Hulu regional issue on v5.02 - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm in France and I have a Hulu subscription (DNS settings on the router).
It was working great until the V5.02 update, that's when I started seeing the regional error message.
Any idea what should I do to get it working again?
Knowing that 'location service' has always been off, and I rebooted the device many times.
Thanks,

Poll: Wifi Calling Error, Is yours working?

My wifi calling was working perfectly fine until just a couple days ago. All of a sudden it will not connect to the same network it had been working on, I'm on a stock Tmobile G2, no root or anything. After googling around and searching these forums I've seen its a pretty widespread issue and is even occuring on the myTouch 4g. This leads me to believe its something on Tmobile's network as I don't think all of a sudden our various ISPs started blocking something that wasn't blocked before.
I'm getting the message W006.25 ISP network error, and occasionally I've got W006.15 ISP network error. Sometimes, but less often, i will get the message to register on Tmobile's network for the wifi calling. When I hit register, the app closes and if I try to open it again it will close automatically in about 2 seconds.
I've tried clearing my wifi calling app data then doing a power off and battery pull, I've uninstalled all apps/widgets that I added around the time it stopped working (nearly back to stock). No one has found a solution or even really the source of this problem. People have even tried a factory reset with no luck. Oh yea, also tried all the different wifi sleep settings and wifi calling connection preferences.
So... respond to the poll and post your details; ROM, ISP, location, time frame of working / not-working, etc...
ROM: Stock Tmobile G2
ISP: AT&T DSL (I'm pretty sure, renting a house at college right now though)
Location: Orlando, FL
Time Frame: working from about 12/23/2010 until 1/20/2011

Mine is working:
ROM: Stock ROM
ISP: RCN Cable
Location: Lehigh Valley, PA
Time Frames: Working constantly - no issues anytime in this area (only place I use it, and don't even need it)
FYI: I will give you a heads up, I work for said company above and there has been some known issues with Wifi Calling with that specific error you mentioned. It could be a location based issue in your area or there could be a global issue affections subscribers based on their connection type/SIM type/ETC...
If it continues, I'd call and ask them to check your area for a 7 to 10 mile radius for issues and also have them check on that error.
I've had that issue before, when i forgot to remove my static IP i had set for my work's wifi. It basically means it can't get to the server. its either a problem on your phone (a static IP that doesn't have access to the outside world) or the connection is being blocked enroute to their servers. make sure you don't have any special DNS settings or anything that could interfere.

Yea but I never set a static ip address nor have I changed any router settings

I was able to login to the router and change the DNS settings as recommended in the tmobile support forums, still no luck. The router didn't have any option to allow fragmented packets which seemed like it had better success as far as fixing it for others. I don't think ill have much luck with calling the ISP since I'm renting the house for college. Maybe try hooking up my own router in place of the provided one?

Only problem that I have ever had is in a hospital with a pretty locked down network. Everywhere else has been flawless. If you have issues, use locked down dhcp on your home network with ports 500 and 4500 open.

yes mine is still working fine and im running ginger villian 1.5
Wifi calling and texting works for me. However, one thing i do notice is that text messages that exceed 1 text (160 chars) fail to send. Has anyone else noticed that or is it just me? When i find the time i plan on restoring my stock ROM to verify if the problem persists.
ROM: virtuous 9.0
ISP: Road Runner
Location: San Antonio, TX
It errors out for me once in a while but if I clear data on the wifi app and reboot the phone it works fine. Doesn't matter if I use enom, virtuous, or stock.

Wifi calling stops working?

So I'm traveling in Europe and have been using a mifi 2352 with a rented sim on my trip. Had no problems connecting my g2 via wifi and making calls back to the states but for some reason it has stopped working and I can't figure out what a solution is. I'm running cyanogen's 7.0 RC2
The tmobile wifi app is stuck "enabling" wifi calling and I've gotten errors like W009.2 "Unable to connect failed location update" and W005.5 "tmobile network error retry."
I didn't change any settings or my setup so not sure what caused this. Any help? I've seen this problem referenced on other forums but have not seen anyone with a definitive solution.

+1 any solutions?? Used to work normally and now its doing the same thing as the user above. Any help?
did either of you all happen to change the stock LCD density away from 240?
wifi calling requires the stock screen density in order to get the initial turn-on screen with the little ON-OFF switch thingie
Did you recently upgrade to a new rom? Maybe going back will fix any problems. If you haven't, maybe installing a new rom that includes wifi calling wll fix any errors. You could always make a backup.
fix loacation
I had this problem (at my home in Minneapolis) after visiting Oaxaca Mexico. The gps on Google maps still sensed I was in Mexico. I opened up Maps and then my location was reset. I also rebooted. Problem solved. Also, try fixing permissions.

Weired problem during data roaming - "Data Connectivity Problem"

Hi everybody,
since yesterday I have a weired problem:
i booked a data roaming plan of my provider (austrian) to get some emails and stuff during my stays in foreign countries (switzerland at the moment).
The first day, everything went fine. But: the day after (yesterday) i was suddenly unable to connect to my IMAP with k-9 (was working the first day). I also recognized that a connection to the google services (indication with green status bar - modification from Nexus) isn't possible as well.
Almost no app can connect, for example the browser reports:
Data Connectivity Problem
The server failed to communicate. Try Again Later.
Market is not working etc.
On the other hand, a few apps are able to get some data: E-Mail (with Exchange), a Provider app (showing used minutes and data and such things) still work.
Even though data is being used (as shown in the provider app), i can see, that there is some communication going on (with the arrows beside the connection type "H", "3G" and so on). So what the hell is going wrong?
Unfortunately I cannot test domestic data until next week - but WiFi is working flawless (status bar turns green, I can access all websites, E-Mails, etc.).
I am running out of ideas.
One last hint: I tested a few apps (3G Watchdog and Onava Light) and uninstalled them later on. But yesterday evening I did a backup and reinstalled JVQ - the issue was there even after initial firmware installation (JVQ).
Thank you for any help,
kind regards,
ww
P.S. can someone give me a hint, where I can find certain logs to maybe get an idea of the error: alogcat doesn't show me anything, there is no /dev/log directory...
my specs are below in the signature...
Ok, it seems that I narrowed it down.
It depends, with which provider the mobile roams. If it is the "preferred" provider here in Switzerland (sunrise), only the few mentioned apps are actually working - all others are still blocked (seems to be some kind of proxy or firewall or something like this, just guessing). Same result with another provider (Orange CH).
If I manually try another provider (Swisscom), it works with every app (at least with this one). Isn't this strange? Anyone experienced such a behaviour??? It seems, that all regular ports (80,...) are blocked, that's why I can't use k-9, browser and so on. Only a few ports (as exchange mail, whatsapp) seems to be open.
Kind regards,
ww
Similar problem
I have in the last few days experienced the very same problem. Roaming allows only e-mail, but not the browser. Any suggestion about what I can do?
It may depend from the provider's policy, I'm afraid. Only one choice is to disable auto network, and manually pick one by one, and to check.
I called my provider, they re-activated roaming again and after a few days it suddenly worked... still strange though...
Kind regards,
ww

Iconia WIFI but this one is different

I connect fine and can surf the net and connect to the market, connect and send and recieve e-mails.
BUT when I go to try and look for software update I get this message "Network coverage is currently poor. Please move to a location with better coverage to continue." Also when I try to see my apps in the market I get this message "A network error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to previous screen."
I am sitting like 2 feet from the router with a perfect signal.
Any thoughts?
Non rooted on 3.2
+1

Issues with Hotspot and Tether after unlocking from AT&T

Hi guys. This started with me having unfix-able, horrible wifi at my house leading me to look for a good mobile data plan where I can just hotspot (or tether) 4g off my SGH-1337 Galaxy s4 onto my desktop.
I got this phone in America (April 2014) on AT&T and then moved back to Australia (Late 2014). I unlocked it successfully and legitimately and it has been fine ever since using the provider Optus.
I found a decent plan with lots of data then went to check if my hotspot worked only to find it doesn't work and after some research I found out AT&T do something to restrict it after being unlocked; which I find to be ridiculous, why do they do this? When I pressed turn on hotspot it would say in small text at the bottom of the screen "mobile data is not available or invalid sim".
I then found a solution using Titanium backup but needed to root my phone first. After figuring that out (took about 4 different applications) using TowelRoot, I got Titanium backup and I backed up and uninstalled these two apps that apparently are the ones that cause this restriction. They are "Tetheringautomation 1.0.1." and "TetheringProvision 4.06.70". After doing this, hotspot worked for a few seconds then it turns off and displays this new error message: "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped." with a box and a prompt to press okay.
I've tried enabling the hotspot through widgets and through ES File Explorer's Net Manager and the same thing still happens.
I've tried clearing the cache and starting in safe mode and both did the same thing (after clearing the cache it worked for 5 seconds then gave the error, after this first time it gave the error straight away after that.).
I then tried this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2791938 with the xposed's x tether. After installing it and restarting my phone, the hotspot worked for about 20 seconds, I found it on my computer and connected to it but google.com wouldn't load (so I guess it wasn't working properly) and then it dropped out and turned off. Now it is back to saying the same: "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.".
I posted this elsewhere and was told to try the app fixes 'TrevE Mod for wifi tether' and 'Foxfi'. I tried both multiple times and still getting the same error message.
I tried another solution off the xda forums specific to my phone model and AT&T issue. It involved going to system/apps and renaming both tethering automation files then replacing them with a file that was provided in the post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2535141
After doing the whole process twice to make sure I did it right, It still didn't work, it gives me the first error message: "Mobile data is not available or invalid SIM" and I definitely have the 4g on and have double checked that it is working.
I have no idea what to do now, I've googled everything I can think of and read too many threads. I'm going to post this to multiple forums for coverage. Here on xda I will post here and in the General Q&A section too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/issues-hotspot-tether-unlocking-att-t3181039
The build number is NC1. And I'm on 4.4.2. The hotspot worked fine when I was in America on AT&T. Tethering also gives me the same error message.
I am at wits end and have no idea what to do now. Please Please help me! I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks for even reading my issues, I really want this hotspot to work asap.
