For the last few weeks, my phone has been rebooting on its own, usually at very inconvenient times. This past weekend, while I was roaming in Canada, it was happening at least 5 times a day. It also wouldn't recognize any mobile data (I spoke with Sprint to confirm that I had all settings correct).
It's also charging slowly when in the wireless charger.
Anyone else having anything similar?

Random reboots? Sounds like a rogue app could be running and stealing all your ram which could cause phone to spontaneously reboot. What are the last 5 apps you installed? 5 reboots in a day isn't normal, even 1 reboot a week isn't normal. I would delete apps 1 by 1 to test it out. Also, you could try a memory management tool that puts apps 2 sleep when your screen is off to allocate more ram. I use one called "Memory Booster Full" and it has a bunch of options. You can disable all the apps that run on start up and have it monitor your memory usage.

Hello. My Galaxy S7 also has problems with random reboots but less frequently than your phone. I have a Galaxy S7 and since the update to Android Nougat 7.0, my phone restarts randomly, it can stay an entire week without restart and it can also restart 2 days in a row. It's totally random but the average is a restart every 6-7 days. I have reset to the factory settings and I have reinstalled only the most important applications (facebook messenger, viber, yahoo mail) but unfortunately about ten days after reset, the problem has reappeared.
After having no luck on my own, I took it to Sprint. They did a total factory reset and it did seem like the last Sprint update hadn't taken fully. I also made sure to not install any task killers or crazy system modifying apps. It now seems to be doing much better.
Battery lasting longer and only one reboot since the reset.

My Note4 was updated to Lollipop about 2 weeks ago and it was running ok until 3 days ago where it keeps on restarting, freezing up, not responsive etc.
The last application that I installed was "FACEBOOK GROUP" but I'm sure this isn't the problem because of the factory reset as explained below.
I have done a factory reset, but I reinstalled all the applications (except Facebook Group), but the problem still persists. It even restarting without it's being touched. Per day, it could restart up to 15 times.
Most of the problem appears when the phone goes into an idle state and won't turn on unless I do a battery pull (like Blackberry).
But sometimes it would respond from the idle state after a 20-30 seconds.
I did find an article that the motion and gestures are causing the unresponsive issue, in which I have followed and disabled all the motion and gestures, this doesn't help. Problem persists.
I have talked to the Samsung Tech support and they told me that I would have to bring it to the service center in Singapore (I live in Jakarta) and they would need to diagnose it. I did mentioned that I want a new phone but they said that they don't have exchange policy. This is really bad because Iphone has an exchange policy, why doesn't Samsung have one too??
Anyone in Singapore maybe have the same issue? or have a knowledge about the exchange policy?
Have you tried uninstalling Facebook Group from your Note 4? It seems to me that the Facebook Group App must be causing some sort of problem with your Note 4.

After I did a factory reset. I didn't install Facebook Group

I uninstalled DU Speed Booster, and the problem seems to be better, but still hangs after unplugging from charger.
Does anyone use DU Speed Booster with Lollipop?

OK, seems like DU Speed Booster may have messed with the system settings of your phone somehow. Are you using the stock firmware that came with your Note 4?

Yes sir, it is the stock rom.. and it's not rooted. Still original except that it has been updated to Lollipop.
Uninstalling DU Speed Booster seems to make it a little better, but occasionally it still freezes and restart but it's not as many times as before.
If the system setting has been messed up, then I will do another hard reset tonight and see if that would fix the issue. I'm tired of waiting for the phone to come alive after idle or when it restarts by itself.
UPDATE 2 :
I did a factory reset last night and left it to sleep while it was updating stock applications (I have not installed any of my application).
This morning when I woke up. I couldn't turn on the phone. It was frozen and it has a solid red LED light on the top left. This happens quite frequently before too. So I'm not sure what the issue is. Btw, my note 4 is the first batch. Bought it when it first came out.
I had to take the battery out and started the update again.
Then it got restarted when I tried to swipe my finger to enter the homepage.
Why doesn't Samsung give an exchange policy? their rival Apple does..
Yeah, I think you need to return your device to Samsung for repairs. As for why Samsung doesn't have a exchange policy, because retailer's tend to have a exchange policy where if they can't fix your device they will replace it with another one. Since retailer's give you a 1 year standard retailer's warranty with the purchase of any electronic device. Apple has a exchange policy, because as well as being a device manufacturer they are also a retailer for their own devices.
My Note 4 has been a lot better since I reseated the SD Card. I did that before too.
I'm starting to think that my SD Card was not reseated properly causing the system to hang / freeze.
As of now, I think the culprit is the SD Card.. I will monitor and update again.

The problem still persists, so it is not the 'reseating' of the SD Card.
I notice though, the problem with hanging, restarting, MOSTLY occurs when the battery is less than 40%. And sometimes, it won't even start / turn on even after I take out the battery. But when it is succeeded, sometimes, it would come out with the message (shown in the attachment). Every time this comes out, I have to take out the battery and wait 30+ seconds before trying again.
I really don't know what is the problem with the phone and this phone is bought overseas. Local Samsung Store can't fix it because they don't have the base band or software.
Please note that this phone has never been dropped / root. I have taken care of it carefully.
I'm really disappointed.
It does seem like a hardware error either with the internal memory chip or the battery. You could try replacing the battery to see if that would fix the problem, I doubt that would work. But I would prefer to just send it back to Samsung for repairs as they have the equipment to fix the problem.
Alternatively you could install Kies 3 from the Samsung website onto your computer and use that to do a firmware reinstall of your Note 4 and see if that helps. If that doesn't work then you really don't have much of a choice other than sending back to Samsung for repairs.

My Note 4 has locked up three times after a full charge.. I noticed a solid RED LED after the phone fully charged and attempts to turn it on are unsuccessful, it's frozen. Nothing I do can wake it up short of removing and replacing the battery. The Lollypop update was done over a month ago so I doubt that is the cause. I'm still checking things out but it has occurred to me that if this happens to the S6, what would one do if you can't remove the battery?????
Thought I would share this here - though I believe this is effecting other Moto models as well.
The Moto app "CQATest" seems to be the culprit with major instability issues I've had since the Android Marshmallow update. Before the update, my phone was so smooth and fast. Then the update came, and I blamed it on Marshmallow. Screen response to anything was very slow. Sometimes completely unresponsive. If i tried to touch a notification in my notification bar, it might be 5-10 seconds later before anything would happen, and the app would open. Sometimes it wouldn't ever open at all. Or when Facebook did open, it might take another 10-15 seconds before it went to the item it had notified me about. The camera in particular was slow to respond - with visible lag whenever trying to take a video - or would just crash. The phone itself got into a fairly normal habit of rebooting itself several times a day. And on startup, sometimes it would take 3-5 minutes before it would finally get to the home screen. Simply unacceptable.
So yesterday I started Googling for answers, and ran across a thread on Android Forums talking about issues people were having with CQATest. I immediately went and found the app in the settings>applications menu, under "All Apps" - force stopped and disabled it, then rebooted.
Guess what? The phone boots normally again! And the general responsiveness and functionality are back to what it was prior to the Marshmallow update. I couldn't be more pleased right now - because I was getting very frustrated with what is a relatively new phone.
I'd be interested if others have experienced something similar? Or are having similar lag issues and try this solution to see if it works for you.
Mods - if this CAN be confirmed, it really should be shared with ALL Moto users who've been upgraded to Marshmallow and have similar issues. The Android Forums thread user was originated by someone on the Moto X for instance.

Do you have any misbehavior since you've disabled CQA Test? Like something doesn't work... Are you getting better battery life? I think you should.
I have Moto X Force, didn't touch app and system is smooth, stable with great battery life. I suppose you have Turbo 2.
No apparent issues with anything else since disabling it that I can see. And yes, I'm on a DT2.

I have had CQA Test disabled before and after Marshmallow and notice no misbehavior. I also have been using advanced calling since i got the phone on launch day and have never had a problem with the call quality as others have.

I just got a refurb Droid Turbo on Marshmallow, and I've had others. I was experiencing some of those same issues that you described.... extremely slow boot and shutdown, and lag on launching apps or other screen clicks.
I just disabled the following and was amazed at the speedy boot time and responsiveness:
CQATest
Amazon (old app.... new one is Amazon Shopping)
Connect
Message+ (verizon sms)
Mobile Hotspot
After that first boot, I re-enabled CQATest and have rebooted several times since. It still seems fast and responsive. I've got a boot time of 35 seconds to the home screen, shutdown time of about 10 seconds.
Just to check, I disabled CQATest again, shutdown and started. The times are the same as above. I was hoping to explore the CQA menu, but haven't been able to so far. I've got USB debugging enabled, but not plugged into a computer. I'll look for answers in other threads.

My DT2 was suffering from slow-downs for a couple weeks, then suddenly had the random shutdown and power-only-on-charge scenario yesterday. I was getting ready to do a factory reset.
On one of the reboots, I had a notification about CQA test. When I acknowledged it, I got notifications that "CQATest wants to access this," and "CQATest wants to access that." I denied them all and started hunting up this app I'd never heard of. That's when I came across this thread. I disabled CQATest, but still had the problem. I then remembered that the "old" Amazon app had just updated. I force-closed it, disabled it, and now the phone is back to normal. I see no need for CQATest, so I'm leaving that disabled, but I firmly believe that the Amazon app was culprit.
EDIT: I may have typed to soon. The phone shut off randomly twice today, requiring connection to a power cord to bring it back to life. It does, however, remain powered up upon disconnection (for now?).:-/ I did not clear the cache after deactivating those apps, though, so we'll see if that does the trick.

Backstory: My DT2 is almost 3 years old. I already had to send it back to Motorola once for a camera issue, but generally I didn't have any major performance issues for the first year and a half or so. Then it started to decline. Namely OS was taking longer to respond, battery life declining. Then when it was about 2 years old it began the random shutdowns. For the last several months I haven't really had the random shutdowns, however, my battery has been pitifully horrible at holding a charge, and it will usually shut down before the battery indicator hits 0%. First it was around 15%, gradually getting worse. Now it often shuts down between 30-40%, especially if I haven't been on battery saver since disconnecting from the charger.
Now today, I ran down my battery within a few hours to about 30% and it shut off, which was not abnormal. However, upon connecting to charger and attempting restart, the battery indicator jumped from 30 up to 40, then down to 4. Got a weird screen before startup that looked like a system error screen and was afraid it was going into factory reset without my prompting it. Pressed the power key once briefly and the phone went into normal startup, but when it turned on, CommServer was stuck in notifications bar and battery indicator was stuck at 3%, similar story to the others in this thread and others.
I disabled the apps suggested by GeckoDad, and so far the phone can operate, but I've had it plugged in for maybe 30 minutes and it's still hanging out at 3%. Was planning to get a new phone soon, but had hoped to wait another month or two... Probably going to head over to Verizon this afternoon to see if they have any suggestions to keep my DT2 alive until I'm able to replace it.
I've had my Note 4 about a year and a half now and it's been in a Otterbox Defender since day one and I've had no issues till now. However starting this week the phone will frequently reboot. Sometimes it's 30 secs after the last reboot, sometimes it's 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it's while using facebook app, sometimes it's using chrome or messaging app.
*I've tried factory reset. Didn't help at all.
*I've tried with and without MicroSD card, no difference.
*It makes no difference whether it's on the charger or off.
So far I'm at my wits end trying to troubleshoot it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Could you download AndroBench and post your results? I have the same problem and I'm trying to get to the root cause. Currently I suspect it's actual hardware deterioration of the NAND/memory chip.
In the meantime, a less than ideal solution is to download the "Wake Lock" app and enabling partial wake lock. This usually fixes the random reboots but reduces battery life.
The Device I Speak Of Is A Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 AT&T (SM-T337A) As You Can Guess By Reading The Title, It Restarts After A Few Minutes. The Exact Time Varies, Was The Device Just Turned On? Has It Been On? It Happened Because I TRIED To Root, I AM NOT Rooted Still, Which Only Made Me Even More Fustrated. But, It's Happened Before, But I Fixed It By Deleting Kinguser From The File System, But The Damage Was Done. It, Unfortunately, Still Ran Slow Afterwards, But Got Better Over Time, But I Digress, I Thought That Since I Wasn't Using Kingroot It Wouldn't Happen Again, I Was Dead Wrong. Now It Runs Slow And Restarts After A Few Minutes While Using It. When I Try To Open Some Apps (Mainly Games) It Closes Before It Even Loads Fully. Another Thing I Noticed, I Turned On 'Show CPU Usage' And In The Area Where The Usage Data Is It Shows "sh" In Green. A Lot Of Them Too. I Think It's Part Of The Problem. Well, That's All For Now. Any New Info I Get I Will Post Here. I Hope Somebody Can Help.
This is an ongoing, intermittent and devastating problem I have. My phone will be working perfectly fine, then all of a sudden it will randomly reboot. Then it will work for a few minutes or hours, then randomly reboot again. Then for a shorter time and reboot again until the phone basically can't even get through the bootup process without rebooting. It will be essentially bricked for anywhere from 1/2 a day to nearly a week (though it usually manages to get to working for 15 minutes at a time for most of the week. Then, all of a sudden and for no reason I can tell, it will just start working fine again for anywhere from several days to a month. This has been going on for at least 6 months.
It reboots during any manner of activities with the most common being phone calls, texting (I usually use Handcent Next SMS), anything with the keyboard (stock), browsing, swiping on the home screen, etc.. Really anything causes it, including it just sleeping with the screen off. The same problem occurs when in Safe mode, with or without the SD card (using as just extra storage, not phone memory), and with or without the SIM. It doesn't matter if it's plugged in or not. I have noticed what seems to be a greater tendency for rebooting to occur when the battery is low.
I am on T-Mobile (if that matters in any way for OTAs and such) and running the stock ROM without root. I'm about to try a factory reset but that has not been a permanent solution in the past.
so I just did the factory reset and it rebooted during the initial phone info setup (select your language, etc.)... I think it's toast... Does anyone know if this is the sort of thing that can be repaired for <$100 or should I just buy a new phone from ebay?
