Shield 2017 - Netflix 4k High pitch buzzing/tone issue - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have 2017 Shield when you pause or back out of a 4k show/movie your watching to the menu it will play a loud high pitch buzzing sound/tone.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
P.S. I do not get this issue with amazon 4k playback only with Netflix with 4k shows does not happen with 1080p.

I'm having same issue, very loud high pitched noise. Just got a 4k TV. Never had this issue with 1080p TV. Very annoying!

4k Video Performance on a NAS?

Hi everyone,
I'm considering the Shield as my streaming box from my NAS. Does anyone have experience with it's 4k video capability? How does it handle it and in what player?
I have played 4k videos (on a 1080p screen, but the videos were 4k) on my shield with Kodi, and it played wonderfully. Just make sure your network has enough speed to handle 4k videos, and you should be fine. I recommend a wired notwork of course. I was able to play them over USB2 with no problems.
Edit: Screenshot added. Big Buck Bunny is always used to test performance, so I thought, why not. 8K was too much for this device understandably, though it should be able to handle more than 4k. Haven't tested 3d or anything of that like as I tend to watch insanely high bitrate anime in 10 bit color which is software decode, and plays fine. (24mbp/s will play fine even x264 hi10p).

Youtube issue

I can't play video on HD on my axon 7 using the youtube app only max 480p. Anyone whit the same problem?
Edit: after some test i've discovered that using youtube app i can't watch video on 720p60 neither 1080p60 but only "standard" HD video. Is that normal?
Nope I don't have that issue
I noticed that too. It was there before. Now it's gone.

I found out the problem. The latest YouTube update screwed up the video quality options. HTC M10 users are having the same problem.
Not got that issue, got the sound sync issue though.
This is a YouTube issue. I looked up other devices that had this issue and it turns out that the Samsung Galaxy S7 had the problem just after launch. It took two months to fix it.
Looks like the video quality issue is a YouTube problem. I used Dailymotion and I can change between 720p60fps and 1080p60fps.
I have this issue. It's really annoying. The image freezes and the audio carries on. Only happens with hd content.
Is this still affecting anyone else?
I have had my ZTE Axon 7 for 10 days and experiencing the same problem. The visuals on YouTube videos are stuttering or freezing completely when playing 4K videos at 1440p at 30fps or 60fps. I have also experienced it on 1080p 60fps. This causes the audio to fall out of sync. I have compared it to my Samsung Note 4 and S7 Edge and have no problem playing same video. I have even factory reset phone to no avail. Emailed Gearbest (supplier) and ZTE (No help) and offered me an exchange or refund but have no stock. Really like the phone so don't want a refund on something for an problem I believe can be fixed as seems like a software issue. Great Value phone!

A7 Video applications performance:
Decode 60fps 1080p HEVC/H.264/VP8/VC1/MP4
Encode 30fps 1080p H.264/VP8/MP4 30fps 480p H.263
WFD (Miracast) 1080p30 decode + 1080p30 encode
what's the vedeo format you play with? thanks~

Hi. I'm trying to record my gameplay and or stream to twitch via built in tools on shield TV 2015 with shield software 5.1, stock no root. Everytime I watch a recorded video or check twitch I have no in game audio. I can hear the shield controller mic though.

It produced a very messy noisy crippy sound on a concert recorded. The video absolutely stunning with 4k mode. 1.4gb in size for 4 minutes recording..But the audio is @+#[email protected]°[email protected]#[email protected]+...cant hear anything, its really crippy..

YouTube lagging in HD

So my Nexus 6p is running root through magisk with latest stock updates. I recently modified the build.prop vendor from Nexus 6p to Pixel XL because I couldn't get Facebook videos to play in anything higher than 140p quality. I have recently noticed this re-enabled 1440p quality for me in youtube. I have also noticed that when video quality was set to auto and it went to 720p or higher, the video would slow down to about half speed, but the sound would continue at normal speed. However, if I played videos at 480p the video and sound match and I have no issues. Changing build.prop back to Nexus 6p, I lose 1440p quality and YouTube videos seem to play normally at 720p and higher. I am using a wifi connection when this happens and bandwidth does not have any role in this issue. I have tried multiple different wifi networks. Anyone know why this is happening?
EDIT:
Now that I've changed the build.prop back to stock, Facebook video quality plays at a max resolution of 140p.
