zte quartz watch force watch to use phones number - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Like the title says is there a way to force my watch to use the phines number. Google says on there facts page it does it automatically while connected to bluetooth but it still uses the watch's number.

Sure, just go to Settings --> Connectivity --> Bluetooth --> at the bottom of the page, turn on the last option "Phone Voice Calls on Watch"
That will allow you to answer calls made to your phone from the watch and to place calls from the watch using your phones number.

[Q] Fring SIP on Imagio

So I am attempting to set up a VOIP calling solution to replace skype/fring after their spat. I'm using the google voice --> SIPGate/Gizmo --> Fring method with the iDailer/iContact app as detailed on lifehacker and other places (can't post external links yet).
Everything is set up correctly, as when I have SIPGate forward calls to my mobile number (using Verizon minutes) it works like a charm. However, despite the fact that the SIPGate control panel shows fring as a connected VOIP phone (fring is subscribed to SIP account properly) and fring rings correctly, when i attempt to pick up I get the following error dialog
"Unable to make a call. Please correct the date on your device and restart fring"
Any help would be appreciated. My device date is obviously correct. Fring is connected over 3G cellular broadband, and seems to do other things (like call fring-to-fring and AIM correctly).
I'm having exactly the same problem on an HTC Tilt 2. Quite frustrating and I'd love to know if there's a solution.
When fring is booting...read the fine print and read its manufacturer date... i.e. mine said 2006-2008.
Then set your device date year in that range. Try that. That way i don't get that error message, however my phone freezes up as soon as i make a call. Working on that issue.

[Q] Could any of you clever Devs look into Phone

I was wondering if you clever devs could look into adding phone functionality to the adam 3g model ?
it should be capable and would be handy for the odd occasions with a bluetooth headset.
The early tablets and recently at ces the tablet had phone icons on the desktop so im sure its at least a possibility !!
many thanks in advance
On the Battery Use, I have seen a "Phone" process.
Maybe it is already activated, but not used
You can get to the phone section via "contacts" but when you try to make a call it says "call ended" after you hit the call button. From the FCC docs, it says that the Ericcson F3307 3G card is "voice" capable so in theory it is possible! The only thing even close to phone functionality that does work is the sending/receiving SMS messages atm.
Just a shot in the dark, but does google voice's data calling use the same process?
yes and it sucks. it only stinks that the google voice works over data and not wifi. so i cant make a call over wifi if i dont have a valid sim card in.

Wifi SIP Calling

Hi, I'm new at this android thing, I got a samsung galaxy s plus, everything seems fine but one problem, when I am connected to my wifi and every time I want to call someone when I press the call button and enter the number and press the green call button it starts asking me to use SIP calling, I don't want that I want to use my cellular network to call, is there any way? Or do I have to turn off wifi every time I want to call?
Did you install any SIP software? Do you have a good cellular reception?
I have never experienced this issue while on wifi (and at home I'm almost always on wifi).
aside from Skype I have something called voipalot i use that for international calls
What happens when you remove this app? Skype should not be the culprit, have this installed too. No problems with it.
Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA App
I had this problem with skype installed... Whenever I tried to make a call, a pop up usef to ahow up, it gave me 2 options, Skype and Phone... to avoid further pop ups, just click on 'use this program as default' check box at the bottom and select 'Phone'..... Pop up will not happen again...
I use csipsimple for me is the best.

Google Search Call - Use Mobile Network of Smartphone for Call

Hello Guys,
I installed a Pumpkin Android Head Unit with version 4.4.4 in my old Opel Astra H.
Everything works fine so far but I have one question.
If I use the Google App trying to make a call, I always get the message "Mobilfunknetz nicht verfügbar"... Dunno exactly in english, something like "network not available". That's for sure correct like it is, because google tries to call via the integrated mobile network.
Is there a chance to use the mobile network of my connected bluetooth smartphone?
So the process should be
Speaking to my HU -> "Ok Google -> Call xyz" -> The HU passes the signal to my smartphone and I make a bluetooth call over my HU mic with the mobile network of my smartphone.
If I use the "true contacts" App everything works fine... I select a contact and I'm able to make a bluetooth call. But with a "Google Now" Search it's not possible.
Thanks for your help
Regards
thx

Problems making/receiving calls out of the blue after Oreo

Im on Oreo OTA since June 18. It killed the nextradio app but had been treating me just fine. Until yesterday/today. I just spent almost 2 hours on the phone with sprint due to my phone not receiving or making outgoing calls and voicemail not working. "The number or code you have dialed is invalid message 7 code 383" I rebooted, reprovisioned, and re-did handsfree activation, updated prl, and profile, all to no avail. SIMPLE fix is this: Deactivate Wifi calling. Dont just toggle it off you actually need to push deactivate from the 3 dot settings menu and then when it shows you the address etc. push deactivate service again. Then they had me restart phone and calls and voicemail worked again. Apparently there is a national issue affecting samsung phones where the wifi calling is screwing everything up. Rep said it affected 1 million people. Just wanted to post my experience to save others the wasted time. I dont post much here but I've been lurking since HTC hero/S4 days.
Somewhat unrelated but maybe helpful is that nextradio emailed me back and they figured out that its the google assistant interfering with the audio in their app.

Hello,
The recent Android Oreo (8.0) update on Samsung Galaxy S7’s smartphones impacts FM listening in the NextRadio app if you have the Google Assistant voice detection enabled. We have identified the issue and are working with Samsung to resolve.
As the interim workaround you can disable “Ok google” detection with these steps:
1. Hold the home button to open Google Assistant.
2. Tap the drawer icon.
3. Tap the three dot hamburger menu icon.
4. Tap Settings.
5. Tap Phone.
6. Slide the “Ok Google detection” or the “Access with Voice Match” switch to the OFF position.
