Just thought I'd let you guys know that Listables works great on Xoom. I figure that most people have probably manually installed a lot of the apps on their phones using apks and since we can't nandroid yet, this would be a good way to keep a list of all the apps you currently have on your device. Just check off your apps in the list, email/dropbox/bluetooth as html file(w/ QR codes, links to market, etc.),xml, or plain text. It can do a few more things as well. Anyway, check it out!

Edit: Hmm...maybe this should have been put in the Themes and Apps subforum. Sorry about that!!
Hopefully I'm posting in the correct section. Found this and wanted to share it. A simple tool to block bloatware of many phones, with and without root. Check out the following forum :

Just a note for anyone who doesn't want to use a tool for this (or is on a non-Windows platform). Everything that tool does can be accomplished without root via the ADB command interface described in this topic in our own forum
Nice cross link nonetheless, have a thanks
Ironically, I used the method that you're talking about on my z3c.
I thought this tool makes the process simpler as a frontend with some descriptions too.
It works works on my z3c without root because of kitkat. Other roms do require root.
And you're right, windows only application, good call
Essentially it just freezes the app, which without root is a very good thing, should you need to enable it again.
Thanks, though does anyone know how to block the Enterprise Service? It unblocks itself as soon as I try to block it.
Edit: never mind I got it, had to revoke its device admin rights before blocking it. Annoyingly a bunch of previously disabled apps got enabled again. smh.

Yeah, I had the same thing here, I froze some with Titanium Backup (root) and they unfroze themselves....
I have access to an unlocked and a locked device, the same thing happened when I tried to disable apps @ the one with the locked BL. The thing that helped me was clearing the data/cache for the apps that I were about to disable. (aka before disabling them.)
Try that.

Correct, we had that (a longer time) before: you have to disable it in settings -> security -> administrators before you block it. Don't confuse disabling with blocking. Disabled Apps may get enabled again after disabling device admins, blocked ones shouldn't.
Just for the sake of completion, here is the complete adb tutorial+ a nice list of processes which can be disabled so you dont have to look them all up

Why does he list Small Apps as one of the main bloatwares to block? I'd think small apps is actually quite a useful addition to many.

I agree but he states "You could leave the small app launcher/widget if you like it." . Apparently some ppl just dont like it .
Sorry to bother you guys, I would really like to kill/freeze some apps from this great device, in the easiest way possible and WITHOUT connecting the device to the computer. Is it possible to enter all those commands in a Terminal Emulator on the phone itself? Would it be great if we can do like a script or a batch that disable all the apps we dont need/want so, as soon as we reset the phone, it will disable/kill them in an easy way, not 1 by 1 going into the applications list.
Sorry again if this was a stupid question, but this is chinese for me.
Thanks in advance.

Wow... Great info i really like it...
Nice App!! Would be nice making a list of secure app to be block, without making any damage to the phone Like com.sony.touchscreen, Device Usage, User Data Logging and Crash Monitor what does each one?
I tried to use a Terminal Emulator and kill the What's New using PM BLOCK blah blah blah......it says "killed" but the app is still working.......what is wrong? *in english, please
Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know what these apps are?
"GYS Inter Configuration" & ""PathTime Inter Configuration"
I am going through my phone trying to delete and disable some of my unused apps. As I come across apps I am unfamiliar with I do a quick search to find out a little more before I get rid of it.
These apps in particular I cannot find any information on... I'm assuming I can just delete them and move on, but the fact that I cannot find anything on them is puzzling me.

Disable DT Ignite if you see it listed, as that will install apps that you don't want randomly as well. I've never heard of those apps, and would recommend disable/uninstalling if possible.

Thanks!
I actually did see DT and immediately disabled it... I remember reading an article about DT a while back, but my old phone was rooted.... Now, with my new S7, I forgot all about it until I saw it installed... Sure enough, I had about half a dozen games and other garbage I'd never personally installed , on my phone... I'm going to delete the Inter Config apps now, especially after seeing those others installed without my permission. Still a little puzzled that I've found absolutely nothing on these apps on the web. Not even anyone else complaining or asking about them... Oh well, uninstalling and moving on with my life!
What we need to do is disable it FULLY, not just the button that executes Bixby. It's still running "under the hood"…
From Samsung's own web page:
"Bixby Talks: Bixby knows your phone’s apps and how to use them."
"Bixby sees: Bixby lives inside your Camera, Gallery and Internet to give you a deeper understanding of what you’re looking at"
"Bixby learns your routine, so you’ll always have the right content ready when you need it. From your recent messages and upcoming events, to your next Uber ride and daily news—Bixby pulls the most important information from different apps"
I will look into it, most of it should be app related, but I've been out of the android game for a couple years now.. possibly some stuff tied into the framework. Shouldn't be impossible. ?
Edit: As far as Camera goes, I'm not sure.. I'd assume disabling bixbys apks would remove its features from the camera, but don't take my word for it right now.
Thank you, master ?
I also completely forgot the boatloader is locked on T-Mobile, can you tell I've been out of the scene too long? Lol serious question, don't mean to take this thread off course too far, but can you root now with a locked boot loader, or is that not possible? If it's not possible and we can't root it to install custom firmware, we may be SOL if disabling apks causes the camera to crash or something dumb like that...
Maybe be able to use the Package Disabler app to disable it. Use it on my S6.
I seem to remember at some point I was fiddling with the settings and I am sure I saw something about apps that auto-start and it was possible to turn off certain apps that auto-start, but I cannot locate that option anywhere. Maybe it was not even this phone!
Then I thought I saw an option to easily stop apps from a long list of them, maybe I just had a dream?
Any ideas what I'm talking about?
