hello guys, i have a Samsung galaxy S5 (SM-G900F)
i installed the latest OTA updates, but today i tried to root my device with CF-auto root file, odin did successfully but the phone didn't restart,it keep saying
recovery rooting,
recovery is not standadid enforcing or something like that
set warranty bit : recovery
it keep saying for like 10min but nothing showed up,then i flashed phiztouch recovery file, then the device reboot successfully but after i went to the recovery mode, there is no phiztouch recovery, its the stock recovery
can anyone help me to root the device n to install a phiztouch recovery
CF Auto Root should have worked, I'd try that again
Make sure you use the G900F version
Run ODIN as Admin
Only have F.Reset Time and Auto Reboot ticked in ODIN
Obviously phone in download mode
--
Other alternatives are to flash TWRP with ODIN, then SuperSU from TWRP

No luck bro,i installed Cf auto root file like 3 times, still it keep saying the same thing, then i installed TWRP
its successfully boots up,but when i go to the recovery still i have the stock recovery :'( :'(
Are you using a native PC to flash with ODIN?
Got the Samsung drivers installed?
Mine is the G900F and CF auto root works fine with all firmwares to date, wonder if your bootloader is locked?

Same problem here
Odin 3 V1.85 does everthing correctly, then phone boots correctly, but when I go to recovery, still stock:crying:
Could it be that it has something to do with lollipop 5.0?
Please advice
So long as your bootloader is unlocked, CF Auto Root works fine with the G900F and all Android versions up to the latest

Yes I did.
This is what I did step by step:
I have odin 3V1.85 installed on my pc and from there I followed all instructions
I put following file in PDA. philz_touch_6.26.6-klte.tar.md5
After that phone rebooted succesfully. But when I want to enter recovery it gives me a warning sign and it enters stock recovery
Android system recovery <3e>
LRX21T.G900FXXU1BNL9
I have flashed alot of roms with my previous phone but this is new for me.
So again appolize for all the "stupid"questions!
I hope someone knows the solution.
Hmm odd, i had the exact same problem when rooting about 3 days ago, now it works but i can't for the life of me figure out how i managed to get it to work. Ill get back to you.

Ok guys, try this.
1. Download philz kernel that matches your modem number. I think philz_touch_6.26.6-klte.tar.md5 works good.
2. Put it in ODIN on PDA/AP
3. Uncheck "Auto Reboot" and make sure Re-Partition is NOT CHECKED (keep F. Reset time)
4. Flash
5. It will say RESET on Odin and nothing further when it is done so just wait 2-3 minutes when RESET appears to be entirely sure that the procedure is done.
6. Pull out phones battery.
7. Put it back in and now go into Recovery directly (Vol up+home+power)
8. ???
9. Profit
Hopefully this might work, i think i did the same

Mr.Akalsemann you're a wizzard!
It works! Thank you very much! I'll now finally root my phone and put some awesome rom on it!
Any suggestions anyone?
Well I finally made the switch from Apple to android. I could no longer take the incompatibility with different toys at home. I used to work at RadioShack and I have rooted quite a few phones. I recently purchased a s5 international version, I need to root the phone for mirror play with my appradio. I have spent a few hours reading and trying, I took it to a droid friend of mine and he attempted with no joy. What info do you guys need from me to make thei happen. It says 5.0 (guessing lollipop)....... I tried rooting with Odin.
Thanks for any help guys
Flash TWRP then try flashing SuperSU.zip

Agree with previous poster, but you need to flash *specifically* twrp 2.8.7.0 klte......
For some reason, this version is the only one that works with some LP firmwares....
And make sure 'Reactivation Lock' is switched off before you start.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Thanks I'll try that version. I kno I've tried flashing twrp 10x. When I try to enter twrp mode it never works. It goes to the normal page. I'll do it again tonight when I get home so I can give very clear data regarding what I'm running into.
I have followed the instructions posted by others step by step and it either boots into recover mode as if twrp was never installed or freezes and goes into a boot mode flux. Wish I could just pay someone to root this phone..... I am beginning to think it can not be rooted..... Does anyone have a link for updated instructions bc the ones I'm using are from March 2015...... I am using Odin 3.09.
Did you try CF Auto Root first?
I don't see it mentioned
And try ODIN 3.10.7
He mentioned trying to root using Odin, I guess he tried CF method using the tar file.

Flashing TWRP from ODIN then SuperSU from TWRP is another way to root using ODIN
But also, some people have no clue what they are doing, and try flashing all sorts from ODIN - without CF actually mentioned, we are guessing
Even with Lollipop, you can still root your Galaxy S5 using CF Auto Root. It is flashable via Odin.
When you install custom ROMs or recovery like TWRP, make sure Reactivation Lock is disabled or else it will block any custom binary it would detect.

Download a stock firmware from sammobile.com, preferrably ANE2 KitKat build. Flash it via Odin then once the firmware works, go to Security settings then disable Reactivation Lock. You should be able to flash a custom recovery and boot to it then.

MY ENGLISH SUCKS TRY TO UNDERSTAND
Make sure you have latest twrp 2.8.7
.0 if not go to twrp official website find your device (n910c listed as Note 4 Exynos LTE (treltexx)) then download and flash it.
If you want root on 5.1.1 just flash a custom kernel like Perseus-Halaszk or any custom rom. I believe Cf-root method doesn't work on 5.1.1 atm and will get your phone into a bootloop.
Also next time you're posting make sure its in the right section.

Man i really say thank you but i had the problem that some people are talking that samsung blocked the device by android to downgrade or doing anything in odin... SW rev. check fail. device 2 binary 1 Everything that i do in my device connected to odin gets in this and odin fail
Try following these steps:
1- Download TWRP from here.
2- Download this kernel. (If you are on COI4 get v1.04, COJ5 get v1.05)
3- Put the kernel .zip file on your phone
4- Open Odin and disable AUTO-REBOOT. Import the TWRP into PDA, then flash it.
5- Now take off your battery, put it back in, then boot into recovery. (Boot into Recovery, not the OS!)
6- Flash the kernel .zip file through TWRP and install root when it asks you to.
7- Reboot.
Hope this helps.
My phone is a Samsung Note 3 SM-9005, currently it's stuck in an infinite bootloop even after removing the battery for an hour.
I get this message:
RECOVERY BOOTING ...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
... along with the Samsung SM-N9005 logo, a couple of beeps/buzzes and then it repeats ad infinitum.
Here's what I did over the last day to get to this sorry state of affairs:
1. Upgraded from Android 4.3 (the original operating system) to 5.0 using the Samsung N9005XXUGBOA5 ROM with Odin 3.12. This worked fine but the phone lost root.
2. I rooted the phone again using Odin and Chainfire Auto-Root. All good so far.
3. I installed TWRP (the official TWRP App 1.5, going by my records)
4. I flashed the latest custom recovery which would have been 3.0.x and this seemed to be fine. So far no problems.
5. I then got ideas above my lowly station, apparently. I wanted to flash one of the newer ROMs: [Rom][N7 Port][12.12.2016] [Multi-DPI] Phronesis Rom N7 v4.1 Feature Rich & Smooth
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...m-phronesis-mm-rom-v1-0-feature-rich-t3463244
6. In the instructions, it said to use TWRP recovery version 2.8.7. I found that and flashed it. (Yes, it was for the Samsung SM N9005).
7. I rebooted into recovery mode to make a backup with that 2.8.7 version.
8. Now I'm stuck in boot loop hell with ...
RECOVERY BOOTING ...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
... with the Samsung SM-N9005 logo, a couple of beeps/buzzes and so on (as stated above).
I've tried leaving the battery out for an extended period and this hasn't worked. The phone never gets to the stage where I can talk to it with Odin or get any kind of menu. Is the phone truly bricked now?
If so, was it a critical error to go from the 3.0.x TWRP recovery back to 2.8.7 for the purposes of this custom ROM upgrade?
If not, what can be done to regain control of the phone?
This is obviously an older phone as I've had it for about 3 years now, but I'd love to get it working again if possible. I really loved it and was planning to use it for a couple more years (hence the upgrade path I've explained above).
Can you boot into download mode? I suspect you flash the 4.3 version of twrp, you need a 4.4 version. This one https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4.img.tar.html
Boot into download mode and flash it with odin.
I suggest flashing the latest stock ROM, flash the latest tar version of twrp with Odin, root with supersu.zip in twrp.
Stonedead, you were right on the money. I did what you suggested (Download mode) and that different TWRP file, and it worked.
Thanks so much.
Thanks audit13 also, although I didn't need to go that far to undo my mistake.
I got the same problem with my note 3. Thank you for the solution. Now how do I exactly get TWRP working on my phone. It is already rooted.
See TWRP thread.
Basics flash twrp tar through odin
Root is not needed to install the tar version of TWRP with Odin.
Thanks. Managed to get twrp working now. Also installed the note 8 Rom

Hi JJEgan, thank you for the reply back much appreciated for your time so far,so do you mean twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-eu.tar file?and not twrp 2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4 img.tar file?that's the one I am using to flash the rom with and having problems with.
Hi there again ok im so confused not sure which one, there are so many of the 2.8.7.0 versions with 4.3 or 4.4-img.tar im not sure if im downloading 4.4 or 4.3 as im still a noob and love tech,I have read threads upon this rom problems still can't get the grasp of the simple twrp version I have lte au version android 5,and when I read 2.8.7.0 im think is it 4.4 4.3 or just 2.8.7.0 tar file?I'm following the installation up into the problem of not booting up in stays In galaxy note 3 boot and I have removed the battery 5mi z replaced then recovery and factory reset then it does the same again and I have tried 3 times waited longer each time im thinking maybe go back to stock I don't think my phone is agreeing with me,jjEgan thanks for the info amd time im sorry if annoy you with a simple installation to you, still I have read and grasp the concept of twrp installer version yeah??
Only use 2.8.70 as said later versions wont flash that rom.

Hello everyone,
I was thinking about installing Lineage OS on my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9515 (Value Edition) currently running Stock Android Version 5.0.1 without root.
Is the version of Lineage OS and TWRP I found at https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-cm14-1-galaxy-s4-jfvelte-gt-i9515-t3534552 appropriate for that purpose?
Now, my confusion arises from the fact that different guides seem to give incomplete or even contradictory instructions on how to approach that. As a first step, I need to install a custom recovery, such as TWRP:
Does this require my device to be rooted?
Some guides apparently require my bootloader to be unlocked; Is this necessary? If so, how do I do that?
Other guides suggest that I use Odin. Is this the correct approach? Does my bootloader need to be unlocked for that method? Is a root required?
Anything else I should pay attention to?
Thank you very much in advance
You need to find a guide for your phone
Different phones have different processes
For example Motorola phones require you to unlock the bootloader where as Samsung phones Iv worked with you don't
Some devices you have to root first before you can flash twrp while others you flash twrp first then root
For most Samsung phones around the age of yours you can root using CF-Auto-Root
This is done via odin and all you do is put your phone in download mode load the img file into odin & flash
The same is true for flashing twrp
Here are the files for your phone
CF-Auto-Root
TWRP
Flash each image in odin
Not able to root S4 GT-I9515

What do you mean by brick?
Does the twrp boot?
You must boot twrp straight after it's flashed - if you don't and your phone starts to boot you need to reflash it (once booted to twrp for the first time the recovery will stick)
Also if you swipe to allow modifications in twrp your rom may not boot unless you disable dm-verity - this can be done with a root zip eg CF-Auto-Root or magisk
Remember you may need to do other steps like enabling adb debugging & oem unlock before using CF-Auto-Root
You also may need to root before flashing twrp
That is the twrp for the S4 GT-I9515 - if you have a different variant it will not work
If you have a different model of S4 check the twrp website to see if there is an official version
I don't own your device - I'm sure there's guides that will you step by step process if you Google

That is the twrp for the S4 GT-I9515 - if you have a different variant it will not work
If you have a different model of S4 check the twrp website to see if there is an official version
I don't own your device - I'm sure there's guides that will you step by step process if you Google

when you install it with odin, it starts for some seconds and stops with a FAIL. So the smartphone become bricked!!! I have the same model of s4 (I9515)

Flashing a recovery should not brick your device - you are just replacing stock recovery with a custom one - your phone should boot regardless but anyway
I assume you have enabled USB debugging - enabled oem unlock (if it's on your device) and flashed CF-Auto-Root first
I also assume you are flashing the tar image in the AP section of odin (you may need to Unzip to get filename.tar)
If you have done all the above search Google for a step by step guide for your device
Since I don't own this device I can't offer anymore support than that

Long as it's the correct firmware for the device no reason why it wouldn't flash
Check download mode & make sure that the model number matches the firmware
If the firmware is also failing to flash I would guess there is a problem with your setup rather than the files (assuming the files are correct)
