Please can anyone suggest to me a stable ROM that consumes minimum amount of resources/RAM for the 1gb variant?
A very special thanks to all the Devs who work really hard to port/create any ROM for this device.
Thanks to all your selfless passion, hard work & support, we end users can experience flagship quality in a budget phone.

Of all the Official ROMs out there, which ROM do you think is the most RAM friendly?
Might as well use that until we get an official SlimROM.

This is probably the closest I could get to an Official SlimRom, so thanks a lot for that.

Which is a best rom for zte blade? Is there anywhere an unbranded version?
I'd say Ginger Stir Fry is far the best rom for Blade at the moment, however you can give CyanogenMod a try, but if you consider yourself as an average user, then GSF might be the best rom for you.
Agreed

Sounds good. I previously had JJ and am now on SS, but am looking for a stable 2.3 based ROM. CyanogenMod still has some issues (the stable 7.0.3 release reboots when a USB charger is connected, to name one), though the nightly builds of 7.1 are better I hear. Think I'll give GSF a go if that is considered the most stable ROM right now - speed and stability are my primary concerns.
Guess the official guide is this one.
CM after N127 is excellent.

Fair enough, but how does it compare to GSF?

The main plus is the CM extras. It seems faster generally but scrolling isn't quite as smooth as GSF IMO. Battery life for me has improved as well since N127, it's probably not quite as good as GSF though however I think that's more to do with the .35 kernel GSF has. In regards to stability since 7.1 I've found it as stable as GSF.
Overall, I think they're both excellent in different ways. There is no 'better', it ultimately depends on what you want.
Thanks the feedback. I'm opting for stability, so I installed GSF. Very nice so far, I'll know more as I use it over the next few weeks.
Although I'm using GB Stir Fry, really missing CM and its extra settings. Actually the biggest and perhaps only advantage of GB, is its wifi driver. Even wbaw admitted, without it, he wouldn't even had considered to start developing the Stir Fry series.

Not having used CM, what are these extra settings? And for that matter, why can't the CM developer use the wifi driver used in GSF? Is it proprietary?

Probably because they haven't got the source for it.
Im trying Elitemovils rom right now but have been using CM7 for some time after a month of experimentation on other roms.
My initial comments are that its super smooth and everything works nicely.
He has even added a mod now to put power tools in the notification bar which looks very cool and is ofc super handy.
GSF works brilliantly for me and I'm hoping wbaw will be continuing to develop it here
Thanks guys, now I'm on CM 147. But there are some bugs: missing elements in some games, wifi doesn't come back on after the phone wakes up. But there are some workarounds

Not to gossip, but do you know what he was banned?
I currently have GSF Beta 15.
1)
Is there any reason to update to Beta 17?
Is the leaked kernel worth it?
2)
Are there still GPS problems in CM7 as it is working perfectely with GSF.

have you tried?
guys can you please tell me what is so cool about ics?
why everyone wants that?
xewier its very nice you will try that but it will never work 100% until there are more official ics roms!
I´ve tested with samsung gio and evo 3d ics and to be honest it isn´t so special...
don´t get me wrong I appreciate that all guys here would love that and I don´t have any problem with that but I think its wasted time...
you could see developing rom as a challenge
in my opinion it is fun to port something and afterwards you could say yeah i ported ICS to our device
so let the people do their work and dont criticise them
since its their time they can do with it what they want ;-)
and btw
good luck!
okay thanks for all

1- a lot of new features and options (lockscreens, widgets, multitasking interface, swipe to remove notification etc etc etc ... )
2- gpu accelerated interface (unlike froyo nad GB that use CPU accelerated) , which obviously saves some cpu power.
3- if someone ports it, it would be AOSP , so more free RAM and less samsung crap =>better multitasking and performance in general.
4-better looking UI and theming
and a lot more, but i think these are enough to make a point
just write 99 at the main menu and get the ported rom at the "output zip" folder

the challenge arguement is funny and true =)
I didn´t and I don´t want to critize the people who are actually porting something for our phone, I just don´t get why ICS is so important for all people (excepted the challenge factor) The real big changes in ics are faceunlock (which we will maybe become with the next stock rom) a new launcher and new settings can be make...
Please don´t think I totaly against Ics, it would be nice to have it, but I think with the troubles we will have to face with ics we could instead build a stable cyanogenmod 7.2...
(just a little opinion from one lonely guy )

1,2,4 I dont disagree with this points....
3. ICS would have more performance as stock-rom, but I´m the opinion that cyanogenmod would be more quicker, because ics needs more ram then 2.3.7 does
-->Cyanogenmod quicker then ICS
If I´m wrong I would like to get corrected...

yes we all agree on that , but we are all aware the samsung will not give us an official ics rom, so there's nothing much we can do about it.

the answer to this is related to my first reply, of course when u have a stock rom, the hardware should work as it should, cyanogenmods (all versions) usually have issues with cameras for example, especially if they don't have the drivers for it. and this matter is not the only issue with cyanogen, they have other bugs too, but they also introduced a lot of tweaks and new stuff. so in the absence of an official rom (which we would tweak) , porting is our only option.

I know that i9305 has 1GB more of RAM and has LTE but im confused about developer support. Everyone says that it has almost none developer support. Does that mean that even Samsung wont develope new updates and it will have less features than i9300, or it means that it wont have as much custom ROMs as i9300 has ?
If i9305 has the same updates and the same features that come with those as i9300, then ill go for i9305 for sure
And BTW i dont need LTE
Hope someone will answer fast

Well i kinda dont have money for better device And i find S3 the best phone for me right now but that developer support for i9305 bothers me
And also do i really need that extra 1GB of RAM ? I saw videos on youtube and only difference i noticed was that i9300 needs to reopen apps after it consumes too much RAM and that makes him a bit slower than i9305 everything else seemes exact same

Get the i9305. Even without the dev support, you'll still be able to find one or two decent roms. And these days everything is achieved by Xposed anyways. The newer updates from 4.3 on will really need the extra ram.

Well the dev support is great with 9300, also i don't see ram as an issue too. It depends upon whether he's a heavy multi-task user or lowe multi-task user? I'm pretty happy with 200-300mb ram free always

If we get stock 4.4 on our I9300, won't it be supposed to consume less ram than stock 4.3 ? After all the whole point of KitKat was less ram consumption.
I'm actually expecting when samsung releases 4.4 for our device it will greatly improve multitasking... hope I'm not wrong.
I know it's still early.. but there seems to be a lack of ROM development for the S5 nowadays...
still hoping for the GE to come.. sigh..

thank you for the links. being more than a novice in ROM development, I must say it is quite intimidating to attempt such a feat..but as frederick douglas said: without a struggle, there can be no progress..
so yes i just might give it a shot, or perhaphs start with a port of the resurrection remix (or is that harder?).. i imagine i need to ask for permission form the devs as well.

hi @IOIDroid,
thank you for the follow up. the issue with the stock rom, even when debloated its that it eats up your RAM,
for example, i have barely 400MB free on 2GB (1.8 to be exact)
there are rumors of a GE version of the S5 that will come but im not holding my breath..
as mentioned above, i really like resurrection remix, i believe its based on CM, so sadly it probably wont be able to take advantage of the s5's IR emitter.
in any case, if you are willing to spearhead this project, I would very much like to assist in any way i can, even if its just testing the freshly minted rom ..

I'm seriously thinking of buying one of these with the "1.7GHz octa-core Cortex-A7 CPU; 2 GB of RAM" version.
I'm not real happy and the operating system but I have read that lollipop has been installed and there are instruction for doing so.
However it did not state which version it was installed on?
Will it work on all versions?

The obstacle against better ROM's is the lack of the kernel source.
This why developers here don't do much with Miui.
Don't see this changing, so just have to find ROM's elsewhere.

Can only get 3G as it lacks the bands for LTE.
There is a newer version out for 4G/LTE.
Not sure if it has the bands necessary for the U.S. since it is sold in Asia
and Europe.
