I recently transferred a file from my laptop to my OP5 via bluetooth.
Opened the photo in gallery, clicked on the share button, chose Instagram. Weirdly, it doesn't take you to the photo editing page, instead you just see feed from other users.
This does not happen with the camera folder. So if I transfer the picture from the Bluetooth folder to the DCIM folder, it works fine.
Don't know if someone else faces this problem. Have tried clearing data, reinstalling Instagram
I'm on OOS 4.5.6
Thanks
J.

Dear All,
I'm sure that I have inadvertently done something, and I'm not a technical person - so far as I know I have deleted no files, but I did use the "Stop All" under running programs so that may have left something in the wrong state....
The problem is that when I tap on MSN Messenger, or the Album application, or when using File Explorer try to open a photo --- nothing happens. Simply nothing. The Pictures application launches, but there are only the file names, no thumbnails, and if I tap on where the thumbnail should be nothing happens.
Thinking that a hard reset would fix this, I copied all my files (photos, word documents, etc.) off on my SD card, did a hard reset...and expected it all to work. Nope, it still doesn't launch. There are no error messages. I am able to connect just fine with GPRS and read my emails, also use Internet Explorer - no problems with Active Sync, just these three applications not working properly. Any suggestions on what to do to correct this would be gratefully received.
I have been trying to download attachments sent to my gmail account and am having some problems.
A small pdf file (15k) will download fine, i click it, it opens, no problems.
If I download an mp3 file of a couple of meg it downloads then the icon switches to the generic unknown extension icon and nothing happens. I click the file and it says the download cannot be found, would I like to download again.
I checked all over the net, people were saying they delete the mail folders on the memory card, switch and swich back and it works, but no matter what i do, removing and resetting up the account, restarting, redownloading, setting the settings to download entire message with attachments, moving form internal memory to storage and back several times. No luck.
I found that if I go to the attacment folder, rename the file there to .mp3 it will play in media player, so it has downloaded, it's just not getting renamed and moved to the right place.
It's driving me absolutely mental now, has anybody else had any experience with this problem or got a solution?
Anybody know the location of the registry keys to set the attachment save location so I can check this also?
No?
Can anyone atleast tell me if this works for them or not, even if not the actual solution, atleast so I can stop searching for a fix if there isn't one.
ive mapped my wm6 mobile (tytn ii) so i can browse the shared folders located on my pc's hard drive.. took a while but worked it out.
i can see all my mp3's pics etc, but cannot get the phone to open them?
is there a way to do this?
i have shared the drive under a name ie "martin" and turned off advanced sharing in explorer.
map to it in the phone browser by \\martin\
then any subfolders shared on the pc, i can open and view contents via the phone. i just cannot run anything, or view pics, listen to music etc.
have i missed something or is it not possibe?
maybe the apps that should open the files do not know the network path stuff as it still is a tweak
Before if I wanted to send video on my Evo, I could just select Gmail and it would send as an attachment. After the last OTA update, I have not been able to send any video files.
Even if I just go to Gmail & try to add attachment, it doesn't even give me the option to attach videos, it just shows my pictures.
I have a stock rooted phone now, but I am sure this started before I even rooted.
Is anyone else having this problem or found a fix for it?
Not a fix, but I've got a bit of a workaround for now since I have not been able to find a solution.
-You have to make a mental note of the video name
-open gmail
-select add attachment
-select astro file manager
-browse to the folder where your videos are saved then select the video by name (there aren't thumbnails on the video files)
-then continue as usual.
Since I am sending the videos to another evo, I tested on my gmail to make sure I could open it, which I couldn't. It gave me the error "Sorry, the attachment could not be fetched." Ugh.
So, I found that if I used skyfire to open gmail in the browser and switched it to basic html view, I could then download it and view it fine.
When I clicked on it from the downloads list, it played fine, but if I tried to open it using astro file manager, I had to long click the file name and select open as - video.
So there is my long workaround for sending and receiving videos on the evo. Hopefully something more straight forward comes along.
So my wife recently made the move from an iPhone to an S5 and the Verizon Rep used the Mobile Content Transfer app to move her pics, contacts, calendars, etc from her iPhone over to her S5. The problem is that it created a 12GB file on her new phone and has taken up the majority of the phone's internal memory.
When I go into the Storage settings I can see the file. I am wondering if it is ok to delete this file. Or, would that delete all the photos and contacts from her phone?
What's my best option here? Do I need to transfer the files from the iPhone to a computer and then onto the S5? What about the contacts? I checked her Google account and it looks like they are backed up there just fine.
Yes .... You can delete the folder
I'm adding this reply to help anyone finding this thread. My wife's LG-G6 running Android 8.0 has this same folder. I deleted it without any problem. Here's what led me to it. When I looked at photos in the "Gallery" app a lot of folders (with photos) were showing up twice. I opened "file manager" and searched for one of the file names that was in both folders. It showed up twice. I looked at the "details" for each and found one of the folders was this "Mobile Content Transfer". I looked at this folder with "file manager" app but it didn't show me the duplicate photos until I selected "show hidden files". Then I remembered that I used the "Setup and Transfer" app when I first setup my wife's phone to transfer files/photos/folders from her old phone to the G6. Then it all made sense. This folder must just be a temporary folder that the app used but didn't delete it once the setup/transfer was complete. Once I deleted this folder multi-gigs opened up on my storage.
Hope this helps ........
