Something strange that I found out.
Go to Settings, then Phone. Under Keypad, there is a choice of Tones, Beep or Off.
It seems that selecting either Tones or Beep gives the same effect, ie whenever I start keying in phone numbers using the onscreen keypad within the Phone application (not the Phone Pad SIP), I hear DMTF tones.
What I want is for each keypress to generate a standard "beep" sound, but that doesn't seem to work.
I tried it on a colleague's Mini and am convinced that it is a bug. :?
Anyone knows of a workaround?
Anyone has the same problem???
When calling someone whos already on the phone, I get the usual busy tone - but on the Vario II's speaker (loud) (like it turns the speaker on automatically,... weird) Its annoying if I want to make a quite call at the office!
Yep, I get that as well! Effin' annoying it is as well when you've got the unit to your ear
I had this same issue once. I am using a HTC branded TyTN. My normal network is Cingular in the US, and I do not get this issue when using my Cingular SIM. I was recently in Singapore using a SingTel SIM, and the busy tone would come out the speaker. When I switched to a M1 SIM (also in Singapore, blasted SingTel does not allow data on prepaid!), I did not have the problem anymore. I also did not have this when using SMART prepaid in Manila or when using DTAC prepaid in Thailand. Also, I was using the stock TyTN ROM at the time. I have since switched to 1.35, but I have not had a chance to travel yet to see if the new ROM fixes the issue.
Same here. Really annoying.
Any solutions, guys?
Here is a fix, HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Sounds/BusyTone and change the wavfile for a quieter one, I use the busytone.wav file which i think gets installed withe skype ( i am not quite sure where it is originally from, just found it in my windows directory).
Or you can just remove the letters from the 'script' entry there - as I posted earlier today, which will disable it completely.
I don't know if this has been asked/answered but when i dial a phone number using the keypad the sound of the keys goes through the external speaker on the phone- is there a reg edit to make dialing key sounds go through the earpiece and not the speaker?
Thanks
I have the busy tone problem with my O2 trion. I use the workaround of nathanlock and it works great. I also contacted HTC about the problem. They claim that they have never heard about it.
touch tones and busy tone really loud
I have the same issue. i'd really like to fix both. the busy tone is extremely loud, and the dialing tones let everyone in a 10 cubicle radius know you are making a call. I have a love hate relationship with my 8525. love the things it can do, hate the things it sometimes does....
found some sound keys for the dial buttons in the registry, but nothing that looks like volume settings for them.
I have the same issue! it was really anoying... not anymore
tone problem
Nero would you like to explain how you solved the problem
I'm also having the problem with the tones coming out of the speaker when dialling. Additionally when i push the red/orange phone button the phone makes a high pitched sounds from the speaker.
I really dont remember either of these problems a couple weeks ago when I finished properly flashing it. Some one mentioned skype. I did recently install that.
Same here. Strange problem.
workaround update: change "Script" value to "ap" for tone to play only once, and change "Sound" value to "busytone.wav" (comes in rom, at least for HTC TyTN) - it's not loud at all.
Keypad sound issue
I only have the keypad issue. I have looked around but have not been able to find a solution. I would like to have the sound from the keypad in the earphone not on the speaker.
Is this the way the tytn is setup or is it just the group here that has the issue?
Can your "Busy Tone" fix also fix the keypad speaker problem?

HTC Hermes 200 - IPL 1.01 / SPL 1.40.Oli / ROM 3.24.0.4 / GSM 1.40.30.00 (WM6 LVSW Edition 2007/04/08) + Wifi update
I've solved the keypad issue by selecting "Off" in the Keypad combo box at the end of the Phone Setting Page.
I hope it helps.
Cheers

I not really sure where you set this option, keypad combo?
It may be me, but can you be more specific, please?
The option I've found is under Settings-> Phone
You may see three Combo lists: Ring type, Ring Tone and Keypad
For the Keypad you can have "Long Tones", "Short Tones" and "Off".
If you take the last one you won't hear anything when you press use the keypad for making a call.

Great got it, Thanks! How blind am I?
Solution to busy tone problem
I had the same problem regarding the busy tone going through the speaker. I also had the added aggravation that, after each time that problem happened, my calls would divert straight to voicemail until I soft reset.
Another problem I used to have was that if I had call waiting and tried to answer the waiting call, the phone would freeze and I would have to soft reset with the stylus.
I was using an SPV M3100 with the original Orange UK ROM in Spain, with a Vodafone Spain SIM.
I believe these are simply bugs in the early radio roms. They show up with unpredictable combinations of roaming or using different sims than those of the original ROM operator's.
I fixed both problems by upgrading my radio.
Hope that helps.
Hi all,
I have a Galaxy S4 running the stock Rogers ROM. I hear the Waterdrop sounds when I use the dialer - this is OK, but after I get connected to a system (i.e. conference bridge, IVR, etc.), I don't hear DTMF tones when I press my keys. However, the far end system seems to respond OK, so I guess something is transmitted...
I tried calling myself to see if DTMF tones are being sounded, and yes they're being sent.
Is it expected that the Galaxy dialer doesn't play back any DTMF tones after it is connected?
Thanks.
... Doh, I guess no one else has a similar problem?
Hi everyone,
I have recently bought Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I am located in Mumbai (India). My service provider is Vodafone. I have attached a screenshot about the details of my phone like version, build etc. I am facing a weird problem. Whenever I am on call (whether i have made a call or I have received a call) the call volume gets reset to maximum everytime. I have tried to set the volume at mid level using the setting icon that is present on the right side of the call volume bar but in vain. My adapt sound is disabled.
Please tell me what can be the issue and how can i resolved it.
Thanks in advance.

Having trouble with vibration notifications on an S4 GT 19506 version 4.2.2 and Baseband I9506XXUBMK7
I have set the phone to vibrate all the time on missed calls, sms messages etc but it has recently stopped doing this. Tried everything in the settings and have a sound notification widget and when I change this to vibrate it won’t vibrate
Also downloaded the vibration notifier app and still cannot get phone to vibrate
Anyone got any possible solutions or anything I am missing?
Hello,
Maybe your vibrator motor is broken.
To test it, in dialpad write *#0*# and select Vibration test
