Any ideas?
The phone is:
Xperia Z3
Brand: sony
Model: d6616
Android Version: 5.0.2 (23.1.c.0.399)
kernel version: 3.4.0-perf-g47adf36
I already tried this unsuccessfully.
Debloater also can't detect the phone.
I installed PC companion and Z3 drivers directly from Sony's official website.
I also installed Flashtool drivers, no detection...
I got the Debloater to work but it did nothing, just hid the notifications..
I need to root the phone.

Could you please tell how did you make it? I have SGP511 with currently installed stock 17.1.A.2.36 but no matter what I try with PC Companion it downloads me 17.1.1.A.0.402 files even in repair mode
I downloaded the firmware before the .402 was available for me. That's all.

Lucky you. I've bought Z2 couple of days ago, so .402 was already rolled out on the Sony servers.
Well.., will look for alternative approaches how to dump my stock .36 version.

The reason why is because the update hasn't been rolled out in your country yet. When a update is don't it takes a couple of weeks or even months to be worldwide

Did you install the drivers that come with flash tool? there's a drivers folder inside the flash tool and there is the installation file for the drivers... install the flash mode drivers, the fastboot drivers and the Z2 tablet drivers

The drivers are within the flash tool zip, extract the package and inside you will find a drivers subfolder
I flashed to this .ftf from 23.0.1.A.4.30 and my device will not turn on. Nor will it give vibration feedback when attempting to turn on. I tried volume down/power button. I tried the little red button next to sim card slot. Not sure what to do at this point...
I guess it decided to turn on... nevermind
Hello, does anyone have a link to the ftf for SGP512 (UK region). My tablet is running 4.4.4 and I want to downgrade to 4.4.2 so I can root
EDIT, does not matter, just used the Nordic firmware to downgrade, rooted, then upgraded with modified UK firmware that was pre-rooted
Here's what we've been waiting for a while
download and try it and post here
http://xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware/83-sony-xperia-z3-d6653
You should upgrade from support.sonymobile.com/au/xperiaz3/userguide/Updating-your-phone
Currently, only upgrading using a computer is supported
- First, Install PC Companion application (if you not)
- Connect device to computer
- Follow instructions, next, next and try lolipop
please use the FTF collection thread to Share FTF's

The Sony Xperia Z1 is a high-end Android smartphone produced by Sony. The Z1, at that point known by the project code name "Honami", was unveiled during a press conference in IFA 2013 on 4 September 2013. The phone was released in China on 15 September 2013, in the UK on 20 September 2013, and entered more markets in October 2013. Hi all!
I'm happy to say that, thanks to iovyroot, and with a lot of help from zxz0O0, we managed to create a new root tool for the Xperia M2, EagleRootTool, meaning we don't actually need to use Kingroot anymore to root LBL devices under latest Lollipop firmware :victory:
However, since this root binary is compatible with (probably) any kernel built before December 2015, I thought of making the tool compatible with some other devices, like your Z1, since it's actually very similar to my device.
Unfortunately, since this tool's based on some kernel-specific addresses, to make it compatible with other devices like the Z1, I need them from every single variant.
I'm going to take for reference all models and firmware build numbers from XperiFirm.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- An already rooted device in 14.6.A.1.236 (it doesn't matter if it was rooted by Kingroot, or via UBL methods).
- A little of Android general knowledge: Usage of ADB (mainly).
- Patience.
DEVICES:
- C6902
- C6903 ✓
- C6906
- C6943
HOW TO DO IT?:
Just open an ADB prompt and run a shell in it. Then, run the following commands, replacing the *location with storage/sdcard1 if you want to use your SD Card, or with data/media/0 if you want to use the internal memory.
Code:
su
cat /proc/version > /[COLOR="Purple"]*[/COLOR][COLOR="red"]location[/COLOR]/version.txt
echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/kptr_restrict
cat /proc/kallsyms > /[COLOR="Purple"]*[/COLOR][COLOR="red"]location[/COLOR]/kallsyms.txt
(remember to hit enter after each line of the above :silly
Now upload those two files (version.txt & kallsyms.txt) wherever you want, or attach them in your comment, saying which model they're from, and I'll add the required offsets to support your device manually!

I just want to help this device users to get them supported in a common Lollipop Xperia rooting toolkit, since this device won't get Marshmallow, and has a compatible kernel.
