[HELP] Weird Bluetooth problem. - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am on Stock ROM ALE-L21C432B598. When I boot Bluetooth is off, as expected. If I turn it on, everything is normal. I can stream music, and also transfer Phone Calls via BT.
BUT, when I turn it off it doesn't "turn off completely" and when I turn it on again, I can stream music, but I am not able to transfer Phone Calls anymore.
If I put the phone in Airplane mode, then yes, the Bluetooth turns off and in the next turn on I can use the phonecalls over BT again.
I've tried lot´s of things, like flashing again the rom, flashing the B596 rom, looked into logcat for some information.
Can anyone help me on this one?
Thank you!

Maybe Bluetooth scanning is turned on.

Thank you. Yes. I went here
Location Access -> Menú -> Scan -> Scan Settings - Bluetooth Scanning
And disabled it and everything is normal now!
Thanks a lot!

Hahah!! You earned it!! You saved me a lot of work! I was going to go way back to b170 and up to b598 again...
I switched Bluetooth Scanning on, but I could have never imagined that it would make bluetooth to malfunction.
Thanx a lot, man!

TT5 Bluetooth and floight mode problem

Before installing TT5, my bluetooth worked fine, even in flight mode. After installing TT5, bluetooth does not work at all. Everytime I try to activate it, it comes with the warning: Please turn off flight mode first. My GSM part is on, so flight mode is off, but I still get the message. soft reset and re-installing TT5 did not work, neither did removing TT5 Bluetooth app.
I use TT5 as a road map, without bluetooth GPS, but no matter what I try, it keeps popping up a message every 10 secs asking me to turn flight mode off. I don't need the bluetooth to be on when using TT5, even more, I like it to stay off for power reasons.
Also after un-installing TT5, my bluetooth still does not work! Can anyone out there help me?
I get the same problem also.My bluetooth does work however as i use a bluetooth gps.I find that when your in TT5 and the message pops up,just quickly turn flight mode on then off and then you can carry on using it fine after that with no interuptions
I had the same thing. It turned out to be a 'Flightmode' program I downloaded using a link from this site. For some reason it didn't always turn BT completely back on.
Instead I found a program called RadioOff, also on this forum, and it works perfectly. No TT5 problems since this switch.
My bluetooth issues are partly resolved. by turning flight mode on, then resetting and then turning it off again bluetooth works again. Perhaps my flight mode switcher, a different one from yours, is making trouble. Can you send me the radiooff that you mentioned, since I cannot find it on the forum. my email is jdfkok at hotmail. Thanks!
I'll upload it here, so everyone has a chance to pick up this nice proggy
Don't know who made it, but it's a job well done.
thanks man! I will report back to you if it solved my problems
Hi, just tested it and I think it is the same one I already use! Byte count is exactly the same, just the name and icon are different. But I noticed another thing...When I switch on flight mode with both apps, my bluetooth stays on and can be switched on and off. When I switch flight mode on using the standard windows application in the phone bubble, bluetooth goes off as well and cannot be switched on again! Looks like the app you posted makes it possible to use bluetooth while the gsm is off, while the normal way to enter flight mode also shuts down the bluetooth radio. interesting find! Now all the problems I had can beresolved by using the right way to switch flight mode on and off. Thanks for your help!
Happy to help Although I find it very weird that 'Radio Off' means that BT is still running! But maybe it's made for a non-BT device?
Yes, strange isn't it? But might be helpful in some circumstances to have it work like this. I know I won't touch my bluetooth settings anymore, now I have this sorted out, don't want to spend another 2 hours figuring out how to switch it the way I want
Have teh same problem with QTek s100, can't turn on bluetooth (get "turn on flight mode first"). Sorry, where did you get RadioOff.exe program? Seek all the site and forum and didn't see where can I download it.

How to turn off cell radio to use as ipod replacement

I'm using this as an ipod replacement and I finally figured out how to turn off the cell radio, I think.
open dial pad
dial *#*#4636#*#* (If Testing menu doesn’t come up then click "Call" and it will come up)
go to Phone information
Scroll down
turn off radio
I assumed wrongly before that the cell radio was automatically turned off since I didn't have a sim card AND since the option to turn off 3G data was disabled in the Wireless settings section. But out of curiosity, I clicked on battery info and it said that my cell radio was on this whole time! See attachment.
Turning on Airplane does turn off the cell, but it also turned off the Wifi and GPS. You can turn Wifi back on after Airplane mode, but it doesn't work properly, try using XMBC remote with Airplane mode and Wifi on, it doesn't work.
So, I guess I'll see tomorrow if this really works but so far it looks promising!
sweet thanks for the info
Get tasker and make a toggle switch of the code

I tried the keypad code you listed and nothing happens. I really need a way to turn off the phone and keep bluetooth on while at work in order to listen to my music with bluetooth headphones. I was able to use the code successfully before the Froyo update.
On mine, I simply switch on airplane mode then switch on wifi. Voila! Phone off, wifi on.
Nevermind, did not see reply that some apps don't work with this workaround...

Couldn't you just pull the SIM card???
Edit - Nevermind. I suppose the radio is still on for emergency calls...

bluetooth keeps on turning on

Hi,
my bluetooth suddenly is turning on for some reason i don't know today. I don't know how it is turning on. any way to track which apps is doing this?
I tried to check on settings >> applications >> application manager >> change system settings but there are too many apps that is enabled and I don't know which app is really causing the bluetooth to turn on.
any other method to know how?
Thanks!
Hi, I have the same problem. Did you find out how to repair this?
Are you using Good Lock?
Good Lock, uses a location base to change toggles.
I have mine setup so when i leave the house Bluetooth comes on.
When i get to work, Bluetooth goes off and silent mode is activated.
When i leave work, Sound is loud and bluetooth is active again.
When i get home, it will turn off Bluetooth and enable Wifi.
(Just incase you are using Good Lock) It was puzzling me for ages until i went in and configured it properly.

for my case, i found out it was because of the Mi Fit app. When I restart the phone, the bluetooth is not turning on. but when I open the Mi Fit app, it will not always auto turn on the bluetooth.
Check if you have this app.
My bluetooth is turning on only when my screen is off. When I turn the screen on I see bluetooth icon, and after unlock, icon disappear. Sometime, when I doesn't wait on lock screen, but unlock phone immediately bluetooth remain on. I attach list of all my apps.
Is there any app that shows apps which are using bluetooth?
I'm on stock ROM with root, xposed and twrp.
Well a good way would to individually check all the apps, who knows maybe you'll get lucky and it will be the first one you try. Or i recommend just going through the ones that use Bluetooth commonly eg if you have like a smart watch that connects to your phone.
I make a full wipe yeasterday, and problem remains. BetterBatteryStats shows that bluetooth is linked with turning screen on (see screenshot).
I have XPrivacy, how can I set to always asks to use bluetooth?
I uninstalled half of all my apps, and nothing changed.
Did you tried to wipe apps data? Go to app manager, choose view of system apps, and find anything involved with BT, as I remember I had 3 or 4 in my Galaxy S5.
As I said before I made full wipe. Can I get any information from btsnoop_hci.log?
Did you found problem just after wipe (on a clean ROM)? Or after restore apps?
At first startup, phone restore my apps. so I can't it is system app or installed from google play.
Ok so IMHO it's not bad idea to delete app data of some BT applications from app manager.
How can I find which app is using bluetooth?
Names starts with "bluetooth" and contains "bluetooth" ex. sharing bluetooth (udostępnianie).
Ok, done. I have 4 apps: Bluetooth MIDI Service 6.0.1, BluetoothTest 6.0.1, Bluetooth Sharing 6.0.1 and com.see.knox.bluetooth (which was uninstalled, because it's grey in titanium backup).
Ok, keep the fingers crossed! This helped me with my old S5 - maybe will be helpfull to you.
Unfortunately no effect for me.
Clear also data of google play services.

Strange Bluetooth connectivity issue

Symptoms are independent of ROM or Bluetooth device. Forgetting and reconnecting doesn't work.
See two attached images.
1. Normal
2. Only 2 check boxes, one unchecked is phone audio and it will not allow me to check / enable it. When I do, you see a check that then goes away.
Bluetooth shows connected but can't get audio to play through any BT device.
Only solution is to reboot phone.
Any experience with this one?
EDIT: Solution found:

Same problem after Sept patch. A reboot only temporarily fixed it. I disabled both Bluetooth and WiFi scanning (WiFi probably not necessary) under location settings and it seems to have solved it for now, I can turn BT on/off, pair/unpair and it continues to function normally.
Edit: Turning airplane mode on and off would also fix it for me sometimes. But so far turning off location scanning is the only reliable solution I've found.

I have the same problem.....I noticed that when I connect from my Nexus tablet to the phone I can no longer use the headphones.. I have jaybird x2 ....I have to reboot phone. I tried Bluetooth auto connect and same thing.
Same problem, notice it after the september security update
try to install NON-HLOS.bin from latest release, this may resolve bt issues

You should reflash the Bluetooth firmware... find the correct factory firmware image (the one that exactly matches your ROM version) and flash the BTFM.bin image, in fact try flashing the entire radio firmware as shown below:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin

I did flash the Bluetooth firmware but that didn't help. I did not flash the entire radio. I will try the wifi scanning option.

Good luck, it's been working fine for me ever since disabling BT/WiFi location scanning.

I'm glad I found this post. I've been working with Motorola/Lenovo support about this, with no solution.
Doing the Airplane mode on/off solve it, at least temporarily.
In my case, it started after the latest OTA (Sec patch Dec 2016) MPHS24.49.-18-16
I will feed this to Motorola (giving proper credit to XDA-Dev).
Thank you.

Thank you. :good:
This solved it for me.
BTW, I started having a issue with mine, and I haven't touched the ROM in months. Found an old thread, and did the following and it fixed mine:
Settings - Storage & USB - Internal Storage - then wait until it finishes calculating, then click Cached Data then clear cached data.
Give that a try and let others know if it fixes anything. Fixed my "May" rooted ROM.
Let me add to this bluetooth thing. I am experiencing the same as everyone else, but it also seems to be be deleting certain services for devices it connects to. For example, my phone is connect to my car's radio. When it was originally connected, I had four services available (media, phone, contact, and messages). With those services I was able to see email and text messages on the phone as well as the typical making phone calls and streaming music from my phone to the radio.
Now, when I pull up the bluetooth settings for the car, the media option is no longer available. It's not available to select at all and as a result I am unable to stream music from my phone to the car. I've turned off the scanning and have disconnected then reconnected the device with no luck. Any ideas?

Yep, which leads to another issue with permissions resetting. Cleared cache as well for good measure.
