Bixby without navbar, mod apk - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello,
Because S7 edge does not have navbar with softkeys like S8, how could I mod Bixby apk to adapt height size to hide navbar space?
I know how to decompile/recompile apk but how to identify which value to mod?
Thanks a lot

to hide softkeys you need to go into system >> build.prop and find this line ... qemu.hw.mainkeys ..... change the value from 1 to 0 ( or delete the entire line) and then reboot your phone [emoji6]

it's the popup_top_dark.9.png and popup_bottom_dark.9.png
if you edited it other apps using that png file will also be change.
Thanks to all, I have ICS task switcher now and is awesome, but I have too big popup pngs with the right color, and medium popup pngs with ugly color. I think the solution is resize the "BIG" popup pngs.
Sugesstions?
d3cka, awesome guide!

Should work with all latest Rooted Samsung Galaxy Devices
Install Root Explorer or similar File Browser
Go to /system/csc/others.xml and edit
Insert this between <FeatureSet> and Save-Exit

Do any of these enable the full stop on the numeric pad?

Can I "hide" the soft keys without pie?

I like having the soft keys always present, as compared to using pie, but I want 3 dots instead of actual icons all the time so it doesn't feel too intrusive. Is this possible?

Depends on the ROM. On most of them you can just theme the navbar icons. So, yes it's possible. Check out the themes and apps forum section.

[Q] How to get AOSP Soft Keys Style

I really love this 4-buttons style of AOSP, menu button is on very right position, and seems like it does not take space. Like bellow.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Does anyone know how to get that instead of stock soft keys? Or what application provide soft keys customization function including adding that menu soft key?
Thank you

Do you have any solution that make it always on instead of auto hide

Have you given pie a try? also GMD auto hide soft keys can be turned on all the time but then you have it cutting into content... sadly Softkeyz dosnt work with the G2 so for now i think the only way to get stock AOSP softkeys would be to rom an AOSP rom... i would suggest trying out pie though! didnt think id like it as much on this phone.. i just hide with GMD auto hide soft keys all the time and downloaded the PIE app from the play store... full 5.2 inch display is a win for me

PIE controls for S8 (root req.)

This is what I wanted out of my S8+ the moment I heard Samsung was going soft nav bar style... PIE Control!!
Heres how to do it;
Install a pie control interface from play, here are a couple;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ace.jun.simplepie&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.halo&hl=en
Then add this line to build.prop under /system/ dir to disable soft nav bar;
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Save and reboot
May want to think about using titanium to convert user app pie controls to system app as well to prevent accidental uninstall (I haven't done that yet.)

LMT is the second most important app on any phone I use. Pie, gestures, ISAS.... beautiful tasker compatibility ?

Thanks for the info. Quick question though, is there a way to permanently hide the Navigation Bar without Root? I'm familiar with the above method of the Build.prop, but I'm not rooted currently, and can't seem to figure out how to remove it.
