Maybe not what you want to hear but replacing the screen costs about 100 € tax included. After that get a screen protector and a case.

screched screen

hello, unfortunately my new tytn's screen got scratched, any body have any idea if it can be treated in some way (beside changing the screen)? polishing or any other suggestion, please?
Is it bad?
A good screen protector usually makes scratches on the screen invisible. Also protects from scratches
Try the anti-glares from PPTechs .. which you should have done even before buying your 8525 .. they are supposedly good at hiding scratches ..

How to remove scratches from your Trinity screen

(Not sure if there has been a post about this, apologies if there has.)
Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a fairly big scratched area, right where I write the letters for the Letter Recogniser SIP which was very annoying as it prevented the stylus from gliding smoothly. I heard that I should use Brasso (~£1.30 from your local supermarket) on the screen and it has been VERY successful. It's completely removed the scratch.
Just apply a small amount with a cotton-bud and work into the screen in circlular motion (press harder for deeper scratches). Keep doing this for about 10-15 times or until the scratch disappears.
Hope this helps anyone with screen scratches or anyone wondering about using Brasso but too scared to try.
Careful
I wouldn't recommend it as too much brasso will affect the screen, It's not just an abbrasive but solvent too so you will melt the plastic screen. Over-use will make the screen look warped.
I tried this on my M500 ages ago; now if HTC have improved on the screen then hey.. go ahead but don't say I didn't warn you.
Screen protectors are a much better option. If the screen is already marked a protector would give you a smooth finish again. If thats to expensive an option clear contact sheet will also offer the same results and a roll of that will give you screen covers for the rest of your natural life.
it would not "melt" the screen - how misguided. it is a mild solvent and abrasive and so is unlikely to cause much harm to the screen unless used constantly. screen protectors look awful on a screen - especially when the device is off.

Off topic a bit. I bought an expensive screen protector from Brando.. it works very well.. but.. for some reason it (the screen protector) got scratched. any easy way to solve it? Brasso is ok? I thought if there can be any method of using .. say car wax to fill in the grooves of the scratch.
I think it got scratched when stuff like sand got attached to my face and when I list to the phone, it stick onto the scren pctr.. and when I write on it.. it got scratched.
Just be happy you had the screen protector on!
I tried to take out the scratches from the plastic cover on my Casio watch with (Crest) toothpaste and it worked FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks a lot to the Guy who suggested this solution for PDA screens.

OK it doesn't melt the screen off but it gives it a warped look if you reflect light off it.
No tricks can help
Do not fool yourself. Brasso, toothpaste, Displex all leave marks on the screen. Check it with the device off in sunlight or a strong light source.
Brando protector is expensive.
Cheap and perfect is a new digitizer (USD 8).
I just ordered two more. And whenever I get a scratch and I have time I replace it.
hmmm... Brando's protector is selling for 9-10 dollars - you can easily find cheaper alternatives.
I guess the time and hassles (and of course the warranty alone) of replacing the actual digitizer don't really worth the few bucks saved.

New screen cover

Hey,
I discovered a strange dot on the screen and have tried to cleain it off and I did but the problem is it only got away with using something sharp and that made new scratches (which are even more anyoing that that tiny dot)
So how much would cost to replace only that front screen cover which has the scratches? And is there any small chanse I can get that fixed under waranty?

I don't think this is a warranty issue. I estimate it might cost you between 50 and 150$. Not worth it unless the scratches are really bad. Buy a screen protector next time. But hey, I feel sorry for you. I would feel so bad in your situation
What about those CD polishers that kind of smooth the scratches out? Like skin off a very thin layer?
It's quite bad beacuse you see rainbow colors throug the scratches (like if it was wet or greassy)
Costs around US$ 3 here. and I mean THREE. I have been uisng it for quite some time. anti glare, anti dust and anti finger prints.
Also, always, clean the corners of the screen before applying screen protector.
hope that helps.

Replacement parts?

Anyone where I can find replacement screen + digitizer for the Xperia Play R800? I have tried everywhere with no luck.
Have you tried ebay?

Yes and nothing there except for battery covers
Hi there. There are some available now on ebay, but you have to order from Hong Kong. I typed in 'touch screen digitizer xperia play' in ebay search.
I have ordered one myself as I have already dropped my Xperia Play and the glass shattered. Unfortunately I have had trouble trying to replace the screen, I can only get as far as opening up the back cover to where the motherboard is :S
Don't want to make a new thread about spare parts.
Anyone found a replacement casing? I dropped my phone and it landed on its top, both scratching the top slider plastic and battery cover, this has annoyed me so very much.
For parts I would post on Kijiji or Cregs list to see if someone has a broken one to sell.
For the Case I though I seen some on Ebay.
For full covers/housings: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=ho...e|black&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
At prize of $50, not bad for original housing, both white and black.
There are loads of housings on ebay now. i just got my play yesterday (hell yeah ) and its second hand with a few scuffs and marks. Im gonnabuy a white housing and replace my existing one......a quick question, do all plays come with the extremely annoying screen protector thats like impossible to remove? can anyone tell me how to take it off?

Yes they do. It is a shatter proof film. Use a pin to lift the corner and it comes up easy.

Yes, they all do. Take a needle (the "office" type one with big plastic top will be the best since it's hard and easy to hold). Then somewhere just left to the back button/right to the search button you can start peeling it - screen underneath is scratch-resistant so you don't have to be extra-careful when trying to peel it. After some time you should peel it enough to grab it with fingers/nails and peel it off completely.
One helpful tip (which I found too late ) is to heat the screen with hair dryer, then it peels off easier.
Okay thanks. shatter proof eh? should i leave it on?
I usually dont use screen protectors, they annoy the hell outta me

A thin piece of plastic won't protect your screen from shattering, it's there just to keep it in one place once it shatters, make swipes harder and reduce contrast/colourfulness.
I'm annoyed by these things too
Haha yeah good point lol, ill be removing it then
And yeah the screen responsiveness is pretty crappy, but hopefully thats due to the screen protector. I came from HD2 and this almost feels resistive!
I took off the shatter resistant film with a finger nail, a pin wasn't even necessary. I started from the upper right corner.

Plastic or Glass screen protector to hide small scratch?

So yeah, I got a 1cm scratch on my screen(My first scratch on a phone ever....). No clue how it happened, although I suspect my wife's wedding ring might be to blame.
After reading it seems my options are to get a screen protector to hide it or to get it repaired (got quoted $250 for a whole new screen assembly from an authorized samsung repair centre).
$250 for a small cosmetic problem is far to rich for my blood.
So screen protector it is. I just don't know which type or brand would be better in this situation. I'm concerned less about protection and more about hiding the scratch while retaining screen clarity.
Any advice (try to keep the teasing to a minimum, I'm kicking myself enough as it is) would be appreciated.
Get a glass screen protector. I'm using a Bear Motion one. $8 from amazon. Works pretty good. Feels like nothing is on there. Can't speak about how it'll cover up a scratch though.
