I've recently bought a new HTC Wildfire ( simlock free ).
And I've played games. But they are so slow... I've searched around the internet and i've found that i've to overclock my Phone. So i've searched how to do that, i've found rooting... That's where I have questions about:
1. If I want to overclock, wich ROM must I take?
2. I wanted to copy my apps to SD, so maybe a froyo rom?
3. If I follow the instructions that are with the ROM, and follow them good. Is there than any chance of bricking my phone?
Thanks in advance!
Marc
I'm still very new to android, I'll try to help!!
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822132
I used this cyanogen rom and I wasn't too sure if it had a kernel that could be overclocked... until I got the SetCPU app and it allowed me to set the cpu to 768mhz
2. On that rom above, I can copy apps to the sd card through the settings>manage applications. A list of the apps shows up and there's an option for it to move to the sd.
3. Make sure you created a nandroid backup of the rom you have now before you go and flash a new one and you should be fine......
My battery on this rom goes pretty terrible so I have profiles in setcpu to have the rom at a max of 352mhz when the screen is off and I also have it on flight mode. I take flight mode off only when I'm going to make calls and texts. The other day at work, my battery was fully charged at 6am and it had only gone down to 94% by 5pm. Sent a tonne of texts and a couple of calls too. Usually without flight mode it's around 40% by that time
But what is the differences between the roms, example the one you named and wildpuzzle? And the root methods, unrevoked and are there any others?
i dont think rooting and overclocking will do any good on games. the reason you cant play those games is that you have 240x320 res and an arm6 cpu.
I wrote a new thread few days ago but no one answered,so I searched here and i found this,I want to ask you wich risk there are in rooting of wildfire. Hoping you'll answer me,bye!

Guys, i also recently got my wildfire.. but am pretty much sure, u r not going to brick the phone 99.99%..
You need first root your phone using Unrevoked 3 and then you can install any ROM (personally i will suggest Cynagenmod ,as it is very easy and simple and it will fulfil all your requirements OC,APP2SD)

Thanks for repling, but my problem is for the ota update of december,as you know it don't change nothing particularly, and so it make me think that they modified only the security of the sistem against the unrevoked,am I wrong?Do you know if it can cause problems to the root?
If you just want to overclock your wildfire, then you won't need to flash a custom rom. Flashing Jacob's overclock kernel to stock rom does the same thing.
Yes, overclocking does make game play better. But just to a certain extent, you will definitely see a difference and that's that.
I am pretty sure the wildpuzzle rom supports appstosd.
I am totally new to this and I got my Wildfire couple of weeks ago. English is not my native language so excuse me if I write something wrong but I hope that you will understand my request. I dont really understand this rooting and flashin custom roms and everything, so I have few questions :
1.) What is rooting ? I read that it means accessing root directory but I dont fully understand that.
2.) Custom roms, what do I really get with them ?
3.) Kernel, what is that ?
4.) Can OC and flashing custom rom's be harmfull for my phone ? Can something blow up ?
5.) Is it possible to change language of my phone to croatian with those custom roms ? I tried with morelocale and apps simillar to that, but it translates only half of the interface.
I would be very gratefull if someone could explain these terms to me into the smallest details so I could understand everything. Thank you.
anyone ? pleasee
Well not a techie myself but there is a thread generally explains this in the Android forum of you look for it.
Rooting means opening access to the system file on the phone that is normally not accessible this let's you change files and system attribute like themes etc. And mods that let's you install from sdcard.
Kernal is the instructions to the CPU how it should work.
Oveclocking are predefined or scaled instructions to make the CPU run at higher speed than the default in stock roms, available on custom roms only, will make the system smoother less waiting loading times. It will generate more heat than normal but hardly will blow anything up.
Custom roms are tweaked versions of sense or original android, they include functions like app2sd, most useful as it puts files to SD card and work with the phone releasing resource so you can install many more apps. Of course downside is SD card is operating more decreasing its life but depends on the card reliability and good branded ones these days they last for years.
As for you language you should read the Rom threads.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App with Wildpuzzle v0.8
1: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooting_(Android_OS)
2: Read the ROM thread. More often than not, the features are listed there. There is no specific answer as to what you get by installing Custom ROM's. It differs from ROM to ROM. Some offer performance, some offer stability and so on.
3: The interface which controls the hardware, basically. It is a modified form of Linux kernel, and, to know what a kernel does, you can look it up on Wikipedia.
4: No, it cant blow up. That being said, it is not recommended to keep the phone OC'ed 24x7 at very high values. A moderate OC doesnt have any negative effects, with maybe a reduction in the lifespan of the hardware, but, IMO, that will be seen over a very long period of time.
5: No idea, sorry. Never required any other language apart from English myself.
1.) Rooting is simply "HACKING" your phone so you can put whatever you'd like to on it (Custom ROMs and such).
2.) Better battery life, more customization and such.
3.) Too deep, but in simple words kernel is the base of the OS running in your phone (apperently Android is UNIX based).
4.) Small risks only, if you're doing something wrong. I didn't get any problem myself though.
5.) Yes. Not fully as said, but yes.
hmmm I think that I understand everything now. Thank you all for the given informations.
and I have one more question : does anyone know for how long will I have to wait until I can root my 2.2 Froyo ?

To change the cpu power and make the battery long lasting one i rooted my phone do i need to install a custom rom or theres an app i can just install on original sense to manage cpu and battery like from custom roms?

You just need SetCPU. Since you are not looking to overclock, you don't require another kernel or a Custom ROM.

If you're looking at underclocking be careful as not enough CPU power will cause lag and freezes.

Nope. No one has an ETA, and this holds true for (mostly) all dev related work / releases like this, Not just unrevoked.
I thought it was like that, but there is no harm in asking I hope that it will be soon because I want new rom because official is disaster.
BRACE YOURSELVES,LONG POST COMING!!
So,this phone is my very first one since 2013,and because i LOVE to tinker every software(even on pc) i decided to tinker my very first smartphone to the best performance possible !
I Learned a lot about this phone and 2 years later i decided to help others reach this point of optimization for this phone..
MY choice for android version for this phone is Jellybean(4.3) and i can explain why.
I choose this version because we want to operate our phone without A-N-Y bugs or FC's...
I choose this version because we want to get the best out of our camera....
i chose this version because I think(please dont sent hate posts) its the lightest software WHILE maintaning stability :fingers-crossed:
Well lets get started then!!
ROM:The best jellybean rom in terms of performance PLUS stability (my personal opinion again) is Just archi'shttp://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...m-justarchis-sammy-stock-deodex-root-t2855613, (IMHO The best developer for this phone ).
this rom use very little resources and it is as close to stock as possible with the basics (in terms of flexibility) baked in :good:
Also we all hate to admit that Sammy stock ROM is the most optimized because their sources is closed (so in sammies 4.4.2 -4.4.4 that developers port is laggy after some long term use so we cant blame them).
KERNEL: I chose this kernel because WHILE having enough stability,it delivers MASSIVE performance boost-And this is Boeffla's in synergy with zanezam's boeffla kernel with uber toolchain http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/kernel-boeffla-kernel-linaro-zzmoove-t2629184 http://boeffla.df-kunde.de/zanezam/linaro/i9300/samsung/jb43/stable/. THUMBS UP TO THESE DEVELOPERS :good: !!!
OPTIMIZATIONS: I'D like to share my boeffla kernel profile.this profile is aimed just a bit to performance while having good Sot's (4 hours+)...
Use Greenify!!! Its the best app available capable of hibernate you apps of CHOICE,freeing RAM to make the device snappy
i'd recomment to use it with XPOSED as you have more options to hibernate even system apps! :good:
ADBLOCK: use Adaway. It saves you from these ads that not only they are irritating, but you save a LOT of cpy cycles, which means cooler phone, still snappy while browsing etc.
Xposed modules:the only frustration about this rom for me is that it has no advanced reboot.. But its obvious because rom is as close to stock as possible). so if you want this you must install APM+ module found in download section inside xposed installer or by this link: http://repo.xposed.info/module/hk.kennethso168.xposed.apmplus.
SOUND:After a lot of scripts and mods about sound in our phone,i decided to settle to [/FONT]V4A app and their drivers because it has INSANE volume boost WHILE maintaining quality :good: .
music application of choice is "Music" by SONY because i find it to work best with V4A. just move the apk to system app to work.normal install dont work!
SYSTEM APPS REMOVAL: I removed those system apps, freeing a good chunk of storage AND RAM, WHILE maintaining stability and no FC'S or bugs or anything.
there is the following:
ChocoEUKor
RoseEUKor
SNS
PanningtryActually.apk
Best face
My Files
Adapt sound(needed to install V4A)
Capability manager service
simcardpermission
CoolEUkor
DirectConnectManager
Direct ShareManager
DroidSerifitalic
Enterprise permissions
Multimedia ui service layer
Page buddy noti svc
Remote controls
Samsung link connectivity
SyncmlDS

Live wallpaper support

Internet(stock browser,replace w ith chrome)
Music FX

bcservice
enterprise sim pinservice
Flashbar service
syscope service
vpn services
factory mode
factory mode
factory test
ims framework
indiservicemanager
MDMApp
OMACP
pickup tutorial
ultracfg
And with all that, i achieved very little Ram consumption and less Cpu cycles :good:
I hope you find this useful!
see attachments for my RAM usage without pressing clear all, and boeffla kernel profile of my own.give it a try!
sorry for long post!
cheers!

well, I must say that you should use the rom in the link first to see if you like sammy stock but a bit modded.there are many roms but ported Roms e.g Blekotas roms are indeed beautiful BUT due time eventually it starts to lag, which is not developers fault, its just a port.

I have a issue, When I tried to install the zip, my CWM has no options to do so. All I have done so far is install CF-root. Do I need to install a recovery separately? how and what recovery should I install? Should I get boeffla kernel first?
And is there anything I should be worried about, do I need to update bootloader or anything like that. my current version is: i9300XXUGNA5 , with CF root.
Just flash TWRP not cwm its not compatible

I keep getting software update notifications, but I have installed a newer firmware (archis) than what I think the phone want to download (the latest version for my region, sweden is older than archis firmware in his thread).
going into settings I do not really see a option to disable to search for these updates.
Do you also get this?
You need to edit this post, you should not be advertising warez ...
The developer of the app in question is also a member of these forums and I wouldn't like him seeing other members pointing to his software being cracked...

Hi guys,
So .. I hate lag, that's why I wanna do something about my LG Spirit, cos it lags annoyingly much. Here's what I got - Lollipop 5.0.1, software version V10h-EUR-XX, Build LRX21Y, Kernel 3.10.49
So I heard of this SetCPU app and wanna give it a try. But to give it a try I need the phone to be rooted. Tried many ways to root it but couldn't. So far so BAD! Then heard something about flashing a custom ROM to the phone. Do I have to have the phone rooted in order to flash a custom ROM to it? Or the other way around? Do I have to have a custom ROM in order to be able to root the device? And which custom ROM to go for for my Spirit?
Ultimately, I wanna get rid of this lag and to do that I'm giving these 2 things a try - (1) root the phone somehow and install SetCPU to overclock the CPU to make the darn thing run faster and (2) flash a custom ROM cos I heard custom ROM can run much faster and lighter than the stock OOTB OS.
One thing I already did was to install the latest Nova Launcher Prime. That alone has made the phone more responsive. With the stock HOME it seemed to work slower. Or is it just me?
Anyway, help me out by answering some of my uncertainties and pls do give me a tip on how to proceed.
Cheers!
Currently there are no custom roms for lg spirit on xda. You cant overclock the kernel, because you would need an OC kernel for that. My suggestion is to follow the guidelines in Tomo123's performance and battery enhancing thread. You can root the device via Kingroot, search for it on xda.
Thank you very much for the input! Muchly appreciated!
I don't wanna use this Chinese mysterious stuff ... kingroot. I'd rather root with something else.
Could I tell me if I need to be rooted in order to flash a custom ROM to my phone or is it the other way - having to have a custom ROM in order to be able to root it? Which way around is it?
I'm not sure what you mean by 'You cant overclock the kernel, because you would need an OC kernel for that.' What is an OC kernel? Are you saying that I cannot overclock my CPU because I need a custom ROM???
Any links to Tomo123's performance and battery enhancing thread?
You cannot root with anything else. There's no problem with it by the way so feel free to use it.
You have to root your phone first in order to install custom roms, but currently there are no custom roms for this device, nor unlocked bootloader and custom recovery (which is needed to install a custom rom).
An oc kernel is an OverClocked kernel which again we don't have yet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...pu-tweaks-performance-battery-saving-t3217133
Here's the link ( you need root for this)
Thank you again. I just re-read your prev post and it now makes more sense to me. So apparently there's nothing in it for me to root, since we dont yet have and OverClocked kernel and any custom ROMs, meaning I can't squeeze out any benefit. Even if I managed to root the phone and installed SetCPU it won't help anything cos it won't let me overclock the CPU, due to the lack of an OC kernel as you said yourself.
So yeah ,.. thanks! Will give that link a look! Any idea when/how we'll ever get any custom ROMs and kernels for the LG spirit 2015? After all it's a cheap spin-off of the LG G4.
Is it just me or the Home Launcher also makes a difference? With the stock one things were kinda slow. With Nova Prime they seem kinda faster? Could it be or is it just me?
PS
I only wanted to root my phone so as to be able to overclock the CPU and make it run faster. I've read many reviews saying reasons why it is great to root your phone. However, since I can't overclock the CPU is there any other reason (in terms of making the phone faster and less laggy) why I would want to root it?
The home launcher does make a difference. The thread I shared with you contains a set of kernel settings which make the phone more responsive, have better multitasking, and conserve more battery. The developers at LG made weird settings to the kernel that's why we need to change them. But in order to do so, you need to root.
Yeah, that's what I was gonna ask you. Now I get the picture. I may have misunderstood you earlier, cos i though u said in order to overclock i need and overclock-able kernel, which does not exist. And it seems that at the thread you linked to the guys are doing exactly that - overclocking and tweaking settings to the cpu and kernel. I guess they're doing all that on the stock kernel and ROM. So the bottom line. is you don't necessarily need a custom ROM and kernel in order to tweak stuff in the SetCPU app such as the clockspeed of the CPU and other kernel settings.
I guess this is the KingRoot thread I should use to root my Spirit?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461
Well, in any event .. I gotta say a big thank you for even pointing me to that thread cos that was exactly what I was looking for. But pls shed some more light on my last post.

trying to root now and so they have kingroot 4.6 now and it says here http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...x-5-0-t3107461 that:
We have two versions, one is mobile version( app) for one-click root, another is desktop version for root some special device which can not be rooted by mobile one. Attention please that the desktop version may be flash third party Recovery into your device.
and then
KingRoot is an amazing tool for "lazy people" who just want to get root access but don't want to flash any third party Recovery into their lovely device.
So first they say one thing and then kinda something else. What is the risk/problem with flashing 3rd party Recovery into my phone? Why would I want/not want that? and lastly ... which method to use - mobile or desktop?

wrote 2 simple scripts wich delete as many bloatware as possible without destabilize the system.
use with care, its your own fault if your phone is dead after use.
it should work on any Sony with any rom. Surely i can't prove rly any of them, so don't bother me if there are some apps still alive or the script is doing "to much", i wrote them like i would like to use, so be careful

For Roms below Android 5
Custom-Roms version:

Light version for Custom-Roms:

No change on script, just a fix for Android 4.4.4 and below
I strongly recommend to use the scripts only on fresh installed roms, so no fc can occure and no "thrash" could be left.

wrote 2 simple scripts wich delete as many bloatware as possible without destabilize the system.
use with care, its your own fault if your phone is dead after use.
it should work on any Sony with any rom. Surely i can't prove rly any of them, so don't bother me if there are some apps still alive or the script is doing "to much", i wrote them like i would like to use, so be careful
This one is for Custom-Roms only

Hello,
This looks like a very effective & easy to use patch! Everything is written, it's so simple. I'll try it for sure. Thank you for your good work!
Thanks for job , but very big list . Please make light version else . I recommend freeze apps at first ( in custom rom only freeze , not delete) . You can get unstable system . Imho.

Well, I tried it and I think it's a bit extreme... No home launcher and quick settings tile... You should make a light version indeed.

I use it for myself and tried it on every common known custom-rom. Never went unstable.
