problem setting multiple wallpapers on lockscreen . - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

previously in samsung galaxy s7 edge, phone had a option to set upto 30 different wallpapers on lockscreen.
plz help. if any other app to set.

I'm missing this feature as well.... funny thing tho: when I set up my S8+, I recoverd the data from my s& Edge (I had the 30 WP setted up on the S7 Edge) but later I chaged the WP and tried to set up the 30 WP again o and I just can't do it.
Since it worked when I restored the data, It means the feauture exist but it's burried somewhere in the software.

Try using an app like PhotoPhase or another option is to make a shortcut to the menu (most likely hidden if it carried it over from a backup) via nova launcher.

[Q] Missing - lock screen shortcuts, ability to change bottom row of apps

Hey everybody,
Long long time reader, first time poster.
I've just bought a Galaxy Note 3, because I was so happy with the Note 2 I just had to have the new one.
To my surprise, there's a couple of fundamental features missing from my ****ty AU version (my Note 2 was an International Version).
There doesn't seem to be an option to enable lockscreen shortcuts, I've seen videos online of people enabling these on their respective Note 3's, but the AU version just doesn't seem to have it.
The other thing that is really grinding my gears is that the bottom row of apps on the homescreen is locked. Ie. they can not be moved or changed (Phone, Contacts, Messages, Internet, Apps), why in gods name would Samsung ever lock something like that?
There is one last thing, but I can't be sure if this is an isolated AU version issue or one that is across the board, but when I plug in my headphones, it doesn't take me to that wonderful Music specific screen like the Note 2 did. Is this something that has just been omitted from this phone or is it entirely an AU specific thing?
My question then becomes, is there anything I can do about this?
I've noticed a JB 4.3 Firmware kicking about and I would gladly void my warranty to get back these features. But I don't want to void my warranty and still not have these features, if you know what I mean.
I'd really appreciate any advice on this, as I said, I've been a long time reader of this forum, any time I've googled anything about my phone, this is the place I end up, so I know you're a knowledgeable bunch, help me out
Thanks in advance, I'll be watching this space.
Mine doesn't even have the lock screen apps but I have a favorite apps widget on the lock screen.
Plus I don't have the flare in lock screen like I saw in a video review.
I have the Germany Snapdragon version

I hate the locked dock as well .... also, the Australian version of touchwiz does not work in landscape mode. eg: if you use Ultimate Rotation Control to force the home screen to rotate, the touchwiz icons wont align properly in landscape.
I have complained on their Samsung Australia facebook, but none of the rep has replied.
https://www.facebook.com/SamsungAustralia/posts/10151943776798523
I think it is the decision of the samsung Australia to lock the dock and not allow us to change it.
maybe we need to form a petition on change.org

If you don't care about voiding your warranty then it's easy fixed. It just involves deleting a couple of lines in others.xml which you can do with root explorer or a similar root file manager. I have and more all good

Aus Note 3
Regarding the Aussie Note 3 dock etc, I believe this is due to the ongoing legal crap between Sammy & Apple.
Use a custom launcher or flash other firmware?
Hi all. I am from Romania, Europe, and bought on 25th september a Note 3 from Korea. Is a N900K model, unlocked, so is working with my SIM from Vodafone RO. I had a Note 2 before and I was very happy with it. But now... I don't know... There are some problems and one is the lock screen shortcuts that I can't change. There is a "slide to right" menu were you can put the shortcuts, but not directly on the lock screen. Why?
thanks, it works without any security ... but in the my note 1 t can still have shortcut with some security

Galaxy Note 3 missing shortcut icons
Last week, I bought Samsung Galaxy Note 3. All features and configurations are very nice. But one thing is that I saw in Youtube video clips, for the other person's Note 3 have the shortcuts like S Voice, Action note and Touchwiz home but not for my one. Though I tried to create these icons, I can't do it. I know these apps are in there. It takes more than 4 days for me. No success. Can you help me. I can't find the clues anywhere.

in /system/csc the two files I checked were feature.xml & others.xml.
I think others.xml may not be important, I edited the option in there and still had no access to the Hotseat. Buit feature.xml worked.
The setting to change is
<CscFeature_Launcher_ReplaceHotseatAreaInEditMode>true</CscFeature_Launcher_ReplaceHotseatAreaInEditMode>
set it to false.
reboot, and you now can edit the hotseat / bottom row. thank christ for that.
So while teaserguy was only half helpful, a little bit of tinkering did help.
also, just incase anyone is unaware, yes.. you need to root your device to access these files.

Q: Edge Screen notification options

Hi guys,
Loving my new S6 Edge+! #TeamSamsung !
OK, so to the question:
Is it possible to somehow set-up that the Edge Screen that uppon reciving an Email (on Gmail) or an SMS you get an Edge Screen notification (when your Home Screen is dark) ?
At first I was expecting this as a normal feature - but from browsing the new about it, it seems Edge+ does not actually support this and you need to "Swipe" the Edge Screen in order to display it.
If this is not possible to do as of now - should I post it as a "Request" under Apps forums or Original Android Development ? (New on XDA btw)
Thanks a lot,
David
I was thinking about the same thing today. It would be nice to use it in wider range. The best option would be to set what kind of information are displayed on edge screen(choose aps) and for how long display will be light up. If you have any apps/suggestions we would be grateful.

Thanks for your reply.
EDIT:
Ok I tried this app from galaxy apps since I have no root.
It is not exactly what I was looking for. I will try to give more details.
What I want is an application which would redirect all notifications (phone in silent mode) to edge screen for example when I am on a meeting. Do not know if anything like this exists but it would be nice.

I think RuggedHunter's app does that. But It also needs root permission.

Mobile data toggle?

Mobile Data on/off toggle is missing in the quick toggles when we pull down the statusbar. I want it back. Anyways to do that?
+1 This for sure. I pre-ordered my S7 Edge and I love this phone, but what blew me away was when I noticed this right off the bat after walking out of the AT&T store. I tried to turn off my data to save on my plan unless I absolutely needed it, and the toggle is nowhere to be found. I switched from a Galaxy S4 Active SHV-E470S and the toggle was always there even after the OTA update. This phone is brand new. WTF Samsung?
One thing I did notice is that the "Usage Manager" app that is pre-installed from AT&T has a data toggle built into it that turns off the data, but it seems more like a modified application to work with the phone rather than a system toggle that could be linked somewhere. Very odd.
Anyone with an answer or any ideas on this, your help is tremendously appreciated!
EDIT:
Here's a screenshot of the AT&T Usage Manager app I mentioned earlier, not sure it will be of much help but we have to start somewhere.

That's weird, I have my data toggle switch right here. Been there since I got the phone.

Same here no mobile data toggle option. Also with my s6 before, i tried the Quick Panel Restore app on galaxy app store, and it works. But i couldn't fine it anymore.
@sindre2104 what is your carrier? And when you click the edit option in the toggles panel, does it give you the option to add or remove that toggle? That's very odd, half of us seem to have no toggle while you and likely a few others do have it. So the S7 Edge does have the data toggle ability.
The question now is, how do the rest of us without that toggle enable it?
AT&T removed it, it's not Samsung's fault.
I have an AT&T S7 Edge, no mobile data toggle. I've tried the quick toggle restore, and the quick toggle manager. I don't believe they work on Android M.
That's strange. Well, I guess for the time being everyone on AT&T will have to stick with the "Usage Manager" app to be able to somewhat quickly toggle mobile data, without digging in the settings app. Talk about an inconvenient change, I haven't the slightest idea why they thought it would be a good idea to remove it.
Who knows though, maybe there will be an update or patch for it soon, or a compatible app that can fix the issue. It's such a common feature, removing it was a horrible idea.
Anyone else having this issue outside of AT&T?
No toggle on my Sprint phone either.
So it seems to be mainly a U.S. issue, I'm guessing (though @mathrania is in India and has the same issue). @sindre2104 showed that he can use the toggle right out of the box, but his carrier is Telenor from Norway.
I'm also noticing a lot of subtle but noticeable differences in each device screenshot presented, for instance my device says "flashlight" rather than "torch" in the toggle window, among other things.
I simply can't figure out why they would remove the feature in certain countries while leaving it there in others. There's no viable explanation for it
I just emailed Xperiacle Apps about this, they're the developers of the patch app released to fix a nearly identical issue that was present in the Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge models called "QuickPanel Manager". The app is $1.48 in the Play Store, linked below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xpe.app.quicksettings.manager&hl=en
As for the official Samsung "QuickPanel Restore" app released for the S6 and S6 Edge here, I'm going to take the risk and see if it can work on the S7. If not, it's back to the drawing board from there.

No usage app. I have to go to settings/data usage/ to turn off mobile data.
EDIT: I do have a similar app under Settings/Smart manager. That shows battery, storage, and ram usage.
Downloaded the official QuickPanel Restore APK file from the XDA thread and installed it. Lookout registered it as "riskware" so I had to temporarily disable security and unknown sources before the install. It looks nothing like it does on the S6 and S6 Edge, it was just a plain button in the middle of the screen. When tapped it brought up a toast notification that read "no toggles to restore". I checked my toggle window and nothing changed. Seems like we'll have to dig deeper on this one.
Hopefully Samsung releases a similar app for the S7 and S7 Edge to patch the removal of this and other toggles. I'm out of ideas for the moment.
It seems that both the S6 and S7 international versions have the data toggles enabled out of the box. Maybe the software really is engineered this way for the carrier-specific models alone, though I don't know why. I'll post back if I find out anything new, but it's starting to look like they designed it this way intentionally.
I've got the toggle on exynos version purchased direct from Samsung.
Sneaky move is carriers have removed the option from quick settings.
I bought it from Rogers Canada... Why the hell they removed it?
Using international version. Toggle is right here
Using the Canadian S7 Edge (bought from Samsung store but simlocked to Fido) and no toggle. I hope they make an app that lets us restore it soon.
AT&T S7 Edge, no toggle like the others.
Well that's one thing verizon didnt remove

I don't know if you are on MM yet but I noticed that there is a thing under App's (on MM) in settings where you can set what apps draw over e.g.. facebook chat bubbles. I think if you enable your apps that you want notifying you on lock-screen to draw over mode then it may show on lock-screen. Its working so far for my weather updates from google app... I could be entirely wrong and I am using a fairly wonky build of MM but I just thought I would offer my insight Best of luck bud.

I am not on marshmallow as yet waiting for the Ota
I'm sure MM will fix that for you bud!
I do know the struggle, waiting on OTA's for us in New Zealand is painful. On top of the fact that before I went MM I wasn't getting notifications at all, calls missed cause it wasn't bringing the call screen up...all sorts of havoc.
Worst comes to worst you could try factory restore, then do the theme thing that other guy mentioned. You should technically have a default, it's weird you are missing it.

'Omega Rom' Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Alterations Request

Hi Indie,
OK have now installed Omega Rom, restored my backed up 'data' in so all my settings, etc are back and all is good except....
Would it be possible to add an option (maybe on install) to remove the Samsung bloatware? (S-Voice, S-Planner, Quick Connect, Samsung Internet Browser)
All that stuff that is there but nobody ever uses [I use google now which has voice, and google calendar]
S-Planner is the worst because when disabled it just keeps and ongoing notification telling you its disabled (REALLY ANNOYING)
I'd be a fully happy man if this could be done in the next update,
Cheers!
