S7 Edge Overheating and Touch sensitivity - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi guys, i have a S7E G935F Exynos all stock on 7.0 Nougat.
The other night i left phone on my pillow and had my heated blanket on. Phone had slided into my bed overnight and got quite hot, when i took it out in the morning.
It had a notification saying, device overheated and have to close some apps. I then turned it off, took it out case and let it cool.
However now im getting very bad touch sensivity issues especially near the notification pannel side of the phone, with random ghost touches. I do have a screen protector on but that was even before the problem occured and didnt affect sensivity.
I tried updating the touch screen firmware within dialer app with *#2663# but that did not cure the problem.
Was wondering if there any fixes? Or would i need to send it back to Samsung?

hero touch screen unresponsive

hey guys, i have started experiencing weird issue with my hero since last week (bought it last december). the sense ui behaves weirdly and when moving across scenes its getting unpredictable with the touch response. if i go back to my home screen, it still feels am trying to oscillate between multiple screens.
on top of it, using smart dial has become a pain with its unpredictable behavior.
Though factory reset would help but now the touch is unresponsive that i couldnt sign in to my google account as keypad doesnt recognise my entry.
any one experiencing this issue? on top of not getting androind 2.1 this has been a real bad week.
any help is much appreciated.
cheers.
Go into the recovery menu and do whatever thar? I'm not sure this will help as capacitive screens seem quite failsafe, contact orange/insurance

Yeah I have the same problem, and factory reset doesn't help...
I'm gonna go to the Sprint store, and you should contact your carrier support. This problem is caused by device overheating, which damages the inner LCD screen. This screen makes the outer glass or reinforced plastic screen responsive.
It's free to fix with insurance, and $100 without. Of course, there is the chance that your carrier could be nice to you and replace it for free...
similar problems on my end too! gonna go to sprint soon
I have had this problem with my HTC hero on T-Mobile here in the UK earlier this year. Took the phone back to T-Mobile and they sent it off to HTC. After almost a month without my HTC I started to get annoyed. Eventually I got the phone back and was told that the main circuit board had been replaced.
The phone's been ok for about three months and now it's started again but appears that it's only the bottom part of the screen thats affected, where the three touch screen buttons are.
The phones going back again today but interestingly I worked out that it only seems to do it when the phone has been in my pocket and has got warm. The effect is that I can't press the touchscreen 'Phone' button or any of the buttons at either side of it but if i press any of the icons above them the phone button will be activated. (wierd!).
Now here's the thing, if I leave the phone on a flat surface in a cool air flow for a few minutes then everything goes back to normal. Which leads me to think that the problem is temperature related.
Regards
Quite strange, mine has started doing that too. Only when its warm though... Lol.
HTC has confermed to me that many Hero's have a bad touchscreen.
They will repair free under waranty.

[Q] Desire HD - Random screen behaviour

Has anyone else found that occasionally the screen starts going mad? I will unlock the phone and suddenly it starts going into various menu options, brings up a browser or brings up widget settings. It's as if there is an invisible finger using the screen, although it's so fast it's as if there is a buffer of actions.
I'm not sure what causes it, but a colleague has a Samsung Galaxy and reckons he gets it when moisture gets on the screen. My screen has never been wet or near anything wet.
Additionally, I've noticed it was happening just now when I was charging the phone via USB. When I unplugged it the behaviour stopped.
Anyone else?
Yao
Never had that before , maybe a application you installed that is acting wierd?
I had a application installed that just drained my batt like hell.
I also reboot the phone after heavy duty, meaning using the explorer , games, ....
me too!
I'm getting the same problem at the moment. It takes me about 5 attempts to unlock the screen. Once I'm in, sometimes it responds to my touch, sometimes it doesn't, other times it just does random stuff. It's making the phone totally unusable .
I got the phone on Monday (3 days ago) this is the first time it happened. I'm sat in a cafe atm and it's quite humid in here; if it's a problem with moisture could the humidity explain it?
I once had a similar problem with an ipod touch after it had been in a bag with a leaking water bottle. It went OK by itself after a few hours.
Anybody else got any thoughts?
Thanks
Damian.
The thing that I had to get used to was gripping the phone properly. The lower right quarter of my right hand is a bit chubby, so when I gripped the phone my palm ended up wrapping around the phone and resting on the screen somewhat. This would result in the screen not always unlocking right, sometimes selecting widgets and icons on my homescreen, restricting scrolling in the browser and random text entry.
Since I've altered my grip I don't get those problems any more.
My tattoo does this all the time....
Looks like exposing the phone to extreme conditions like heat or humidity makes this...
I used to keep my phone next to my Burning furnace i7 HP laptop and there is an LCD leak now on the screen :-(...since i noticed the leak, the phone started behaving more cranky....
update ...
Just to give an update, my phone is OK again now. By the time I got home a few hours later it had sorted itself out.
It's a HTC Desire HD, btw.
Damian
I had the same problem when I used a non-HTC charger.
Same problem here happens when charging with the original charger, when tyring another HTC charger with the same model number the problem is gone.
My guess is the charger that came with the phone is defective.
A workaround: I'm using a case for my DHD, when this problem happens I can get the screen to act normal by keeping the phones body (metal part) in direct contact with my hand.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Overheated and now Pixel error

Hello togehter,
i have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I used it normaly was just on the internet as a green line appiered on the screen on the right side very close to the edge. It goes all the way up and down. I also noticed that my phone overheated heavy as this happened so i tured it off. After a moment i turned it on again but the problem is still there. There is still this small green line and the phone still gets hot. Now it is also rather hot today outside is there anything i could do to try to fix it?
Not sure what your green line looks like but this may prove helpful:

You'll have to RMA your phone. It's a hardware problem for sure. I had the same thing where the top portion of the phone heats up and eats battery like crazy whenever the screen is on. It would do this even in recovery mode.....which is the true test to see if it is your Android build or any software installed causing issues....at least with the heat anyway. The more it heated up, the more the lines appeared until the screen would either cut out for a moment or I'd get the over temp warning....even when not charging.
I agree with xmind2006, you should RMA it. I would not keep a device that heats up like that around. It could lead to most drastic device failures that you tend to read in the news.
I turned it on one more time yesterday and the screen went completly crazy directly. Going on and off, making random colors and so on. Im gonna bring it on Monday to the O2 Shop... Is this a common issue? Do you guys think i could ask them to get a fully new one directly? I dont want to wait weeks for them to repair... specially as i made my sim card smaller so it doesnt match my old phone anymore :X

Galaxy S7 Edge strange behavior, Random touch input

Hello folks,
I've googled a lot but maybe I used the wrong terms or it's a rare problem. But my phone has a small annoying bug. The bug I'm facing was always there but after the latest update it occurs much more.
Most of the time it happens when you unlock the phone and start typing. In the video below you can see the problem.
Sometimes the recent apps and back button refuse to work while this happens. Not always.
Is there anyone else that suffers from this strange behabior?
I allready tried to remove the TPU case but that didn't solved the problem.

the solution is simple, just make sure ur fingers aren't wet!
Over a period of time (if you looked at your phone at an angle with the light reflecting off) the Gorilla Glass the phone needs to be wiped down, preferably with a micro-cloth (the same type you use on glasses). The oils on your hand, combined with sweat/water, can do freaky things with the touchscreen.
I have been using a stylus most of the time to type and interact with my S7E phone. Not only that I like it better I find it with my big fingers I am more accurate when I am typing and interacting with the phone.
But do not forget this S7E is completely covered with Gorilla Glass and needs to be cleaned like all other types of glass does...good luck.
Cheers!

The exact same thing is happening in my case (atleast has become more pronounced since the latest update), the recent apps & back button become unresponsive after you unlock the phone and there are random ghost touches. The problem seems to normalise after you lock & unlock the phone using the power button. Any insight on the same would be helpful.
I cleaned the phone multiple times. Actually I clean it every day.
As arun.subrm says. It goes away when you lock and unlock the phone.
Very strange. Actually it gets worse after every update. Today it happened over 3 times in 4 hours. Rediculous and very annoying. It makes it an unreliable product this way. You don't know when it will happen.
Still waiting for that moment when I accidentally buy a living room couch on ebay or something xD.

Ghost touches while charging.

There is a huge thread running for the same in Lenovo forums https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G...ging-issue-quot-ghost-touch-quot/td-p/3337242
However, all the moderators say that the only possible solution is to take my phone to a service centre. For now, I cannot go to the service centre till next year's July because of some reasons, and also I cant't wait to root my phone too. I just want to know if it is a software related issue or hardware's.
Try another charger and cable. A badly filtered power supply can induct some transient spikes in the data lines.

I get that only on a non stock charger. When I use the stock charger it fine.
If it's still under warranty it can be sent in for repair. The ghost touch is a known issue when charging. Just turn the screen off and back on and it usual fixes it.

Same problem...it's some software issue. Only occurs when charging and if you lock and unlock the screen again, it's back to normal. Very probably a software issue; same as the random reboots, that are related to the time zone (yeah, I know)...
Cheers.
Ghost touch when warm.
Ghost touch seems to happen when my phone gets a little warm on charger or off. Sometimes turning the screen off helps other times the problem persists. I have two G4 purchased at the same time, ghost touch on both. Ghost touch allways generally in the same area on one phone and on the opposite side of the screen on the second phone. If the Nougat update does not fix this problem, which I have my doubts, I will be sending mine in for repair.
