual brightness, a live wallpaper, GPS, WiFi on all the time, automatically checking email every 10 minutes, lots of phone calls and texts, and I still have 79%. Off charger since before 7a.m. Software says I have 36 hours left. Best battery life I have ever had on any phone, any Rom.

That's crazy my phone has been on for 19h 29mins without all that auto sync and other stuff you have running and I'm at 35% with an expected
6h 29mins left. You think something is up with my phone ?

Well, that's still not too bad. Are you a gamer? How's your signal most of the time?
Also, I'm on VZW, in case that makes a difference.

Not a gamer, tmobile usually 3-5 Bars 4g lte. I dont get how it just dies so much off of browsing alot but so efficient when sleeping. My phone is at 11% now after alot of browsing and talking on the phone for an hour. As I type this I've been on a phone call and googling info about battery tests for 45 mins.
this is complete BS!

i have a verizon version and compared it to my moms 4s battery running iOS7
heres the deal her battery usage is like 3hrs 7mins mine is 6hrs 23mins mines at 2% hers is at 51% we both unplugged the same time so this means im getting the same battery life as a 4s running iOS 7 plus she keeps her data and everything on i turn mine off when not in use... so did i get a defective battery? cause if my battery is the same as a 4s running iOS7 im not gonna be a happy person i know i should get at least 15-16+hrs of battery use and still have like 20-30% left! UGHH and my phone reboots into the verizon logo alot when i unlock it i think i got a horribly manufactured g2... just my luck what do you guys think?
It feels like i have the original droid razr battery life agian Dx my razr m lasted longer!
Unplugged my phone at 98%, went to bed woke up with it at 95%. Then had the screen on for an hour straight just messaging ppl on fb. Now I'm at 87%, that's not normal right? Screen is on auto brightness nothing else going on.
Can anyone confim that this is normal? i have an LG g2 with 3000mah and i loose 1% of battery every MINUTE while playing games, so 10 minutes of modern combat 4 or plats vs zombies is around 10 %, 60-70% brightness, sound half way or headphones. Some people are speaking about "5h of screen time easily" while i get 2-3h ...
My battery seems fine but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not using the standard "fast charge" method to charge it over night. At night I recommend either a Wireless Qi Charge or a "Slow Charge" from a standard USB port or a smaller charger like one from an iPhone (the little cubes with a USB port).
There is a HUGE difference on battery life throughout the day between a Normal Fast Charge and a USB Slow Charge.
I only use Fast Charge when I'm out and about throughout the day but I haven't needed to do that with the G2. On my Galaxy Nexus I could fast charge it to 80% and it would be dead in 3 hours just idling in my pocket.

inaccurate estimates on charging completion...

so It was 12:17pm. i had been charging the phone for maybe 15-20 minutes already. i looked at the screen and it said "charging rapidly (30 minutes until full)...
i thought to myself, 'cool, i will check it in about 12:45pm to see first hand, regarding the reports of slow charging when upwards of 95%.
well, i got distracted at work, and next thing i know it was 1:10, i glance over at the screen and give it a tap and see... "charging rapidly (33 minutes until full)"..
anyone else notice incorrect estimates on charging time on the lock screen? think this is something that will work itself out after usage? maybe it was just a fluke.. havent really had the phone long enough to notice/test things like this out yet..
I personally don't like the new oreo battery stats in settings. There was a video of all the major phones charge rate review like where they time it and it did charge the longest. But what you have is kind of weird mine is probably similar to that

H870DS battery problems.

So I finally went through it and bought a G6. It arrived 3 days ago and since I booted up, I immediately got an update to 1st January security patch; V10u-IND. So it's been 2 whole days since I've properly started using my phone (how I used to, on previous device) and the battery life sucks balls. I can barely get through a day with maximum 2.5 hours of SOT. Even the charging is so slow. Takes about 2.5 hours to charge from 10% to 100%; Ampere shows 820mA.
I ordered a QC 3.0 Aukey adapter+Cable to see if my charging improves using that. Can someone help me with this disappointing battery life? I see so many other users getting such good battery life. I don't know what it is with mine.
I've attached some screenshots below.
Anyway, thanks a lot.
Edit: Even with a single SIM, battery life was same.

Use BBS for some days and post results.
Looking to the graph it seems that you used the phone under mobile network, is it true? G6 and V30 suffer of huge battery drain on mobile network when the signal gets weaker.
That's why you see G6 with good battery life, under WiFi is always easy to reach 4+ hours of SOT even with gaming, but under mobile network it drops to 2-3 hours.

I am a college student so for around 6 hours my 4G is on. I still don't get it why LG hasn't worked on improving the battery under weak signals. This same problem was on LG G3.
Anyway, I'll post some BBS results after a few days. Thanks a lot.

Taking a long time to charge post ATCH update!

S20+ Exynos that used to take about 1 hour to fully charge from 0 to 100%(switched off while charging) on "super fast charging" mode previously, has been now taking about 1 hour and 35 minutes on the same charging mode post "ATCH" update.
Checked this a couple of times only to get similar results..
Edit:
When phone is ON, from 1 to 100% it's taking more than 2 hours to charge.
*in both cases using the included 25W charger.
Wondering if I'm the only one facing this or the charger itself is faulty! Due to countrywide lockdown, unable to access other 25W chargers etc.. atm:silly:
Bump!

Try changing the ports. On one end it says MC19V Vietnam i think that port should go in power brick.Another end in phone.

I think Samsung has screwed something up with the last update...https://www.sammobile.com/opinion/my-samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra-isnt-charging-that-quickly-anymore/
Ffsss i'm on ATCT but i have zero problems.I myself installed camera app version 10.0.03.2 and its superfast.Fast shuter and zoom.Exynos version.I have about 6 hours of sot with 24h wifi on lot of games 120hz on.

Most recent update build is "ATCT", but clearly the charging has been slowed down since the previous "ATCH" build as per my experience.(I created this thread on 30th March with ATCH build installed, ATCT wasn't released then). True "Super fast charging" worked in ATC1, ATBM builds, not after that.
Strange if Samsung did this as part of cooling down the phone or such ..
Same here. I'm using 60W PPS charging brick with "Super fast charging 2.0". Screen says 57 minutes to full, but it takes 1h 28min.

It says MB28V, no it did no help at all when I re-checked.
The issue is either a bug or totally intentional.

def intentional they know they ****ed up with over heating so they reduced fast charge in updates for a company of that size and reputation its disgraceful

A friend of mine owns the S20 Ultra, He asked me to check if my charging speeds are alright.
I have an S20+ I tried testing it from 0-100% (switched off) and what I noticed is that the phone charged to 50% in 30 minutes. Earlier, It used to reach 55% in 30 minutes. Full charge exactly took 77 minutes (1 hour and 17 minutes). It used to take 71 minutes (1 hour and 11 minutes) earlier. My room was pretty hot in the afternoon when I put it to charge so I'm suspecting whether the ambient temperature had anything to do with it. I'm going try charging it in an air-conditioned room to see if it makes any difference. Phone is on the ATD3 firmware.
Noticed same thing on my exynos s20+
It seems this issue is only specific to the Exynos variants, as no reports from Snadragon users in the web!
Here I am snapdragon variant, same complain but the thing is I haven't received any update since march 30, I am on ATCK canada. Tried everything but it takes more than an hour.

So the culprit was the warm temperature as I suspected. I tried charging it in an air-conditioned room and it was super fast charging as usual.

I didn't mean about 5, 6 minutes of difference that usually might happen.
I did this charging test in my bedroom at 25°C (in AC) and in the hall at 32°C (without AC) already - in both scenarios it's taking approx 1 hr 35 mins to fully charge when phone is turned OFF. Noticed no difference in the last "ATD3" and current "ATD5" FW builds. It shows "super fast charging" but took that much of time as mentioned.

How much "more" than an hour ? A little over an hour is fine and that's what the norm was, at first.

As I said same complain, It takes 1 hour 20 minutes now, previously it used to take 1H 6 minutes.yes snapdragon, so u cannot blame exynos. And yes stock charger and yes while not using it.

I simply asked how much "more time" as you didn't mention previously, and I'm not "blaming" Exynos.

Mine is the same, 1% per minute since the update

Device condition

A couple of days ago I bought a second-hand G6 H870. The previous owner stated that he used the phone for about a year and then it had sat in his drawer for about 6 months until I bought it.
So far so good, it's a weird transition for me coming from EMUI of Huawei which I loved!
Anyway, the battery is ****! I lose about 10% battery after 40-50 mins of very light use, same percent after about 120 mins of standby... what gives?!
I've checked the power screen using the guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg6/comments/ahqkp8/how_to_check_your_real_battery_health/
charge full: 2890000
battery cycles are around 1000
I've managed to "overcharge" it and got to around raw/full: 3400000/2890000, it then lasted a little longer...
Is there a way to calibrate the battery? To teach it, like a car's throttle?
Also, I went ahead and went through a SAAT Service Menu - Auto Test, TA wrong failed, what is that?? Edit: checked again, now it passed.. battery still **** though.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
