I am having issues with my bluetooth after rooting using this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-s7-edge/how-to/sm-g935p-spr-root-nougat-7-0-data-t3568780
The bluetooth will not turn on. I tried force stopping the
App and clreaing out the caches. My phone is the sprint galaxy s7 edge running stock rooted android 7.0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank everybody who helps in advance....
You're going to have to just start over. If one step is missed in this method, it could jeopardize the whole outcome.

I cannot enable wifi since I updated to 4.3 today. I've tried everything I know and wifi will not toggle on.
I am so frustrated!
I was rooted before the update and lost root afterwards FYI for anyone who has root using 4.2.2
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I did see a message saying something about it not finding something on my SD card but not sure if the message (that flashed briefly) had anything to do with this issue or not.
Restarting the phone doesn't help.
My S4 is useless to me without wifi.
I have done a factory data reset and wiped all data. Still having the same issue.

I know this doesn't help you, but it may help others.....
Don't EVER take an OTA while rooted. Jeez, I thought that was the cardinal rule when deciding to root ones phone.....

People just assume they will fine. This guy/girl, I'm sure wasn't that patient and flashed the zip. The main thread for the update shows that members have been having problems with WiFi while flashing the update zip on stock rooted.

I'm familiar with rooting somewhat and figured for sure I'd lose root. I didn't know about the wifi issues though. I'm really not a dumb butt (and I'm not suggesting that's what you're saying exactly), it's just that after searching and searching for a primary thread and not finding one on the issue, I went ahead and did the update being fine with potentially losing root temporarily till another root option came out.
I feel like a dumb butt because I still cannot find the thread that you're talking about. Maybe I'm just overwhelmed. I have no idea why but my continued searches are still turning out fruitless for finding any info on wifi troubles at all except for people in Germany on different carriers.
Will someone kindly point me in the right direction for the thread you're referring to and in the right direction as to how I can flash my phone back to stock/unrooted?
I was just excited to get this update and have never ran into issues like this before with updating OTA on other devices, except for losing root.
I really do appreciate any help and I'm sorry for having a putz moment.
Garry.

If you already updated to mja update, you went to the path of no return; well for awhile. You can odin or anything or go back to other firmware. Its like apple's ios firmwares now. Being stuck when you upgrade and cant downgrade sucks really.

Hey everyone.
Thanks for keeping such a great information forum. I had a evo a few years ago and everyone was a lot of help with rooting.
So I just get this s4. And I really don't want to pay for hot spotting. Would love to gain access to this. Anyone know how without rooting?
I've been looking into it for ago couple days now. Then I read about the Knox count. Really Don't want to lose my warranty really if I want I can go get another phone with sprints lease system if need but still.
Anyway. Are there any ways of getting that hot spot or teathr ability.
Are there any roots for the 4.3. I tried doing a autoloader and it failed.
No PIT partition it said. I still can't find out how to fix that or if I really should. Like I said. I'm glad now it didn't go tthru and ruin the Knox.
Any help links tips anything. Good things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.
Even if it takes me going anything nd getting a new phone again. Maybe the note 3? Can you root them for wife easier?
Thanks in advance
With this version of Pda Net (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxfi2) you should be able to do USB tethering and BT tethering without root. It will not do Wifi tethering, AFAIK, because of something in the stock rom.
As mentioned you can try PDA.net I've owned that for years but haven't had to use it on any of my recent Android devices yet. I root and use hotspod mods.
Read here to root without problems.
Then got to crawrj's thread and grab the hotspot mod. (If you are on stock choose the Odex version).
Since you're coming back to the forums I'm sure it would help you greatly if you spend some time and read through the how-to's and stickies.
Good luck.
Thanks guys. I have been trying to read thru every chance I get. Look forward to getting back in the loop.
Hi everyone!
I'm new so bear with me, please.
I have an AT&T S4 that had been unlocked even though I use it on AT&T. I rooted my device specifically to remove bloatware that came with it. Which I did. Eventually though I grew wary and decided I wanted to take everything back to stock like it was when I first got the phone. Didn't have any luck. After some research on here I found that I needed to flash it to NB1 using Odin and that's what I did. The phone booted fine, setup fine and even began updating apps. My problem is that it won't let me update to NJ4 again. The Software updater claims that there is no updates available when I know clearly there is. I'm not sure what I may have done wrong but I could use any help that anyone is willing to provide.
P.S. I rooted using Towelroot v3 following this method in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/how-to-root-i337ucufnj4-4-4-4-11-13-2014-t2939553/post56738573#post56738573
Thanks in advance!
Troubleshooting section of first post of the thread you linked has steps to manually update to NJ4
i followed the guide mentioned .. I had to sideload the update as OTA was not detected by the phone
Now everything is working like a charm
OP, try this and all will be good
Solved
Thanks for the replies everyone, some very helpful information. Ironically, it seemed to have fixed itself this morning. I put it in it's usual place on the nightstand and when I awoke this morning, the notification was there and it successfully updated to 4.4.4 and everything seems to be going smoothly.
Thanks again for the quick replies. Should I ever need additional assistance I now know what forum I can turn to.
My s5 has continually gotten slower and slower. I would like to do root and install the fastest, cleanest least bloat and most stable Rom possible to speed it up again. I've. Never done this before on an s5 so am asking for advice and help. I am on the Verizon network and use my phone for business so I really do not want to lose any data on my sd card thanks appreciate all the help!
Bump anyone appreciate the help

K thanks this is q & a forum! Help appreciated or you tube guide
Ok...so you say it's a business device......does that mean it connects to a secure (enterprise) business nerwork? If it does, then root is NOT for your device. The network will discover root access and prevent connection.

It is now your thread was moved
No keith it does not connect to a business or enterprise network. I use it for work mostly meaning: internet surfing, email, and taking pictures for work related projects. I own my own business. As I said above I like the S5 but it seems to be getting slower with all these new updates & Ive read by rooting & installing a ROM you can debloat it & speed up the phone. Appreciate the responses.
You can root and debloat without flashing a custom rom, I assume your device is running lollipop? That being the case, you can use CF Root or TWRP / SuperSU combo to gain root, then use Titanium Backup to debloat.....
Here's a 'step by step' for the TWRP root method........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64961009
Edit....just seen that you are with Verizon....that complicates things as they lock their bootloaders.....AFAIK, root methods for Verizon devices running lollipop don't exist.....although don't quote me on that....I've not had to deal with Verizon devices, so I haven't researched them.....

So that means there is no way to root or install a faster custom Rom with Verizon? I'd anyone else can chime in I would appreciate it.

Depending on your lollipop version, yes. Go check the Verizon s5 section.

Has anyone gotten Wi-Fi calling working on rooted g930p either with stock rooted rom or flashed to g930u rom? It's the only thing stopping me from rooting at this point.
Thanks,
Josh

yes, wifi calling has been achieved while even being rooted. check out this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s7/how-to/sm-g930p-root-t3410604 and read all the instructions carefully and completely. (don't skip a word)
I've read every page of that thread. I've also used fixes for speed, battery, lag etc. I haven't gotten wifi calling to work on any rooted sprint s7. Aware of "hidden" menu under phone settings rather than main settings.
Looking for someone to confirm they have it working on their phone before jumping back to rooted rom again as well as guidance on how to achieve.
Thanks
