Ever since the latest update 9.2.1.21, shortly afterwards my Home is no longer working. The recent apps and back works fine but something's wrong with the stock launcher. Stock ICS 4.0.3 and rooted.
Anyone else having this problem? I'm really getting fed up with ICS. Honeycomb was working perfectly fine for me before. Ugh. Tried installing Go Launcher and still no go. When I press the home key, it just glows blue and does nothing. I can't leave apps to go to home. Nothing.
Backup your stuffs and try a factory reset.
I don't know. Try Home Manager or Home Switcher or one of those apps and see if they do anything for your case.
Do you have a dock? Does the hardware home button on the keyboard work?
Another possibility. Manage applications -> all apps -> select the launcher (perhaps it's called Asus launcher) and go to the uninstall/data screen. Remove the default option for launcher. The tap the home key and you should get a dialog asking you to select which launcher goes with home. Click the checkbox for default and select the launcher.

Perhaps this is one of the Android's trojan/malware/virus...etc.. ??
That sounds like a bad flash to me- try plugging your TF in the wall overnight and flash the same thing again. The 5V USB port on a computer is too weaksauce to get a real charge.
Hello All,
I've been lurking in this forum for a year or so now... However, I wish to update the community of an issue with the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T and the OTA Jellybean update for the WW builds which was just pushed to us an hour or so ago.
If you are rooted but not unlocked, most probably you are running SuperSU and Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper. Normally, there shouldn't be a problem with the Jellybean OTA update. However, if you are like me and are also running EZOverclock, after the Jellybean update, the moment you restore root using Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper and reboot, the Transformer will get stuck in an endless bootloop, starting up normally then rebooting again in within 1 minute after the Android lock-screen/homescreen comes up.
Apparently, there is a serious incompatibility between EZOverclock which crashes the OS and forces it to reboot.
To all WW Build TF300T users who received the OTA update but haven't installed it yet, please uninstall EZOverclock before installing the update.
For those like me who found out the problem too late, you have to be a bit persistent and lucky and try to disable EZOverclock before it starts...
What I did was the following:
- remove any installed microSD cards
- force the unit to reboot by holding down the power button or just catch the bootup sequence at the moment the lockscreen/homescreen comes up and it can accept input
- quickly tap the menu button at the upper right-hand corner of the screen and quickly swipe the pages until you get to the page where your SuperSU app is
- tap the SuperSU app and tap the EZOverclock app and tap the "forget" button
This should disable the EZOverclock app and the system should stabilize after it crashes/reboots automatically for the last time. You can then uninstall EZOverclock at your leisure.
You may have to attempt to do this several times to get the timing right because you have to get all of this done in the short window of time when the system starts up but before EZOverclock loads and crashes the system.
I spent over two hours trying to find out what went wrong with my OTA update and trying several other things before finally discovering the problem. I spent another half an hour trying to get the timing right to be able to disable EZOverclock...
I hope this would help other rooted WW build users to avoid problems when updating to Jellybean.
Best Regards to All
^_^
The way I got rid of it was quickly unlock go into app drawer and drag uninstall ezoverclock, it should be in first page since it starts with e.

I didn't know that you could drag-uninstall an application... Well, you learn something new everyday...
How did you no ezoverclock was causing the bootloops?

Actually I didn't at first. After the initial panic attack had passed, I spent the next two hours searching the Internet for a situation similar to mine. I read somewhere that bootloops are generally caused either by bad ROMs or misbehaving software. I had several things loaded that startup on boot:
- EZOverclock
- DU Meter
- Lookout
- Micro CPU meter
Except for EZOverclock, all the other have some sort of notification that they have loaded:
- DU Meter --> notification panel
- Lookout --> notification panel
- Micro CPU meter --> 4px high by 200px wide moving lines at the upper right hand corner of the screen
The system works fine until the Lookout icon appears on the notification panel, then the system freezes and reboots. Neither the Micro CPU meter and the DU Meter loads before the system reboots, so I started with those two, quickly loading their apps and stopping them from loading into the notification tray. When I tried loading the EZOverclock app to disable it, the system froze with the app screen halfway open. I tried doing it again when the system rebooted. Same result. AHA! I think I have found the culprit. Searching the Internet yielded reports of users having trouble running EZOverclock on Transformer Primes running custom ROMs based on Jellybean. That's why I tried to find a way to unload it...

something that might help also: To trigger safe mode in Android 4.1, you long-hold the power button to bring up the phone options menu, and then long-hold on the “power off” option to be presented with the opportunity to boot into safe mode.
source : http://pocketnow.com/2012/07/11/android-safe-mode-gives-you-power-over-misbehaving-apps/
note, this safe mode can often also be triggered on the device bootup, by using different combinations of key presses/holding keys. not sure what it is of tf300 though..

This makes my mind up, I won't be upgrading.
Hi guys ,
I am using a rooted stock ROM on my nexus 7 and was watching YouTube when all of a sudden movie kept playing the same frames for a while, while audio was plsying fine and then all of a sudden the tablet rebooted. After reboot all of my third party keyboards got disabled in the settings by their own. Anyway, my problem is that after reboot home button is not working! And when I swipe up also the Google now shortcut is not working ! Nothing happens.
The back and recent apps are working fine right now.
I tried rebooting again but that also didn't help!
Anyone has any ideas ?
Looks like the ROM is booting on kind of safe mode.
I mean when I hold the power button there is only one option and it's power off.
I tried power off and on again but that didn't help!
Also the settings shortcut in the notification menu is not working! But the display rotation toggle is working.
Developer options were disabled, unknown sources for apps were disabled!
Did any of you had this problem before?
I also tried clearing the settings app data, cleared the cache and Dalvik cache from recovery!
These things didn't help!
I would at least back out the rooted Rom and verify that the way the device was intended to work still works. From there, see if there's any updates about using that Rom on the nexus 7.

The thing I don't want to wipe my data and restore everything again! I just installed button savior the home button in that app seems to work.
I think I need to clear data on some system apps part to re-initialize some settings again!
Ok So I'm Just Making An Account With XDA But I've Been Modifying My Phone For Almost 2 Months Now. Currently, I'm Running PAC-Man Rom 23.0.0 With Franco Kernel 3.4.0. Touch Control + Nexus Louder, Blah, Blah, Blah. Anyhow, I Might Be Posting This In The Wrong Forum But Bear With Me. The Other Day, My Phone Randomly Resetted And When It Came Back On, My Soft Keys Were Gone. Idk How To Get 'Em Back And I Don't Even Know Why They Disappeared. Help. I'm About To Throw My Phone Cuz I'm Pissed. I'm Forced To Use Both Pie Controls Which Makes It Hard To Use All My Apps. :crying:

PIE controls are not hard to use. It takes some time to get use to. Relax buddy.
There should an option in settings to diable PIE and bring back the soft keys. Perhaps you're on Expandable desktop mode. Try holding the power button until the reboot, power, and airplane options appear. If there is an option for Expandable desktop or something similar tick it. If you can't get it back from there, try finding the option in the settings menu.
+1 to you possibly being in expanded desktop mode. Long press power and disable it, things should work as normal again.

Thanks. Ok, I Tried That. It Was Always Disabled Though.
I Wouldn't Mind Just Using The Pie Controls Because I Prefer It To Soft Keys But Besides The LMT Pie I've Always Had On The Right Side Of My Screen, It Seems Whereever (Top, Left Or Bottom) I Put The Other Pie That Has The Soft Keys, It Interfers With My Usage Of Other Apps. "/ Like, Not Being Able To Press The Shift Key On My Keyboard.
I'm Thinking I Should Just Return To Stock And Root Again? But Would I Lose All My Pictures, Apps And Music?

Just back those up to your PC (literally copy and paste them somewhere) and you should be fine. You can do a backup in Titanium backup or Carbon to keep your apps and app data, which will also need to be backed up to your PC.

There's no need to go that far yet. First try doing a full wipe and reflashing the rom.

Thanks A Lot. It Worked. But Now, For Some Reason, My Kill All Apps Soft Key That Was Always On The Bottom Left Above The Nav Bar Is Gone. I Still Have The Kill All Soft Key In My Status Bar Though. Any Ideas?

Well you did full wipe so all of your ROM data will be gone. You'll have to reset the settings you had previously (including that softkey).
Hello,
The multi window option of my GN3 doesn't work, the bar on the left hand side does not appear when i keep pressing the return button.
Of course, the multi window option is activated in the settings.
By the way, my GN3 is rooted.

Check if the multiwindow toggle is on at notification or quick toggle menu.
Did you freeze com.sec.android.app.FlashbarService, by any chance?
If yes, that's the multiwindow bar you froze.
If no, are you long-pressing return or just clicking it? You need to hold return, not click it.

Peculiar. What it does for me when I press Multi Window is a cycle of three settings:
1. Show the (<| toggle (bad graphical representation) on the right (or left) side in the middle of screen.
2. Hide the toggle completely
3. Show the bar.
Try clearing the cache and data on com.sec.android.app.FlashbarService. If that doesn't help, try wiping the system cache in recovery.

Hey Folks,
i did not want to open a new thread for this topic, so i searched and added my problem to this existing thread.
Since a few days my Note 3 (N9005) is also not able to use Multi Window.
The Option in Settings is not highlighted and can not be turned to "on" anymore.
S Pen Window works (but only with standard apps like calculator, browser etc.)
Screenshot of Quick Settings: (Notice gray background of the symbol)

I did not change anything in the last few weeks (only a new microSD (32GB))
Everything Stock, no Root, Official 4.4.2
Maybe there is a solution other than factory reset
Thanks a lot!
Greetings
nitro
Just reinstall MultiWindowTrayService and FlashBarService...
Ok,
that sound easy. But where do i find these services?
i took a look around in the file system, but did not find anything.
can you maybe share a link for the .apk´s from a reliable source!?
Edit:
After trying some .apk´s (from android host) they all respond with "app could not be installed".
Any other ideas maybe?
i dont want to restore my device/data but it seems like it is the only option.
Thanks a Lot!
greetings
