I'm just wondering where everything I delete on the device goes? I just got Resco explorer, and it found a recycle bin, but it seems to be empty??
I know I've deleted files and such so I'm just wondering where they may have gone.
There is also a folder on my storage card, /Storage Card/.Trashes
It has about 9mb of files on it. Is that a folder where all the things I delete from the storage card goes?
I created a backup zip file of some images that were in the main sdcard folder that's found within the mnt folder and I was trying to delete said zip file as I thought I'd made a mistake with the zip file and somehow I ended up deleted most of the folders within the sdcard folder!
I checked out the Storage section within settings and it has the following information:
Total space]
13.11GB
Apps
3.28GB
Pictures, videos
245MB
Misc.
8.33GB
Available
1.31GB
Even though the information in the Internal Storage section is correct, when I check my folders using a file explorer software on my device which is rooted and running AOKP, it shows that the folders and files that I deleted are still missing.
Is there anyway to access the internal memory via an ADB-type software that will allow me to recover the files and folders that were deleted by accident as well as let me back up the internal memory to a PC once the recovery is done? (That is, when I can access the damn device as it's being a pain in the ass trying to detect it on my laptop!)
I use Recuva from Piriform located HERE ! It found and restored 234 MP3's that I guess I was pocket deleting on my DHD.
Thanks for the link. I'll check it out as soon as I can get my device recognised on my laptop and netbook!

Haha... mine is 110 mb
the .thumbnails folder actually contains a small sized copy of all the images you have on your sd card. It is created by the Gallery3d.apk so that whenever you open the gallery you can see a small sized preview of your images without opening them.
You really can't get rid of it unless you delete the Gallery3d.apk from system/app

I suggest you to use Quickpic it doesn't make the cache that much big. At least for me.

Just delete the TWRP folder from internal storage (use My Files)
The ES Explorer app has a great feature called "SD Card Analyst" that will scan both the internal and external SD cards and tell you what it taking up all your storage space.
From that you can go right to the large files and delete them easily.
choose restore, the backup you want to delete and hit delete
Guys Please help..
After installing cm 12.1 beta 2. I found 2 internal partition in es file explorer. so the Whatsapp data in internal memory was doubled in gallery. So from online thread i got to know about ".nomedia" file, and i pasted that in internal root folder. After that i cant find any images in file manager or in gallery.. i tried deleting ".nomedia" files. but its reappearing..
Is there any way to get my whatsapp data(pics ,videos) ..
Please Help.

Enable the option to view hidden files on the file Explorer. Now browse to the root of the internal storage and delete that .nomedia file. You should get you're files back.
You could also use a PC to see that the files are actually there.
Ask in the appropriate place....in the K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section.
seriously...a .nomedia isn't an app or a script which can delete any file...its just a freaking empty file.
your files are safe...
