I would like to know what do u prefere . Custom or stock . I can't flash arrise on any custom but stock don't have all the options from custom and don't have omni switch. But stock have 2 gb ram and custom only 1500.........
Any1 help ?
ram is not an issue at all, less is better. the more ram is free, the more apps are forced to close. the more ram is used, the more apps can keep running in the background.
stock is better, because all the custom roms have issues

I know that Huawei doesn't like custom. It will probably make your phone laggy. An example: I've installed the Xposed framework, and it was fine, for a day. After that all my apps started to crash upon opening them. The more I try to upgrade my phone, the worse it gets.

Hi!
Im thinking about install a new rom to my phone but cant decide which...
I want a rom with so small bugs thats possible but still some features that makes the phone better
I installed this Clockwork Recovery for a pretty long time ago and dont remember what it do
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044585
So I wounder if I need it or just can remove it?
And if I gonna install a new rom, which Recovery is the best at the moment?
Would be very thankfull if somone with more experience could tell me their opinion!
My prefer is void. (2.2.2; #eridanus) by Noejn.
Install Perfect Recovery 4.0.0.5 and try yourself all ROMS.
Sent from my u8800 using XDA App
Okey will try that rom and recovery
But if im not happy with the rom can I then change back to the orginal?
IF you take a backup with recovery yes,!
Sent from my u8800 using XDA App
At the moment definitely VOID 2.2.2 latest
What makes void so great? Dec got rid if his phone so no more updates. Might as well use something that'll get new fw updates..
I believe that Oxygen is the best Rom at the moment. Miui is very good as well, but with Oxygen battery life is amazing (more than 40h, with wifi and BT on all the time) and it's got most things sorted.

It maybe so, but at least camera is fully functional.
So, which ROM would you suggest overall? Fully fuctional, acceptable battery life, speed etc. I'm with B137 v8.2 and I feel I need something new.
FYI, I usually clock the cpu to 1Ghz or 1,2Ghz.
then go for the v8.4 & his new kernel
http://bbs.goapk.com/thread-3177723-1-1.html
http://bbs.goapk.com/thread-3423090-1-1.html
this is the most stable rom atm with good performance. other roms are faster but some things dont work or they are not stable.
your choice.

how do you know that is. good Rom. did you tested it already? so is a room like void with Android 2. 2. 2
i use this rom for almost 2 months now. from v7 i think.
i never ever had a fc reboot etc (except 1 time i had the cpu at 1.5ghz).
everything is working fine, the only small problem lies in the modified franco kernel genokolar used (he modified it to be even more stable),
it has some problems on charging (franco's kernel had them also as i have read, i dont know if its fixed on his newest version cause the modified one is 1 version older than 20 july one).
(u can avoid that problem the kernel creates by not flashing the kernel and keeping v8.4 kernel).
here is a link that i have uploaded both 3
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V99GYVBN
dont forget to install superuser from market or root will not work without it (as everywhere else also).
for the ones that want performance its not the best out there but its still a good one.
i get 24xx at quadrant at 1.3ghz when this void user gets the same at 1.5ghz but i get lower on antutu (3018, made a 2nd run and scored 3167 if it matters) propably cause of the 0.2gz less cpu speed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15978575&postcount=326
but this oxygen user gets allot more than me on 1.3ghz http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16303582&postcount=391
(i have also 1.2gb worth of apps installed if this matters)
the good thing this rom has is stability and everything works, from what i read most other roms have things not working, bugs and not that great stability, miui is a VERY good rom also (has its small bugs) cause its based on 2.3.5 but i dont like miui style ^^ (personal opinion).
oh i forgot to mention that its totally stock (except 1 small app with reboot, shutdown etc options).
i made some changes please re-read my answer

bro, thanks for ur info.
btw, my ideos is u8800H, is it compatible also? and i had flash with muui1.7.3 (android2.3), is it can flash back? ( use recovery tools to flash?)
thanks for help.
yeah its for the u8800H also as i can remember. you can keep a backup and if you dont like you can go back anytime...
oh and flash works just fine, i dont see any reason not working.
there is a new miui version that came out before an hour, try it first cause you maybe like it better (since i see you already have miui).

Thank you very much. I have flashed your uploaded three files and would like to confirm that this v8.4 is the best ROM for u8800 nowadays. BTW, since the original ROM is from China, I do hope to have your help to keep update this ROM whenever there is a new version or any changes.
no problem, i can keep you updated, at least until Genokolar decides to put his work here.
tried the v8.4 from Genokolar on my UK Huawei U8800 and it didn't work kept looping at the start screen, so I went back to using the FLB Custom ROM

plenty of roms to choose from, and most are at least tweaked for more speed.
it just depends on what you want, AllianceRom for example is filled with customisation stuff, while SimplRom is debloated like mad.
and don't forget all other roms...but it's impossible to remove all lags though, that's just the way samsung created/abused some files
hope it helps a bit :good:
Hello there ,
I'm pretty new on this scene . I just installed CM12.1 latest release + alucard kernel and everything is fine and smooth until I play games (easy puzzle games) . I get random crashes (game quit) and freezes then reboot . First time I tought is happening because of my undervolted profile on Stweaks but I restored default settings + reflashed ROM (wiped everything) and I still have this problem .
The phone runs flawless antutu benchmark and other CPU benchmarks , also stress tests but when it comes to games it crashes in max 10 minutes of playing .
Does someone has any clue about what could go wrong ? The kernel ? The CM12.1 ? or both ?
First, wrong section.
Second, maybe you should try another rom. Alucard kernel can be flashed on any CM12.1 based rom.

I don't think he updated the kernel for 5.1 GPE.
Also, there were battery drain problems on the 5.0 GPE kernel version.

There are currently 2 GPE roms. Both are discontinued. One is untouched and the other has small modifications, which give you those settings you look for. You could also use xposed.
I tought I fixed this but it seems not , when I tried to play a game today I got a crash and reboot
I tried GPE but is kinda crap , a lot of bugs and much less settings than CM12.1
I would like to try another kernel for CM12.1 .... so far I used only alucard kernel because it seems to be the most popular , is there a stable kernel like this one ?

None that will give you better performance.
You might want to try KT kernel (For CM12 or below).
Or Googy-Max kernel (CM12 and 5.0 GPE or below).
No fix so far , tried several roms + kernels .... even stock cyanogen 12.1 rom without any kernel or tweak got this problem . It must be a hardware issue , I'm gonna sell it tomorrow , never mess with samsung again .

Yeah , right but it's 20 years old technology wich was infinite better and more durable than all these smart cr*ps nowadays .
Anyway , I am 99% sure it was a hardware problem because I flashed cyanogen without any kernel or modification and still had that problem so I changed to a Sony Xperia Z2 , bye Samsung ... 4eva .

are you restoring these games from a backup ? if you are I'd suggest before you go selling your phone try deleting the data of one of these games and then uninstalling it. make sure it's a game that you don't mind losing your progress on if that's stored on your device !
I've had problems myself with games not running correctly from one rom to another (even to the point of knocking out my Wi-Fi connection whenever I play it)... removing it completely and installing it fresh from the store helps, so give that a go before you try something more drastic.
haha, didn't read that entire reply before posting, too late then @Dragoss91

Hello i want to know wich is the most stable aosp or tw rom for i9505 and wich is balanced betwen best battery life and performance i don t play heavy games i mostly surf on internet or listen to youtube ... my modem is XXXUHOJ2
Stock will give you best battery life. I used Albe95 Lollirom, it's based on stock ROM, and you can try Imperium ROM also (Imperium ROM is best deal if you want performance and battery life). AOSP or CM ROMs are not very good at battery life, but they are faster (no crap apps and samsung bloatware). I'm currently on CM13 Stable3 by JDC Team, and i can tell you stock ROM has 1 hour more SOT (Screen-on Time) than cm13.
Stock based rom are most stable. I recommend Able Lolirom 9 - no problem with anything + Imperium kernel 4.5 or newer if relesed. Second good room is Imperium - but you can experience little problems in last version.
Before I install any room I always unzip it on windows and manualy debloat from apps I dont use or replace it to any app (must change name to apk from rom).
I will try albe lolirom 9 and inperium 4.5 since i can't update modem to install imperium v 15 can someone give me some stweaks for battery life and still that the phone to work good ?
You may also the latest Kushan ROM --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/touchwiz-lollipop-leaked-rom-i9505-t3027063. I can say that the ROM have better battery and performance as I'm currently running it on my S4-i9505(we have the same modem).
I love the new version of Imperium (v15) but having issues on cellular coverage even before/after installing the latest modem and bootloader. You may try it out and see if the ROM will work fine for you.

Which roms are the most stable?
Also which roms offer the most performance or battery life?
What kernels should i use for mm or n?
So far i tried SkiesROM UX v3.1. Which is decent but has some problems. Going to try Resurrection Remix N now.
Thanks.
I'm usig the latest stock:
Debloated, Rooted, Tweaked, Xposed
Working grea,t Stability and batterylife is the greatest.
"Best" is subjective
You'll have to try them out to see what you like the best. Read the threads of each ROM to see what to expect for stability/battery/performance
I am using viper os it's buttery smooth it's on android 7.1.2 and it's blazing fast
Performance?
Any recent AOSP ROM on 7.1.2. RR if I had to pick.
Battery life?
Rooted, debloated, stock Sammy ROM
Stability?
Same as above. Stock ROM.
Kernel?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Included kernel.
just installed latest and its really good (subjective) https://download.lineageos.org/kltedv

Root? SuperSU
xposed? Check xposed for Samsung thread
Had my S5 for more than two years, and the circle is closed. Will be running stock with Magisk, Xposed and the Boeffla-kernel for the rest of its remaining life (1-2 years). Most important for me is stability and battery life. I miss the synchronised volume with BT though that LinageOS got.

Yes. But it's an old Securitylevelpatch and some useful apps from samsung ain't on board.
Can you please give me suggestion what to do with my Samsung S5? (just root phone and leave stock or install some rom?).
The reason I want to root is that now phone is sometimes slow. I have problems with messenger and whatsap apps for the past 1 year. Also there are some random bugs where phone freeze for several seconds or just restart.
For me, it's most important that phone and internet are stable/no freezing or dropping (I share internet from phone to PC for work). Also, I would like top
not have so many applications.. only those necessary and I will install what I want from google store.

Try crdroid. It's has great battery life, is really fast and no bugs, as far as I know. Been using it for months now.
Using first 6.0.1 stock rom, and all is good.

Old thread but why make a new one for the same question. What's the best performance/battery rom for nougat right now? I'm on KLTE. Tried crDroid then went with stock lineage and I honestly think its crap.
