[ROOT] [GUIDE] How to cure lag in EMUI 4 - Honor 6, 6 Plus General

Are you having problems with your Honor 6 being very slow, laggy and choppy? Hopefully these instructions will help you:
Please keep in mind that this will disable most of the battery saving features that Huawei has put in (which are too aggressive imo).
1. Make sure your phone is rooted
2. Download an app which can freeze apps (Lucky Patcher, Titanium Backup, App Freeze, etc)
3. Freeze the following apps:
* androidhwext
* HwPowerMonitor
* Power Genie
4. Results?

Well thanks for sharing your research. It works well as u said .
But after appreciating you for the efforts u showed , i would like to make u know that "freezing those apps" will lead to much battery drain at the cost of performance . As we know battery drain isnt a good thing to speakout, this guide will surely be lovable for all those performance lovers

My SE Xperia Arc is sluggish!

Hi all ,
Bought my Arc two months ago and loving it , however I’m little bit annoyed with its sluggishness. Whenever I exit any APP like email, games etc. APPs in desktop isn’t not appearing promptly and scrolling to other pages becomes literally very slow and sometimes freeze for a while! I occasionally can’t answer incoming calls, I keep sliding to answer but no response . I’m not quite sure what could be the reason.. although I’m not using any task killers apps, and my Arc is NOT rooted. And I always make sure that before installing any APP it is compatible with SE Xperia Arc and from Android Market!
I’d appreciate any help guys, is there anybody facing the same ? is it a manufacturer flaw ? is there a fix for my problem ?
I’m using Gingerbread 2.3.3.
Thanks in advance
No idea, mine flies...
How much free memory?
I have the neo which is pretty similar phone, I had a issue mush like yours 2 days ago, so i checked to see what running in the services there was an app using 80 meg of memory which seemed alot so i removed the app and now its fine, it was this app https://market.android.com/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle&feature=search_result you may have this app or a different app thats doing something similar
Also suffering with this. Sometimes my phone will freeze going into dialler even when I have an app killer in the background.

Hi .. Thanks for the response
i notice the amount of free memory varies from 67 MB to 96 MB as max. could this be the root cause ?

Thanks for the reponse i'm not sure if i have APP using similar amount of memory MB ! what is the maximum limit of MB allowed per APP ? what tool are you using to determine that ?

You have to have good amount of RAM left. It's in the system, you can easy check this out.
And I personally don't recommend any background task killers.

My advice is get ur arc rooted, u will benefit much more from this. In addition, using Autokiller Memory Optimizations, it would serve ur sluggishness well

Thanks, can you please elaborate on how rooting my Arc would serve the sluggishness issue ?

Actually, I suggest you make a back up of important stuff and then use SEUS to repair/reflash your phone.
A fresh phone might just solve your worries. Good luck with it.

There are many stuff u can do when u get ur fone rooted:
+ Remove the bloatware that I'm pretty sure consuming a lot of both memory and battery
+ ur able to use tweaked kernel (made by DoomLord & if2 atm) or software like Autokiller Memory Optimizations which can optimized ur phone running smoother & faster. Besides, there is kind of handy script for arc called v6 supercharger. it is reportedly working on arc so well (no sluggishness, no lag)
+ and so many more u can find out of ur own accord
By the way, my arc is running perfectly with normal use. it can easily run for at least 2 days without recharging battery and smoothy as well.

You require an unlocked bootloader for that.
You don't NEED an unlocked bootloader for root.

This is the problem here, your phone does not like iOS users.
Just kidding, any of the solutions above (rooting and removing unnecessary stuff or reflashing ) should solve your issues.
Good luck !
I used to have the same problem. Facebook Integration was the problem... I disabled the sync and removed the photos being synced with it. Also removed most of the widgets and the phone wasn't lagging as much as before. I ended up rooting...

Hi guys,
I am not a privileged one yet so just waiting here and there. hope to post build to 10 posts if it is necessary to get a little guidance or help. Don't think I've ever asked on here before. I have flashed my SE X10i before and found it straightforward when following a walkthrough guide .
So last night my phone crashed like it sometimes does when overloaded with background apps, yeah even ones that are disabled to startup there are self restarters and ones that often restart when WiFi connects. if this happens while having numerous windows open in a web browser and your WiFi drops out and then reconnects it can slow down phone very much. Weird how Android does not check for RAM use before doing allow apps to do that. I was running 2.3.(2 I think). Well, my phone is now bricked. After it crashed it bricked itself like it has for many others with an X10i. I am looking to buy a new sim free phone in a few months but need this back working in the meantime. Not too big a fan of HTC but like the look of the One X but may go with a phablet if Samsung make one better than the Galaxy Note (as much as I like it already).
I checked several threads for ROMS but they all seem to be deadlinks - removed from web file hosts.Do you have one (working URL) for me to try, preferably an upgrade one to try out? Higher version than 2.3 and with a guide if possible.... Thanks! I do not have time to read much on here right now so please excuse me if I overlooked one.
I am not allowed to post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236189&page=38
So would doing this be suitable for my bricked X10i without doing a backup since it is messed up anyway

Appreciate help with this, thanks!
ya its fine as long as u know the exact procedure of what needs to be done !! go ahead ..as u have already messed so just give a try then !!
why u not allowed to post just check the discussion thread for the rom page which u have added and u can post there !!
Try DonetHD Jelly Bean. My x10 works great on this ROM. Battery life and speed is fairly decent as well.

If you need a fast ROM, cm7.2 roms are your best choice, it is fast in all functions that you need to use daily, especially the speed to turn on the camera. The speed to turn on camera is fastest in cm7.2roms.
Others cannot compare to them. Feralabs' are fast, thgo2 is fast, however, turning on camera need at least 3secounds [using camera ICS -you could download from play], however in mokee os, it takes only one to two seconds to turn on it.

khalid1210- for Gingerbread try FXP130-CM7.2 and for ICS try FXP129-CM9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410219
FeraLab_ICS! It's very beautiful, smooth, with many new features, stable, ok for daily use and has great battery life. Very awesom rom!!! Camera now working (not 100% full), just download the app Camera ICS from Google Play store and download Zdzihu's camera fix for ics. Here is a awesome modification by me:

[APP] Greenify [ROOT] - solve your battery issues (not created by me)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned it on this forum yet, but it has to be one of the best apps I've downloaded. I had major battery life issues the first weekend I got my Nexus 5, then I installed Greenify and was really shocked by the results. I'm currently at 43% going on 13 hours, and I've had better! Highly recommend you all to try it out

It's because there is a dedicated Android apps section - and it's mentioned there. We don't really need a "Greenify" thread in every device forum.
This section is only really for apps specifically for the Nexus 5. Stock apps, modified apps and themes for N5 users.

What apps is out there to enhance the speed and battery life of the device.....and I mean REAL enhancement not the likes of battery doctor and this ****ty apps
And is there different types of rout or what?
And what about the next update? Would I be able to get it?
And at last what is the best custom rom for the 601?

I try to answer every question ... first i think u dont need more speed for the device... its fast .. thats no reason for root in this case...
In terms of battery life however you could root to debloat all uneccecary apps like nox or samsung watch on which are constantly running in the background... In my case I dont root for fancy stuff like custom roms.... I like stock and add stuff to it like you would call enhancements...
Titanium backup is great to backup every app... even system apps.... it backs up all even if the app doesnt allow it ... and you can freeze or unistall the whole bloatware with it... so your device is clean and you can disable any rouge app draining battery... sure you can also change cpu frequency with programs like set cpu.. but as I said device is fast ... if you want save battery turn power save on ... if you try underclockibg further you will probably run into lags... however you can manage cpu frequenzys with tasker .. so u can set frequenzcys for each app individually... but i think its not worth the trouble.. power save mode is enough... so for the next update you probably wont get it on the normal way... need to flash it manually ... probably ... im not sure yet how knox security handles that.... for types of root there are different methods... cf autoroot seems to be the easiest one ... im not sure though if it would work for your device since u have 601 model... if you plan on root make sure your model is supported for the method u choose... last words there is alot of stuff you can add with root...most of it is not worth rooting for... like changing boot animations or icon of your battery .... but if you want full acces or want to get custom roms... some of them save more battery yes... but you kinda loose your stock experience with it.... you can modify your stock experience with the xposed installer while keeping all stuff you like... dobt expect wonders when it comes to performance and battery life when it comes to custom roms ... thats all hope icould help ... wrote with a note 2014 edition which is not rooted?... yet

Just one more thing, you void the warranty if you root ( at least with the current root options that tripp the security knox fuse, for the time being it's irreversible )
so that might be a small issue to consider
with some luck a knox-safe root solution might pop up...soon...maybe...

np bro ... give it some time ... maybe some risk free root method like framaroot shows up ...
until then enjoy ur fast device ... I overclocked my old note 10.1 .. but it didnt do much ... about 5-10 & more speed ... but thats not noticable in overall performance.... not worth rooting for cpu stuff... you can get some stuff to work with root .. the question is do you need that ...
I give u a few examples which come to mind...
recording footage of your device ... for lets plays or stuff
- advanced features for tracking apps ... ahaha i have some stuff installed on my dads device ... enough said
-cpu stuff .. as I said not worth so much
- change behaviour of buttons / customize your navigation and status bar ...
- free some apps of ads
-there are some neet hacking ähm security test apps
-change resolution / dpi
-customize in general
I find it most useful for cleaning up samsung bloatware & backup my app data ...
there is tons of small features you can get with root ... but most of it you can get without root too...
if you are bored and your warranty is void sicne 2 years passed ... you should root ... just for the sake of it ...

It's impossible to root without tripping Knox. It's s an actual fuse that burns out. Once this is fine, you'd have to physically replace the mother board

np keep asking ... what I do for battery saving is turning power save mode on , using low brightness and let my wifi go on and off automatically ,
I also did some underclocking on my nexus 7 / note 10.1 old model ... but it always comes with increase of lag .... which sucks ... thats why I love power savign on samsung devices .... this underclocks to the excact right level which saves energy but doenst hinder performance..... you dont need more than that.... well for non samsung devices which dont have power save ... this might be useful ... samsung does it right without root though... well ofc and before you let your device go on standby .. close all apps with recent apps manager... but thats basic stuff ...
these battery saver apps are useful for turn on / off wifi automatically .. or whatever connection u use
I use juice defender on my older devices which have jellybean ... because it has a feature to change color temperature at night .... its very pleasing for the eyes it also saves extra battery on amoled screens i could explain why but that would take too long... I also recommend f.lux which is the original programm on pc ....
for my note 2014 im using "IC commander" which is basicly the same as juice defender without the color temperature feature.... [turns wifi on after I unlock at lockscreen] ofc you can do turn wifi on / off yourself ... but i would hate pushing that button all the time ... the cool thing is when you have a case with magnet lock ... you just need to close the case and your screen goes off ... and if you have that app wifi goes off too^^ .. no more buttons to press ...
check out my youtube channel its not about tech stuff but I have 1 video of my both old galaxy note devices in their cases xD
its actually about anime & game movies ... maybe its to your liking

[Guide] How to get the most out of your brand spanking new G3!

Just thought I’d put a short guide together on what I think are some things to do to get the most out of your spanking new LG G3 when you get it or you already have it. Most of you guys might already know most of this or might not. Just thought it might help some people. This ain’t rocket science but every little bit helps!
Battery:
This is the hardest thing to do because like a fingerprint everyone has a different set up with apps and how they use their phone (wifi vs 3g vs 4g etc) that screen on time will always vary. Also you don’t want to turn everything off and cripple your brand new smartphone just for your battery. There’s a balance.
However here are some general things to do that do help:
1. Install Greenify from the Playstore. I have found this is the number one way to stop drainage. This app will hibernate apps when not in use. It doesn’t stop their functionality at all but hibernates them.
2. Don’t use Google Now. I think it’s a gimmick and does bugger all for me however if you use it it will drain your battery big time. Of course if you love it then use it!
3. Don’t use location services. Another big drainer. Just use it when you need it. However if you have apps that need it then of course leave it on!
4. Use ‘auto’ on screen brightness. Mine is on ‘auto’ but at 100% and the brightness is perfectly ok for me.
5. If you continue to get big drainage then download Betterbatterystats from the Playstore and look at the ‘wakelocks’ – this way you will be able to see what’s draining your battery. As a general rule your phone should go into deep sleep for at least 80% of the time.
With this phone I am getting around 5 to 5.5 hours Screen on Time. You should be getting around that too.
Performance:
Here are a few things only that really do help with speed and performance:
1. The whole thermal throttling thing is a pain i.e. LG’s decision to turn down brightness when it gets hot. However there is something you can do and which I have now done for two weeks with no adverse problems. Turn it off! Put this in the phone app: 3845#*400# and then scroll down to 'high temperature property' and switch to enable and do the same for 'thermal daemon mitigation'. Please note my model is ‘400’ so this will work in the number sequence above. For models with other numbers I am pretty sure you just substitute and put that number in e.g. 855.
2. Go to Dev Options and change the transition animation scale, the animator duration scale and the window animation scale to 0.5. This little thing speeds up your phone like nothing else.
3. Root your phone with towelroot. One click root! And then start debloating. Get rid of whatever you want by downloading Titanium Backup and going into each app and freezing whatever you want. Freezing is safer than uninstalling but does the same thing. Debloating is a must!
4. So once rooted then start using xPosed modules by downloading and installing the xPosed framework and then rebooting.
These are my personal Top 3:
a. Download the brilliant xPosed module ‘TweaksBox’ by P_Toti located at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792242
And donate something to him! This allows you to change so much with this phone. I dunno where to start. It is superb.
b. I dislike the LG skin so immediately download the Google launcher – to me it is the fastest launcher out there beating Nova and Apex. This launcher cannot be customised however there is a fantastic xPosed module that allows you to customise everything - Xposed Gel settings located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xposed-gel-settings-t2647275
And donate to him too!
c. How good would it be to extend your nav bar seamlessly if you slide your finger! Well you can – download Xtended nav bar here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xtended-navbar-t2787228
And donate to him too!
I can’t think of anything else but these things definitely help.
And get ready for your G3 – it is super duper great!
lol donate this donate that, you sounded like their marketing... nice tips though, I'd like to ask between betterbattery stats and gsam battery monitor, which one better?
will towelroot work on the d855 version?
also what is the difference between greenify's hibernating with titanium backup's freezing?

Ha yes someone's got to donate! They do so much and get so little.
Yes the only reason I said bbs is because I'm used to it. Gsam does the same thing essentially.
Yes from what I read towelroot should work.
Greenify hibernates an app in the background if you are not using it whilst freezing apps effectively uninstalls them without the pain of then being actually uninstalled. And you can unfreeze them any time.
okay, again thanks for creating this thread, btw how do we take screenshots from g3?

Didn't you mean volume down and power button? Is rather easy to do compared to other phones because it only takes 1 finger (pun intended)

If you turn off the "Ok Google" listener you will save most off the battery drainage, I find Google Now pretty handy.

Yes sorry i meant the button at the back!
What we need is a lost of LG apps that can safely be frozen, and what it is they all do.

Yes I've debloated some but just the safe ones. There's heaps there though.
How are you finding yours? I'm loving mine but just hoping more developers get on board. Tell your developer mates please!
Is there any danger turning off the thermal thingy. Could the phone completely overheat?
I'll just confirm for anyone wondering that indeed the turning off the thermal throttling does work by changing the device model number to "855" on the UK version
No adverse effects in last half hour or so and have been trying to run demanding tasks to see how it go's
You can uninstall all of the bloat without any issues. It also helps with your battery life. I usual get 4 hours of screen time post charge. That's more than most people can get on a stock kernel, and it's great for a 2k display.

Go to settings, General, About phone, Software information and tap on the build number 7 times. Then go back to General, scroll down and you'll see Developer options.

omg thank you, no idea there is a magic code that hid it lol :victory:
surprised this thread does not get more attention, I guess most xda members are experts...
btw does g3 has pre installed torch app (cannot find it in mine, I'm pleasantly surprised that there is just little bloatwares pre installed in my phone...) ? if not what is the best non bloated torch app to use?
and also I'm such a noob, can someone link me a guide to use tapatalk efficiently?
thanks for the help
No torch/flashlight app preinstalled, you will have to install one. Also no task manager that I can see.
What is the best torch app you recommend?
Also task manager? Doesn't the android multitasking app work finely for that?
I am using"flashlight hd led" which seems fine.
Yes android does, I just liked the task manager on the G2, not sure why they didn't keep it.
