VM LG Tribute 2 - LG Leon Questions & Answers

Here is the Boost Mobile LS665 stock TOT firmware, will fix bootloader / Security Error at boot, just use the following LG Flash Tool to flash:
goo.gl/RizWxw
If you have Virgin Mobile then probably mobile data won't work, need to edit some build.prop & APN files etc.
LG Flash Tool: https://www.mediafire.com/?5cxw1pn2uj8u3jv
Replace MegaLock.dll in C:\LG\LGFlashTool with my MegaLock.dll from the download before opening LG Flash Tool.
Turn off phone, hold VolumeUp key then plug in USB cable to computer in order to enter download mode.
Select the dll and tot using the flashtool and open device manager to manually set the phone (in download mode) to port COM41.
No password, no tricks. have fun.

I flashed to VM LS665 and it zeroed my imei. But luckily I have friend who repair imei/meid for me.
Anyway I boot up and get no data. LTE show in network status, but has an exclamation mark (apn settings?)
I go into the telephpny.db database and can see many possible APNs and there is virgin/sprint APN that is correct.
But in the phone settings apn menu the list only has one default apn, not the list that is in telephony.db
So what other apn (apns-conf.xml) or what changes in the build.prop?

Tutorial: Modem Huawei E303-HiLink working onTitan7010 (RK2918)

This modem is very different from the others. It's kind of interface ethernet-usb or something.
It is not possible or necessary to make the switch to modem only from Hyperterminal or puTTY.
Prerequisites:
1 - ROOT
2 - Modem with unbranded firmware.
To this must go to calcode.webs.com, or https://www.facebook.com/Calcodewebcom, with your IMEI can get the NCK and FLASH CODE CODE for Huawei modems IMEI number 85/86. Since it is the only calculator free to do so. The DC-Unlocker balance no longer free to do so, if you can accomplish for pay.
If you know the IMEI of the modem there are several ways to find out, the easiest is with the DC-Unlocker
Then lower the firmware of this website
http://www.unlockmodemfree.biz/2013/01/upgrade-huawei-e303-firmware-to.html
and flashed from a PC with WINDOWS (they will ask the flash code, there enter the flash code obtained from calcode.webs.com).
If your modem is lock then use the Card Lock Unlock Tool program, download it from the same website, and try to unlock your modem to use with any company (optional).
After this and the tablet off and plug the modem light up. When you turn the tablet will see the signal bar in the lower right corner.
3 - At this point of the tutorial is where I am a little confused. Since I do not know if I got the connection by using the method of xdadevelopers or if this is not necessary (because I did it before trying to connect to the UMTS Manager Root)
Two options: a) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172914
This thread details a method somewhat difficult to do. I did it. Instead of using ES Explorer I used Root Explorer and instead of using the GScript used the Script Manager. The issue here is that after the method nothing happened, no connection established, no sailing. Then I opened the UMTS Manager Root and configured with APN, username and password for my ISP 3G. I used the port / dev/ttyUSB0 and "CONECT" with success.
b) Then it may not be necessary to make the method xdadevelopers and only need ROOT MANAGER UMTS on the tablet, download it from the PlayGoogle
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=UMTS+Manager+root&c=apps
add your apn, username and password. Then select the port / dev/ttyUSB0 and give Connect.
In the end I succeeded. Maybe some other user can play and comment if necessary xdadevelopers method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172914) before using the UMTS Manager Root or only using this apk wonderful connection is already achieved.
Thanks man
this is cool, just to add, the site you provided for unlcoking of huawei modems is no more in service so i just want to add a place people can generate free unlock codes for Huawei Modems like the E303 as you mentioned.

[experimental] [Idea] Installing Root Cert that means something!!!

alright, So on my GSM HTC 8x (T-Mobile), I got File Explorer working in QPST. I can read and write various NVram values, change band prefs, etc. One thing interesting I found in the File Explorer (Not Windows OS, but for the Fileexp for the modem) is there is a directory called "Supl". In it is a file called "SuplRootCert". I copied it to my PC, and renamed it to "SuplRootCert.cer". When I opened the file, it presented itself as the "T-Mobile USA Root CA". Trusted Root Certificate.
I wonder what this is doing here? It can't be for Wi-Fi calling because the firmware doesn't support it (although it did at one time)..I wonder if we can put our own root certificate here and if the phone will trust it?

The name of the certificate reminds me something about A-GPS, but I could be wrong....
But there is something very intriguing in your experiments: perhaps that way we could enable LTE on the international ATIV S.

I have something you ca try with your Ativ S, if you want:
Try installing the diagnosticApp_Sprint onto your Ativ via the Microsoft Store (Set OEMID to HTC and CID to "null") Then see if you can toast your way to app://e69a2877-59b8-43ed-898d-554fbc4b8b2b/_default#/EmbeddedTool;component/DMSwitchPage.xaml Once there, you can try toggling one of the switches (both will enable the necessary serial Port). When the phone auto-reboots, you should be able to connect it to the PC. Once Windows Update finds and installs the drivers (I am assuming it will do this for the ATIV S), launch the "QPST Service Programming tool" (QPST can be found on the forum if you search for it) Once that tool loads, pick out your device and click "connect". Once that loads, click "read from phone". now go to the UMTS System tab to set your band preferences. (My 8x had all of them enabled by default) (I have nothing to compare it to, so YMMV). Once you have made changes, just press "write to phone" and wait for it to reset. Hopefully then you will have LTE enabled!

You can do this with samsung diagnosis, open it and enter *#7284#, then select QC RmNetComposite. After doing whatever you want, you can go back setting it to MTP again.
The phone will reboot when you change this value.

Obviously, the new version of the diagnosis app (the one included in the official GDR3 update) inhibits that code...I think I will decide myself to restart from GDR2 and upgrade with the "polish" hack, in the end. I was too lazy to do it, Now I have at least a good reason to do it....

How did you do that? I mean... I have a GSM HTC 8x as well and I'd like to edit the registry (mainly to change roaming preferences, bands preferences and if it is possible, the accent colors). Is that possible?
I have installed the Sprint Diagnostics app but it only shows the IMEI info and the SIM card info, nothing more. It does absolutely nothing else. Am I missing something?
You need to install @cpuguy's Native Toast Launcher
and paste this inside the box.

this only allows you to edit the phone modem at this time. We might be able to reflash the os partition with this.

Oh well, no problem with that. I'd like to know if I can enable the AWS band on my phone (I got the c620e version). By the way, working with the modem, can I set some MCCs to be recognised as "home" network? Because I use a MVO and the whole time it says it is roaming (when it actually isn't).

I tried your method but the tool is unable to write to the phone. Keeps getting a "phone stopped responding to memory" error

I did all of that on my HTC 8x (model c620e) and it did work. However, I'm kind of stuck because Windows doesn't detect the appropriate drivers for the phone and all I got is "HTC Composite device". Do you have any driver that I can use?
@cybermiguel It did that to me at first, too. Make sure the PC you are using has Internet, right-click on the "HTC composite device" in device manager, select "update driver software". Then tell it to search automatically for drivers. They will "magically" appear.

weird. I was using QPST 2.7 Build 402, and it was working fine. I was able to use "EFS Explorer" and "Service Programming" to read/write various info. Try a different USB cable or port on your computer?
Try this driver, for me work (disable driver signature)

The screenshot you posted seems to me unuseful: all is already enabled and activated. Can you please post a screenshot of the NAS tab? There you should find if LTE UE OP classes are enabled, and, first of all, if UE RAT includes LTE or not.

[Q] Request to Santa: MMS on LG-E900 with Free Mobile network !

Hello,
It's been 6 months since I'm looking for a solution to run the MMS on my mobile LG-E900 (Optimus 7) Windows Phone 7 (OS version: 7.10.8862.144).
The phone came with the Orange network and I use it now with Free Mobile card. Internet access works well but I can not send or receive MMS (despite the activation mode "Data Connections".)
- when I send an MMS, I get the message "Sending message impossible. Retry. "
- when I get an MMS and I click on the link "Get media content", there is a message "Getting media content" and then redisplay the link "Get media content" and nothing happens .
Having looked around many forums, I tried several solutions without success:
1 - put me near a Free Mobile antenna array and send me an MMS: unsuccessfully
2 - change the APN settings: for the moment, I 'have the following settings: APN = free, Username = "" Password = "", Proxy Server / URL = "", Proxy Port = ""
3 - try inserting a card and Orange launch the application "Network settings" (version 3.0.3.0) as described here: http://www.monwindowsphone.com/solution-mms-free-mobile-omnia-7-t14550.html. This does not work because I do not see profile when using a Free Orange card.
4 - change the table registry as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16363034&postcount=3
I heard that a solution would be to get the XML config file for Free Mobile but I don't know how to get it and how to use it...
I confess that I am discouraged and a solution in this Christmas season would make me happy. Thanks in advance for your time and help!
Happy Holidays! Gigi

It works !!!
Thanks a lot for your great help ! After several months without MMS on my LG Optimus 7 with Free Mobile, now MMS are usable on it thanks to your solution below.
I just launched DiagProvXML on my phone between step 4 and step 5 in order to make step 5 working. I just precised also that lockscreen of your mobile must be off during steps after 4.

How to restore , backup NV item for LG E900 optimus. Instruction.

Instruction for users , who have problems with bad nv items for lg e900 optimus .
Maybe this procedure repair your bricket lg phone , this is the best method to fix your wrong ,resetting phone (when show only lg logo ,nothing more , you must know that , your "umts nv items" are wrong , dont enable "automatic mode at MFG app at phone at modem settings , because settings will change ) .
-Install newest qpst ( ver 402) program with drivers for phone ( from lg site )
- enable QC Composite mode for port setting at MFG application at phone ( access - ##634# and 277634#*# )
-restart phone
-connect phone to pc , at qpst configuration make new manual connection for your com port ( what com ? find at task menager )
It is important to have older factory firmware (not wp7.8 ) at phone because newest have rather blocked some functionality , for example v10b , v10c these .DZ files will be ok ( you can downgrade firmware version of your phone with lgdp2 v33 program with .DZ file ) .
- next open "Download program" (qpst program section) and click for "backup " bookmark , make location for wiriting .qcn file with nv items.
Further is more easily
.
This program have some additional funcionality , for example qpst programming (you can change umts setting for example )
My good nv item file for you at attachemnts.
