Unlock dongles - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

I seen a bunch of unlocking services on ebay and so forth. Can an individual purchase an unlocking unit to unlock phones? Or do you need a license or something? Anyone know what kind of device i would need?

Its called the z3x box. You can purchase it here in this link.

That is one of the various boxes. I own a repair store and have been thinking about buying one of the unlocking boxes. I am thinking about buying the octoplus box. Is there a best box or it depends on the phones you are working with? Can anyone help?

HTC Repaired my g1 and gave me a new IMEI

Hi,
For no reason whatsoever my t mobile g1 turned off and would not come back on. It also would not take a charge. I was getting no response from anything on it. I sent it into HTC's warranty service for them to fix it. They fixed it and mailed it back. I'm not sure how they fixed it but now my phone is not sim unlocked and I cannot use it with AT&T. I noticed that the IMEI number is now changed on the phone. I went to http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com/EN/unlocking-Google+Phone.php so that I could get an unlock code for my phone. I sent them my new IMEI number and they claimed that the code was unavailable at the time. I had just received the phone in the mail after it was fixed when I submitted to the website to get my unlock code. I am not sure whether or not I will be able to get the code for my phone. Does anybody have any idea why the website didn't work? And why did they relock my phone when i sent it in?

They probably replaced the mainboard or sent you a refurbished unit. That would have the effect of giving you a new IMEI. Obviously the phone would also be locked again, as a new mainboard would essentially be the same thing as having a different phone.
What about http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com/EN/unlocking-Google+Phone.php not being able to retrieve my unlock code? Do you think that this might be temporary or could the new board not have a listed unlock code?
HTC will have the unlock code since they manufactured the device. You should communicate with them -- explain that it was unlocked when you sent it in and that what you got back was locked. They shouldn't have a problem helping you out here. Escalate if the first numbnuts you speak to won't do it. You definitely shouldn't have to pay for this and you shouldn't have to go to a 3rd party for it.

I have a similar problem. I am seriously hoping HTC will unlock it for me... Fingers crossed!
The same thing happened to me and I called HTC and they emailed me an unlock code within a couple days...
Hello Everyone,
For those who got the htc replacement units, what did they give you back besides the phone? Also when you guys first gave them you units, how long had it been since you guys purchases your phones? Cause i'm not sure how old mine is. Would you guys mind posting pics of the replacement device they gave on with the home screen? Please let me know.
Thank You

G1 Unlock service?

Hi sorry if its already been coverd [and im sure it has] I couldnt find a thread covering it.
Does anyone know if XDA Dev has a unlock service for the G1? I know they do for the winmob phones but what about this one?
I have a friend whos brought a G1 off ebay but its locked. And Tmobile wont give him an unlock code for it.
If you can point me in the right direction so i can help him out.
If Xda Dev doesnt have one does anyone know a trustworthy place that does?
Thanks
Nutsy
There is a site on ebay that does it for something like 12 bucks. With paypal its trust worthy.
I could do with a little more info than just... Theres a site on ebay.
But isnt there one here? Like there is for most of the HTC winmob phones?

He gave you a clear cut answer. Go to ebay and type something like "unlock G1". Or google for some unlock services. There is no generator or anything of that nature out yet.

And i wouldnt trust an Ebay shop with that. Just like i wouldnt trust many of the hundreds of so called unlocking sites youll find on google.
I was hoping to find a very trusted shop that everyone here knows works. Or a serivce provided by XDA Dev just like there is in the diamond and touch pro forums...

Unlocking a phone runs off a simple but expensive algorithmic code per your imei number. You have 5 or 6 chances to unlock before the phone locks for good. If someones rating on ebay is a 99% with many transactions sold they can be trusted. It is quick and inexpensive. If they cant get your code you dont get charged abd they tell you why they could not obtain the code. LOTS OF PEOPLE DO IT EVERY DAY.

Its not my phone its a friends. And im tryign to help him so i dont want to tel him to go to Ebay and end up getting duff codes.
All im asking for is a service that everyone here knows and trusts. [ok not everyone but teh majority]
Like for instance I would trust the guys who have the sticky in the touchpro forums for there unlockign service.
I really did exspect there to be a simuler thing here for the g1.
I worked for the largest cell phone repair center in Idaho. If it was an old Nokia or Moto we had a machine to unlock if it was anything else this is what we did.
1. Take customers phone in back.
2. Get on ebay and find the cheapest and most reliable vendor.
3. Double the cost of the code and tell customer.
4. Write repair ticket and inform the cust we will have it unlocked in 24 hour.
5. Order code
6. Recieve code from ebay vendor and unlock the phone.
7. Charge the customer anywhere from 25-75 bucks.
8. Laugh my @$$ off after the customer left!

As already stated, no it can't be unlocked and it's most likely a stolen phone
Check the IMEI here http://imeipro.info/
Does the phone asks for a code or does it prompt any message on the display?

Got same issue. Not been able to buy a new one went for second hand and after the check look like the phone is blacklisted. I cannot afford to lose £350.
There should be a way to make it working. If cannot be said . can someone with good hearth send a link or point to some other forum where this is explained.
On youtube people charge a fortune to make it working. So someone knows how to do it
Thanks for your understanding

We do not discuss imei changing or blacklist repair. It is either a stolen phone. Or it was blacklisted due to non payment. I would take the sales receipt you got to a police station and file charges on the seller for selling property he wasn't allowed to sell

Full OEM Unlock. Custom ROMs, Root, & More. (Exchange models with Pixel Warranty)

Mod edit
what makes you think that they dont just scan a barcode? has this method worked for you or anyone else?
Why would you need to edit out the Verizon part? It's still under manufacturer warranty. Or is this so we don't get a locked bootloader Verizon replacement?

It's to get a non-Verizon model. That means no locked bootloader.
Not going to work. The unlocked variants actually came from verizon, not google.

I just did an insurance claim and they sent me an unlocked variant.. didn't send me the same color phone I originally had.. but needless to say the OEM unlock isn't greyed out
had you edited the packing slip prior to you sending the device in for replacement?
I only ask because there is 2 bar-codes on the packing slip. One with the RMA #. The other for device make/mode/ type.
Why wouldn't they just scan the bar-codes?

I didn't do anything.. just called and made the insurance claim.. they sent me a different phone before I sent them my phone
Consider yourself lucky then I have been through 5 replacements two from Verizon and three from Google. The Google replacements always came locked. The Verizon one was unlocked. Literally one month ago I got a replacement from Google completely locked.

Worked for me, just got a new one again. The email they send will say "Your Verizon pixel 2 has shipped"
OP tells you to scratch barcode --- doesnt scratch barcode ..hmm
Mods should remove due to OP telling people to break their phones and make false warranty claims.

New unopened s10+ with blocked knox lock?

Hi! There is brand New s10+ for sale. It has description that is blocked by knox lock. What does it mean, it is unopened box. Can I unlock it?
It was previously rooted but once it's rooted Samsung pay, health and secure folder won't work ever again as Knox has been tripped
Even when box is not opened?

Don't be duped, if it's is locked it was unboxed and played with, whatever that guy is saying , he fooked it up and now he is trying to find someone to unload it on.
IMHO pass on that sale.
