Straight Talk Galaxy S8 - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I've been considering purchasing a Straight Talk Galaxy S8 since it's so much cheaper, but I was curious if anyone had any idea what firmware these come running? I hear they're generally in Verizon since those are the unlocked ones, but does anyone know if they come with a Straight Talk branded firmware? My thought is that someone will eventually figure out how to carrier flash and then it shouldn't matter. Any thoughts?

[Q] Galaxy s4 switching carriers

Hi guys, new here. Used the place a lot when i needed help, then decided to make a account.
Anyway, i couldnt find a Straight Talk galaxy s4 specific forum so i figured the main s4 forum is where i should post this.
I have 2 Straight talk galaxy s4's i bought new, and im currently in cricket. Well i need to replace my old CDMA s4 with a new GSM one. The straight talk s4's i got are the ATT tower versions. Now, when i put a att or gsm cricket sim in, they say invalid sim. But read att sims fine. If i put the straight talk or gsm cricket sim in a att phone.. Theyre read fine. Which i dont understand. So my question is, can i flash a ATT stock touchwiz rom to them via odin to make them read the att and cricket sim's? Id just try it but dont want to brick them, figured i would ask first in case somebody already tried.
Both phones are identical. Specs are:
16gb black Straight talk galaxy s4
Model No: SM-S975L(GP)
Android 4.3
Touchwiz, un rooted, brand new barely even been powered on.
Thanks!
Current Straight Talk S4 units use T-Mobile towers, not AT&T. Flashing a new ROM won't make them read the SIM cards you're trying to use, and for the Straight Talk S4 will likely hard brick it. Your phones need to be carrier unlocked, which only Straight Talk, at their discretion, can do. As multiple users here have discovered, purchasing an unlock code does not permanently unlock the S4 and half the time doesn't even work.

[Q] Your opinion of GSM Nation?

Hi,
I am on AT&T using a T-Mobile S5 because it's a better device to run RoMs on. Someone suggested GSM nation as a place to purchase a Galaxy S6 unlocked. I am looking for folks who have tried that, and am curious how the experience went for them. It would seem that they sold the 9000M version of the S5.
Was it updated faster then Carrier versions?
Was it limited at all by not have Carrier bloat?
How was your warrantee experience, if you had to use it?
Any other thoughts?
I suppose I can buy an S6 outright from T-Mobile and just put my Sim in it, but I thought I would explore all my options.
Thanks!

N6P on Straight Talk - Verizon

I'm going to be switching here from Sprint to Verizon, and was looking at going the Straight Talk route. My question is, has anyone successfully activated their 6P through Straight Talk (Verizon) yet and what are the steps to do so? Surprisingly, I can't seem to find much information relating to activating unlocked phones on Straight Talk; this includes the Nexus 6. I have a few other Verizon phones, including a S4, so I can do a SIM swap if needed.
From what information I've gathered, it seems like using Straight Talk is kind of a crapshoot and that their customer service is next to useless. Does anyone have any insight to provide regarding Straight Talk in general?

Two part question about buying an unlocked Samsung S5 , help please

Ok, I hope this isn't a totally stupid question, but here goes. My trusty old Galaxy S Blaze is, well, getting old, and I've decided after much research that I want a Galaxy S5. I'm also thinking to switch my carrier from Tmobile to Straight Talk, but would like to piggyback off the Verizon network as I've heard many good things about them. Tmobile is driving me nuts with dropped calls, coverage that sucks, etc.
Soooo....
Part One: can I use my Blaze's sim card in an new unlocked Verizon S5 that I may buy through ebay?
Part Two: Can I then take said new phone and hook up with Straight Talk? I'm just unsure because of the whole GSM/CDMA thing.
Thank you in advance!

How do I bring my galaxy s10+ bought from verizon to sprint

I have a Samsung S10 plus bought from Verizon and its unlocked and paid in full. I am trying to take this phone to work with sprint network but after entering the IMEI on sprint website, Sprint says 'it is not compatible and can't be activated'. Phone details are:
Model: SM-G975U
Baseband version: G975USQS2BSI4
Could it be because of baseband version or firmware? Any idea how I could make this phone work on Sprint network, I am stuck right now. Any help, much appreciated.
No one answered? ****, things are quiet. WIth the S20 coming out, I was looking at giving my painfully expensive S10+ (ceramic, 512g) to my kid, who is on Sprint. I went through this with my S9, Sprint won't take it. It's fully compatible, but unless the IMEI is in their system (their device or an unlocked) they won't do it. Anyone confirm if that's still the case?

Yep.. sure is.. unless u get lucky and find someone willing to add the IMEI into the system but they're not supposed to and most are not smart and wouldn't even look for the right escalation process.
