I'm having problem with the TouchFlo 3D Weather tab in stock rom:
after a day or two of use, the weather won't update anymore,I usually update manually everyday
it just keeps saying "Updating..." forever and doesn't connect to internet (it doesn't turn on the data connection ) and I "turn on" data connection manually and same it just keeps showing "updating"
and the ONLY solution I've found is to perform a soft reset.
After soft reset, there is no problem for updating but after one or two days this happened again and need soft resetting which is really frustrating to soft reset day after day.
I'm using edge/gprs connection and all other internet applications (youtube, opera etc.. are working fine all times.
hope there is a fix for this weather bug ..thanks
Any fix will be highly appreciated
Do you have more than one location set? I often find My Location takes ages, or fails to update - meanwhile two other locations I've selected update immediately.
With My Location, it does just seem to take a while - if I hit Update Now it will usually update eventually. The other locations update without any problem.
Hope this helps.
werdna72, thank you.. I have three locations and the problem in all locations
When i click on "update now" on weather tab ,it doesn't turn on the data connection and keep showing updating forever and I "turn on" data connection manually and same it just keeps showing "updating"
All other internet applications are working ok
If I soft reset my device, weather update for 1-2 days then the same problem come back
any fix please
Hi All,
First android device and curious if anyone else is having an issue with WEP WiFi security when opening YouTube,Google play, etc. I sometimes get the "network not available" screen when I try to open any of these apps or try to browse. When I hit the refresh button it loads the page I am trying to view. Usually it takes one click, but other times it takes 3 or 4 for the page to load and stop giving me the "no network available". I tried disabling sync in the background with Google currents but it doesn't fix the problem. I've read other threads that there is lots of WiFi problems such as the range and connecting to certain networks. I can be as close as 10ft away from router and it will occasionally happen. Now I can live with it, but rather fine a solution as pressing the refresh button fixes the problem. I have yet to discover a solution whether this is a bug or hardware related. Any input or solution would be appreciated.
Running jelly bean 4.2.1 version on a 16GB. Should state that other devices over the same WiFi connection don't have this problem.
Thanks in advance!
In the Wifi settings do you have it set to turn off while sleeping or not plugged in?
I have that checked to save battery and sometimes it takes a few secs to come back on and sometimes have to reload the page as well.

Never knew about this setting ,but I have selected to always be on since I usually shut it down at night. I can be browsing Google play for example and say I want to buy an app and when I click on it I get the no network connection page. Been reading and saw a poll here about people having WiFi dropouts. Not sure if that is the case for me. I will look into it next time it happens if the network still On ( or at least it shows its connected). Thanks for the input
Hello All,
So a few days ago I received an update with Baseband Version N910CXXU1DPI1
After the update completed and the device restarted, I noticed the wifi keeps going on and off on and off if it's not connected to a wifi network. I went to the wifi settings to make sure if any other wifi settings in the advanced menu are ticked and found that nothing is ticked which is good.
The problem disappears only if I restart the phone. Is this a common problem with this update or is it just me?
Thanks
Hi me too, I have similar problem after update to N910UZZH2DPJ2.
When I turn off wifi, the wifi icon in the notification toggle switch on and off automatically, i.e. turn green and grey automatically.
When I go into wifi settings, the switch also turn on and off automatcally non-stop.
They will stop when I connected to wifi.
I have already do a factory reset, it doesn't fix the problem. Any idea how to solve it? Thanks!

I think someone needs to report this to Samsung....I would do so but I'm not sure how. Let's just hope for a small patch that will fix this issue..it's very annoying
Yeah me too, Wiped the cache and still nothing. Wifi keeps randomly restarting off and on until i restart. But the problem comes back after restart................... Can someone Please help us all....
Thanks for the feedback guys. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I think I might just flash with Odin to the previous version, or if someone can help us that would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a way we can report this bug to Samsung?
I'm having this issue also. Is this why I'm seeing lots of posts about folk downgrading to 5.1.1; issues with the 6.0.1 roms/basebands? Before I updated my firmware I had the issue reported by another user on here where my WiFi kept turning off immediately after I tried turning it on.

I never had an issue with Marshmallow except for this random wifi on off issue in the latest update. Been on stock rom since I got my phone back in December 2014 !!!
Hey everyone I was able to temporarily fix this issue by turning off wifi scanning in (Settings > Location > Improve Accuracy). I heard somewhere on here it might have been a recent app update that is causing the issue.

Thanks for the tip 93_teg. Going to give this a try and report back.
@93_teg I did your solution and so far it seems to be working. No more Random wifi on off issue, let's hope.
Thanks for the help
@93_teg thank you so much for sorting this out it switches off now without restarting :good::good:
Thank you for the fix, I spent waaaaay too long troubleshooting this issue. I think the next step on my list was sacrificing a lamb but this works too
today's update(N910F PHN) didn't fix it.
it's probably the latest Google play services update that caused it, it received an update shortly after the October security update.

Probably, I seem to have had the issue start same time as everyone else here, and I'm on the t mobile version N910-T, and my last OS update was October 1st
I appreciate your solution, I'd working for me, i start to feel crazy, and I want to sell the phone, but I don't, thanks, sorry by my english

I received an update on my phone yesterday but have Postponed it...going to see whether it fixes the issue or not.
Thanks to all who participated in the thread...greatly appreciated
Workaround
Hello,
I confirm that the issue is due by the Service Google play. The workaround, to stop the Wifi is blinking, is :
Parameters > Applications Manager > choose system applications (Three dots) > select Service Google Play > Stop forced (and possible Stockage and clear cache).
This workaround works after each use of the WiFi.
And now wait a solution from Google (and Samsung may be).
Thanks
I am at a loss now with my phone, ever since I got the phone the push notifications came through perfect from my apps. Now the last couple weeks I have not received one push notification from any app. I've tried push notification fixer apps and its coming back as its all working correct. I want to start getting them again, but I dont know how to fix it.

I'm going to take a guess that the problem you're experiencing was the same as mine. Caused by an update to the Google app. If you have your phone paired to a Bluetooth device that doesn't act as a speaker (such as a laptop/tablet), I could see push notifications being delayed indefinitely. This is because for some reason the phone repeatedly connects and disconnects to this type device, causing an indefinite delay due to a bug in the Google app.
Hope that helps!

Well I've tried to revert google app updates and that didn't work for me, then I tried to go to the link above to uncheck the line that needs unchecked, but it wont let me do that either. Idk what's going on but its irritating me to the max. Anyone have any other advice on this issue??
so, as the title says, under security settings and under "phone administrators" i turn off the "find my device" setting but when restart the phone or even without restart this setting enable by itself alone, i want it to be permanetly disabled but i dont know how...
even when factory reseting the phone, dirty flash stock kdz and so on, this cant be disabled permanently, since when restarting ther phone keeps enable this thing everytime.
i have running under google account settings in every place and cannot find nothing related to this to keep it disable, of course i almost have sure this is phone related setting and not google fault.
anyone having the same issue? how to permanently disable this?
thanks in advance!
I have the same issue, anyone has a fix?
Edit: Found a fix! https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-universal-gms-doze-t3853710
I'm having the exact same issue with my Android phone.
