What region are you? I'm in the east coast USA and I haven't received it yet.
Got mine in Texas on Thursday evening.

Did you wipe the cache partition? They last update ate up my battery until I wiped out the cache.
Well am on July Patch main issue has been battery life for me.
On Juin Patch I was getting around 5-6 sot now its only 4-5 sot.
Performance wise, i havent seen any changes, was snappy and is still snappy

Power off the phone, power it on while holding volume up and bixby button, when it powers on, let go of the power button while holding the other 2, when it goes to the blue screen, let go of the other 2, then wait..... After it's done, choose wipe cache, then power off the device. Make selections with the volume buttons, select the selection with the power button.

I can't find the link. But download app inspector from Play Store. Open it and click on app list. You'll see all of the package names of each file. Then connect your phone to your PC and use adb shell. The command is....
pm uninstall -k --user 0 (package name)

Can I do this with an app? I suppose a reboot will be helpful...or is not needed on the EVO? I am used to having to reboot my Palm Pre to have it function at it's best.
Thanks
I haven't came across one yet. I usually reboot my phone about every 2 days, and my cache is cleaned every 24 hours.

Yeah, it's not really a requirement like it was with WebOS but it's best to do just in case.

The only thing I've seen that can do that is to use a schedule in Titanium Backup. Potentially you could have it run a backup each night and then set the option to reboot after it is done. Probably not necessary or even beneficial...but is possible.

Yeah I was gonna say, theres a free app called the power button and you press it and press it once more, if you have the four in one with your rom, you touch reboot hot restart and it takes 15 seconds...this is as bad as people who want cars that parallel park for them, how lazy can we get, no flame just saying
yes.. others have given you options to auto-boot.
but no.. it is not needed every day or even weekly.
it is not like your past OS.
i do reboot .. because I change out batteries.. when the need arises... or when I flash new ROMs.
Want a daily reboot, Just Install CM7.
oh god that was a terrible joke.

I use the quick boot app for rebooting or rebooting into recovery. The less I have to press the power button, the better. With all the flashing in recovery, I'm sure the power button gets used more than it was designed to. I don't need it to fail on me or wear out any sooner than it normally would. I also worry about the volume down button failing or sticking, haha.

Hows about you read what the guy says before you accuse him of being lazy?
Webos had a need for being restarted on a daily basis and if you ever had the displeasure of using it you would know that a restart can take up to five minutes.
Therefore some developer made an app that you can schedule to restart at some time, say during the night, so that it would get the restart its needs without you having to wait through it.
Just because the guy doesn't know something and is asking doesn't mean you need to attack him

You pretty much nailed it on the head. I love WebOs but it really does need a daily restart to run at its full potential. The reboot time was ridiculous. Setting it to restart while I was sleeping was perfect!
Thanks guys. I'll try a few of these out.
I've been looking for that power button app in the market but can't find it. Is it Sense only?

Very few people at all have gotten the OTA. Almost everyone who installed it did it manually. But if you don't want to do it manually, just wait up to two weeks and you will get it.

You don't need to be rooted or have a unlocked bootloader to install the OTA manually. But yeah, just wait and all will be good. There's nothing earth shattering in 4.2.2 anyways.
go to settings -> apps -> all
scroll down to Google-Services-Framework
force stop and delete data
then go to settings ->about-> system updates and it should say last update 01.01.1970
check for updates and it should work
it worked for me on nexus 4 and 7, i had to stop google-service-framework and delete data 2-3 times though

Of course that will break notifications (gmail, twitter, facebook, etc). So you will have to delete those accounts and clear the app data for those apps for them to work again.
im still getting my notifications... just tested with gmail. it might break them if you dont get the update?
AW: Anyone else still waiting for the ota?
I installed it manualy, after few trys with the framework-trick. But i must say I had huge problems to set adb on my 64bit win8. First the adb didn't find JDK 1.7, second the device wasn't recognised, so i installed PdaNet and it finally fired

Just flashed stock recovery IMG file.... Come on Google I'm ready!
No OTA for me yet, or my mate at work who bought one in December.
Hey Guys!
I'm from the UK and I own a completely stock, unmodified Nexus 4 and every time I check for an update, I am still 'up to date' on 4.2.1.
I have already tried the frameworks cache empty and force stop thing. It stopped all my push notifications up and destroyed my Google Account link to my phone (couldn't see it on Google Play Weblink...etc). Alas, I spent 1 hour fixing it (no phone reset, YAY!) and am in no way prepared to ever do that method again...ever! haha
Anyway my question to you is....should I worry that I haven't got the OTA yet? It's come through for a lot of people on XDA forums and after owning an Apple Device for a couple of years and being used to the instant update, I am slightly concerned....
Your thoughts and wisdom is much appreciated!
Thanks

usually OTA is released country by country
Disable location and then clear framework followed by disable and enable framework.
Now check for update.

I did it about 6/7 times but to no avail . And it screwed up my software (push notifications...etc) so I wouldn't like to try that again! I was just concerned because I haven't received it about 2/3 days after the update was released.

Don't force stop just clear the data and check for updates.
But yeah my sync stuff got messed up afterwards as well ... so I wouldn't recommend it unless you really need the update asap.
Just wait... there is literally nothing in 4.2.2 to get excited about.

I check every time someone makes a new post about the ota 4.2.2 being , which isn't very often at all...
I assume it's a measured roll out and it's not my turn yet..
For reference; I'm in the US/ Miami, Florida, considered one of the most important states/ cities in the US. And I could say that in my world I'm the most important person I know, best is that everyone in it knows me and knows this fact. Yet I've had to wait too
OP, if you're still not updated. Do the following:
select settings/apps/ALL/google services framework
DO NOT force-close, just (in this order) clear cache/ delete data/ disable app/ and re-enable app.
don't touch location.
check for update.
EDIT: correction cache 1st, data 2nd.

Has anybody tried remapping their Bixby button since Samsung announced they were going to disable the ability to do this?
I tried the remapping the bixby button on a demo unit last week and it worked awesome. I used BXactions:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.bxactions
If it's working for you on a model you bought (not a store demo) what's your carrier?
I got an OTA update right after the first setup, now I cannot remap it. I bought it from 1&1 which is a German provider.
