Hi all,
Recently I purchased the 32GB Nexus 7. It's been all right, however since last week it's beginning to have troubles. When I tap on the screen, the input registers on a random part of the screen.
Before you ask:
the device is on 4.1.2 and is 100% stock, was rooted but I reverted to check if it would help
updating to 4.2 does NOT fix the issue, in fact it makes it worse
I have tried reinstalling the touch drivers from XDA about a thousand times (yes I did do the right build version) to no avail
Rebooting helps, but the issue comes back after about five minutes. I want my Nexus back!
Any help that you have would be appreciated.
A video of the issue in question can be found below. Sorry for the poor video quality...
And, if I get this problem on my new slate, what other tablets could you recommend? That's probably a last resort, though, because I LOVED this tablet until the touch issue.

I have my nexus 4 for a year now, it's a pretty good device but recently I'm experiencing strange issues, It first started with the soft keys suddenly not working so even after rebooting they would only go away after some time then I tried switching to a custom ROM it worked fine until the problem happened so I flashed the stock android 4.4.2 and same thing but actually now I see ghost touches and the softkeys not working !!! I read that replacing the battery might fix it is it true ? If it is then why? Any way to solve this ?

Hopefully im posting this in the right place. If not please move it to the right location.
here's my question/issue... when i use/used tunein radio on my note 3 with the newest version worked fine. With the note 4, with the screen on works fine but when the screen turns off i get random hicups (split second cutouts) and it gets kind of annoying after a while. This is on my mobile conection i don't have "restrict background use" checked. Any one else ran into this issue? Am i the first one(the only one)? Can it be the unit itself?
so heres a bit more info. installed winamp and used shoutcast. Same issue. Kept the screen on for 10mins. No (cutouts,jitters)..
And after listen carefully to music i have on my phone it also does the same thing but at a way lesser rate.. Its a hicup/skip in the song.
Looks im the only 1 with this issue.
too bad i rooted it. Cant even claim warranty.
Hello, i'm from France and I have the same problem with Tunein on my Note 4. Tunein works fine on my Note 3. Anybody found an issue for this problem? Special thanks!!!
SAME PROBLEM on my note 4
I HAVE the same problem. once the screen goes dark, the interference begins. tune in says re download. samsung says reset phone. not resetting phone. its been happening since day one. sprint suggested it was a "throttling" issue.
I purchased Galaxy S4 black edition 20 days ago and updated the same to lollipop. I had faced the issue described below is in kitkat version also.
The issue is identified only while using 2G(GSM only) internet connection. The issue is that, the screen falshes/blinks just for a second while using any application. If the phone is in idle state, the display turns on during this. If the keyboard is on while happening this, it just closes the keyboard. It seems like the UI is just refreshing.
Anyone out here faced an issue like this? Please suggest a solution for this!
Screen recorded video of the issue.

Hi guys something has happened to the touch at the top of the screen its about an inch off too high. I tried flashing and wiping even went back down to lolipop but nothing is working.
How exactly does the touch key study work ? Like if its off how does one recalibrate it ? Its almost like the top menu bar has been disabled somehow...
Its a MTCD-Sofia MCU-HXD2.15 currently on 5.1.1
Cheers
Same problem here, did you find a solution?
I'm having a similar problem on lots of different vehicle where the touchscreen calibration is off while in maps and Waze. It worked as recently as 3 weeks ago and I've tried rolling back Android auto versions and no difference.
I've read on other forums that reducing the screen resolution on your phone will fix the issue, hopefully an update will provide a full fix at some point.
