EVC Get SIM Phone number

Can anyone tell me the best way (with code example ideally!) to get the current phone number of the sim in the phone. I've tried SMSGetPhoneNumber but this doesn't work with some SIMs (namely an O2 UK sim).
I believe that SMSGetPhoneNumber lineGetAddressCaps should do it, right?

I thought so too,
but i've read alot about it, and not all sim cards contain the phonenumber.. One way you can see if you are storing your number, is to open the Start -> Programs -> Sim Manager... and choose Tools -> List own numbers...
if the idx there is empty .. i assume you cannot find you number.. only imei is stored on your phone... I might be mistaken .. but this is what i concluded..

Thanks for your comments. We were both right!
I figured it out after looking on WIVIT's website, their lineswitcher, in their faq they give the same info you did.
Obviously SMSGetPhoneNumber can't get the phonenumber unless you've already stored one. I was surprised that not all SIMs have them stored, but you can enter your own with the sim manager, and then SMSGetPhoneNumber works perfectly. See examples of my plugin in the Magician > "See your today screen" thread!

Magician Disable Sim phone list access

Hi,
I've transferred all my contacts on my SIM into pOutlook contacts. The direct consequence of this is redundant entry when i use the smart dialing. To avoid this, i'm looking for a way to disable the SIM phone list access. Disable doesn't mean deleting all entry on my SIM because i switch my SIM regularly from one phone to another so i need to keep them on the SIM.
Anyone has got an idea ?

Phone number display plugin

Hi,
Does anybody know if there is a plugin that displays the carrier and phone number of the current sim in the phone (other than Wivit Sim Switcher which does not yet work on WM5)? I travel significantly so am always swapping pre-paid sims and having to search for the number when on a call and it would be much easier to have it on the today screen.

...why don't you use simmanager and put in your (simcard)number into the list with a name like MY NUMBER than it's always by hand...

Thanks, an option, but means I have to search through menus etc, to find the number and also key it in initially. I was looking for a small plugin that would automatically display the provider and number as soon as I put the sim in.

Phone number in about phone????

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PROGRAM MY NUMBER. FOR EXAMPLE IF I CLICK ON TIKL WHICH IS A WALKIE TALKIE THAT GOES BY YOUR PHONE NUMBER IT WONT LET ME USE IT BECAUSE, MY PHONE DOESNT RECOGNIZE MY TELEFONE NUMBER.... DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PROgram the phone number into the phone, sorry about the caps lock didnt notice.... im using simple mobile....thanks please pm me on this if you know anything about this thanks

It would have been actually helpful if you stated which rom you used. But ill take it as CM7 as its very common problem.
Settings> Call Settings> Additional settings> My phone number.
So when you assign it there it shows up under about phone.

if you google your question, it would suggest calling tmobile to configure the sim phone number for you...im running on stock. or just use facebook contacts

Phone number changes when dialing an International Number

Hi All, I have a connection with H2O wireless in USA. I have this weird problem with my S7 Edge G935FD where whenever I dial an International number, I get a message on screen that says "Number changed by sim" and then the number changes to an US number. This only happens when I dial an International number.
I tried the sim on a Note 2 where it's working fine and the number doesn't get changed. So I'm pretty sure it's something with the phone.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue because whatever International number I dial, I'm finally getting the US number in my call logs and it's impossible to know which number I dialed.

look if you have some sort of SIM management app. If not look under networks and advanced dialing options. You need to disable the automatic code. I think it's set to something and that's what would change the numbers.

I don't see any option where I could disable the automatic code. Looked everywhere in the phone. I don't have advanced dialing options either. I just factory reset my phone and still the same problem. Any help please?

I ran into the same problem and found that if the phone number is listed with a + in front of the area code, i.e. +4051112222, it will be changed by the sim.
To solve this, dial a 1 follow by the area code & number.
