Was about to do that myself.. But came here and saw it was done already.. Thanks!
Hi, this ROM is testing or in beta version?
Failed
I loaded the basic i897_GB_BL and speedmod-kernel-i897-k13e-500hz from this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350266
Things worked out, then proceeded to attempt to install 7.1 file from CWM.
Had to load it second time due to expected invalid partition error.
Second time it quickly crashed and went to at&t white loading screen.. and stayed there.
hmm.. I've already been at this for a few hours.. going to crash and see if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks

the same thing happened to me .
and i get error failed to mount data
I was getting the same error. I finally got it to flash after I wiped everything except internal memory. I flashed the rom, but not gapps. After booting up the first time I went back into twrp and flashed gapps and did a factory reset.
It boots fine, however the power and volume buttons do not work at all (both before and after flashing gapps). I can only get the screen on by plugging the phone in.
Also, the home button did not work, which seems to be a common issue on other roms as well.
My sgh i897 also face same issue with this Rom... Plz.. Fix it..

Hi,
Coming from latest cyanogen 4.4.4 and I followed the instruction here but ended on bootloop but I can access twrp recovery.
What else I can do from there?
If I have to odin or attempt to put back cyanogen, which step I have to follow to successful install it?
Thank you.
I will add a short video.

you can just revert to your 4.4.4 by reinstalling that package if u had it in a zip...otherwise download one and install it
successful installation
I repaired the file system and it started but mobile data is not working not even showing the 2, 3 or 4g logo.
Power and volume buttons also don't work, just to reboot on long press.
I installed from download app or widget file manager cyanogen 3 but it doesn't start at all.
Will try internet on WiFi soon.
And add photos.

To try to remap keys
Hi everyone, someone has tried to edit the aries-keypad.kl and cypress-touchkey.kl files to get enable the power and volume buttons? like this:
\system\usr\keylayout
aries-keypad.kl
key 115 VOLUME_UP WAKE
key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
key 116 POWER WAKE
key 139 MENU VIRTUAL
key 172 HOME VIRTUAL
key 158 BACK VIRTUAL
key 217 SEARCH VIRTUAL

cypress-touchkey.kl

Unfortunately keys need to be mapped in kernel.
Try the original version by xc-racer99 (link in the first post): probably it will have more buttons working, even if they are not in the captivate place you can get accustomed to the I 9000 layout.

I'd like to ask this on verygreens siz agnostic CM7 thread, but I can't because I am a noob and it's an "expert" thread.
Anyway, I have a rooted Nook (using autonooter 3.0" and I want to run CM7 from an 8GB SD card. All went well, and I am able to run CM& and I set up wifi.
I then copied the latest gapps onto the card and tried to go into recovery mode. It just boots into CM7. I have tried all the suggestions on verygreen's thread, but none of them worked for me.
Can someone please help?
Thanks
OK, never mind. I got it to work.
In case some other idiot has the same problem, here is what worked:
1. Press "N" and power buttons simultaneously. Release the power button about 5 seconds after the "Touch the future of read" screen comes on.

When did you release the N button?
I've experimented with all sorts of timings but still can't get into the Recovery Mode. Could someone please help?
I'm installed CM7 on a 8GB SD card for my Nook Color using the Size-agnostic SD Card image and CM7 installer for SD Cards. with updater.
In addition to the instructions on a number of threads on XDA, I tried all sorts of variations on the button sequence, for example, pressing N before/after/simultaneously with the power button, releasing the power button before/1s after/5s after the "future of reading" message shows up, releasing N 1s/5s after releasing the power button, not releasing N at all, and so on... none worked for me. I've been trying for over an hour...
Can someone post a very verbose step-by-step on the button sequence? What am I suppose to see when I enter the recovery mode?
I'm having the same problem. I would very much like to get this stuff to work I have been trying for 2 hours with no luck. Please Help
I've had success (with Market access) snagging ROM Manager. It can flash CWR to your emmc and reboot you to Recovery on its own. Have your ROM loaded on a uSD and navigate to it (after formating cache/data)) then selecting the zip you wish to install. This bypasses the possibility of a bad uSD, bad format on uSD or even corrupt uSD.
Have done several times and yet to fail (knock wood!). Lemme know how it goes.
Eyeballer has a great thread that might also help y'all. Sticky this for future reference.

No joy installing gapps on nookcolor
I had similar issues installing gapps...
- installed CM7 (7.0.3 encore stable) on NC uSD using verygreen's method with no issues. I used the latest generic SD card image (v1.3).
However, when I went to install gapps via the recommended methods, I got the following errors:
- key recovery method doesn't ever show the penguin (is that the indicator you're in recovery?)
- software reboot with recovery option also no joy
- tried flashing CW via the ROM manager app to do what skeeterpro recommends, and get an installation error flashing CW...
... so my solution was to start from scratch and put both CM7 and gapps on the uSD the first time.
I just delayed any online portion of the setup wizard (picked the top option at the beginning - not the pretty-looking Setup Wizard name; you'll know what I mean when you get there) until I got through it and was able to setup WiFi.
All is working well now.
Cheers!
I just did a new instal with GAPPS on the SD card with CM7 and it works like a charm now.

It'll also install the Dalingrin's O/C kernel at the same time. Tried this 3X and worked perfectly.
Verygreen does caution, though, that the all-at-once method has caused problems for many, and, therefore, does not recommend this.
Also, with his latest SD image, you can bring up a boot menu by pressing the "N" key when you see the CyanogenMod banner. This allows you to boot to SD, EMMC, or recovery mode -a great and handy feature!
I use Cm7-01302012-nightly and by mistake deleted the boot menu, the phone not start, any suggestions?
I had my Iconia working well with OTA 3.1 unrooted and it all started when I decided to update it 3.2 and then root it but after updating i realised that there was no root for 3.2 so i searched for a way to do so and i found the "downgrade to 3.0.1(unstable) then root" way and followed it and got my Iconia with the 3.0.1(unstable) downgrade and rooted it with "gingerbreak" and downloaded "acer recovery installer" and got "virtuous galaxy 1.0.5" rom and that's when every thing went wrong after i flashed it with the recovery mode it booted but was unusable it kept on force closing and lagging and nothing worked it didn't even respond to my touches.
I reseted the device many times but in vain so i decided to reflash the downgrade file "3.0.1(unstable)" and remove the root and re-update to 3.2 as if nothing happened but just when i reflashed the downgrade it booted but didn't even give me the chance to do anything it became really "unstable" it kept on force closing the launcher as if i'm stuck in a loop and i don't know what to do as i don't have that much knowledge so i left it closed as it is (so as not to ruin it more ) and want anyone to PLZ HELP me to return back to stock 3.2 (totally stock as if i just bought it) with no roms or root .
Thanks in advance to anyone who did or didn't help
I solved it i managed to get to settings in the 1 second interval between the successive force closes and then pressed factory default and like magic every thing was good as new at last.
Thanks to everybody helped me ...... no one even replied
Well 46 minutes isn't that long in forum-reply terms
Anyways. Good you got it fixed. Did you install Clockworkmod from Acer Recovery Installer, a full wipe followed by a fresh ROM from here flashed using CWM would likely have fixed it.

Next time, you can reset your tablet by going: power button + right volume button (when held landscape with power button on top left corner)
power button + left volume button boots to recovery.
I'm a bit of a newbie with rooting and flashing but have been pretty successful up until now. I installed TWRP 2.3.6.2 and CM 10.2 on my Verizon LG G2 about a month ago.
Since then I've been updating with nightlies with much success.
When the 11.0 build showed up in the CM updates list I downloaded it and installed. It failed and I had to flash an older 10.2 nightly. My device became pretty unstable after this. Most GApps were gone or somehow corrupted. I re-installed a number of them but Google Play still didn't work.
I tried updating again to an 11.0 nightly today and again it failed. I then flashed a recent 10.2 nightly that had worked for me and now my phone is stuck an infinite spinning Cyanogenmod boot screen.
I have tried every combination of holding power and volume down to try to get into TWRP to try flashing another nightly but my device just continues to reboot to LG then Cyanogenmod spinner over and over.
I decided maybe I needed to reinstall TWRP (looks like there's a new version from today). I tried to access my device with it plugged into my computer using fastboot and adb push loki_flash and it returned "device not found."
I'm totally stuck now... no idea what to do next. Would be so grateful for some guidance on how to get my device functional again.
Thanks.
One additional comment: I've tried doing Power + Volume Down during LG logo but it doesn't do anything.
I managed to get into a Hardware Key Control Mode screen by holding Power + Volume Up + Volume Down which had some options about answering calls or turning off alarm using hardware keys.
Cannot seem to do anything to get to TWRP.
To get to TWRP:
* Hold Power until the phone shuts off
* Hold Power+Volume Down until the LG logo appears
* Release Power+Volume Down then immediately hold them both down again
You'll get a message to the effect of 'Press Power to permanently erase all user settings.' Do that (if you have a custom recovery installed, it'll just boot into that).
Also keep in mind that the first install of a custom rom like CM will sit on that logo screen for a couple of minutes.
I somehow just managed to get to a screen that says "Factory hard reset. Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings? Press Power key to confirm, and any other key to cancel." It says "Rooted" in the upper left corner.
The screen doesn't respond to Volume Up or Volume Down and I just let it sit there for a few minutes. It reverted back to the infinite CM spinner.
At this point I'm pretty much at a loss for what to do -- and afraid to do anything to mess things up even more.
Should I be trying to go back to stock? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Thanks for this suggestion -- I'll try to get back to that screen and do this. Also the CM spinner was stuck for 8 hours last night... so definitely not a function of bit of a delay for first install of a custom ROM.

Phew, that worked! Back into TWRP.
Any additional guidance on what I should be doing to try to get back into a stable version of CM? I have many builds of CM 10.2 in internal storage that I could pick from. But before I try another one of those should I attempt to clean things up at all? Seems like my current configuration must have some sort of conflict that's leading to all the instability. I do have Titanium Pro installed so I believe I should be able to get my apps + data back as long as I don't completely clean out everything.
Thanks again for the help.
Also mods: just realized that I should have posted this thread in Q&A not General. Sorry about that! I don't think I can move it over myself or I would.
I think what I would like to do now is update TWRP to 2.6.3.3 and then install 11.0 using this build: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/lg-g2-development/258385-rom-wip-cyanogenmod-11-g2-vzw.html
Not sure how to update TWRP from 2.6.3.2 to 2.6.3.3 though. When I originally set up TWRP I used adb / loki-push but it's a bit of a blur how that worked since I was just following step 1-2-3 instructions.
Sorry for being such a noob with this stuff. Any additional guidance would be awesome.
As I suspected, flashing any CM ROM now leads to an infinite CM spinner so I think I need a plan B to get my device working again. At least I can now get to TWRP thanks to the help above.
Not sure where to go from here.

Yup, when I finally got into TWRP I did this and was able to install a version of CM 10.2 that actually loaded.
All my apps and settings are obviously gone now so it's a good time to make the leap to TWRP 2.6.3.3 and CM 11.0. Trying to figure out how to do that now (in the proper forum!):

I htink the wipe would have helped from the beg. Any time you jump roms I suggest doing a wipe. Also one thing you may want to look at is a backup of all your settings and everything, I use titanium and it has helped me out in situations like this in the past.

Thanks, makes a ton of sense.
I also use Titanium to backup. When I do a fresh install of TWRP and CM 11.0 can I restore my system data in addition to apps + app data? I'm not sure to what restoring extent system data could create conflicts with the CM 11.0 build. For example will all the Google Mobile Services system data from my CM 10.2 build create conflicts?
What I really want is to easily bring back ~150 apps + all of my SMS messages, Contacts, Email settings, Homescreen layout and settings, etc. Not exactly sure what's achievable.

You can safely use TB to restore user apps, their data and trebutchets data if you use that. Backing up sms and contacts with TB, I'm not sure about that as I used other app "super sms backup". And about emails I have no idea. Also it's not a good idea to restore settings, better to set them again

You know, I was wondering as well of how to get to TWRP if a rom didn't boot. I got to that screen too and thought it would erase the phone. This is good to know and should be a sticky somewhere.
Hello,
I have been trying to upgrade my nexus 4 to 4.4.4 or 4.4.3. I currently run the rom below and keep getting system update notifications. its downloading the update over and over and failing and killed my data plan lastnight.
When I flash a rom for 443 right now it looks to install fine. With some roms i get halfway through the config, Just after giving your name if im right. You can scroll down on the page, the arrow at the bottom of the screen that you are to click to go to the next screen turns from a down arrow to a right arrow but it never lets you click it to continue. im stuck. ive tried unclicking everything. My only safety is having the backup from 4.4.2 and i restore it back.
Some roms let me go all the way through the config but when its at the home screen and is giving you the quick tutorial, you click on the screen to continue and you can hear it click so it knows you touched the screen but it never goes further. again cant get to my homescreen to do anything. have to restore.
Ive been in this loop for a while now and just looking for any suggestions to why i cant put 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 on? Wouldnt call myself a noob with all of this but im kinda feelin like it now.

ok..
did you make a backup in recovery? if you did, try this, as a wipe isnt required to upgrade. restore your backup, boot up, then go back and dirty flash that rom over what you have. dirty flash means dont wipe a single thing. btw, when you flash a rom, it automatically wipes dalvik and cache, so you never actually have to do that when rom flashing(and never have to wipe anything for kernel flashing).
when i did that i can see icons on the homescreen which is different but i still get stuck at the same spot. the screen is faded with a blue circle in the center that says welcome make your self at home. it has a create more screens for apps and folders wording at the bottom with an arrow, and a OK button.
I click OK and hear it click but nothing happens. i try to scroll for the arrow and hear actions but nothing happens. I can pull down the menu at the top and goto my email. but when i go back to home, that screen is still there. ive rebooted the device. tried clicking back to get past it. run task killer. it always comes back to this intro screen on the home screen

weird. it happens after dirty flashing? the reason i said dirty flash is because those menus wont appear. it might be wise to flash the stock image, then reroot.

Can you point me in the right direction of the right stock image? i was downloading from googles developer site "Factory Images "occam" for Nexus 4" but i think that might be the wrong thing? wouldnt extract properly. several download attempts and methods
it was the right thing you were downloading probably, as it is a google site.
nexus factory images https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
how to flash the factory image http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312
Ive got adb working on my raspberry pi now and im able to send commands but im getting an error towards the end
error failed to load 'image-occam--ktu84p.zip' : Cannot allocate memory
what folder is it trying to copy it to? /system?
i couldnt delete aps from system/app
i removed some stuff from /android/data but that didnt help. same error.
I was looking for a report of sorts for the lollipop soak test that is being conductucted but the official reports are confidential, so I decided to create this thread to report my observations.
I had an unrooted and locked bootloader with stock 4.4.4 KitKat running before I upgraded to lollipop using adb sideload method with the lollipop soak test img. I should also mention that I'm not part of the official soak test and used the img provided at
"https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_CC1ltzjXZ0S3packR6TUVVek0/view?sle=true"
Following are some of my observations after a successful update:-
>I had some applications installed on the sdcard. They were not immediately available after a boot. They dont even show up in the list of installed applications on sdcard in the settings. As a consequence the application icons in the launcher go missing. This happens after every boot.
>When I boot into recovery mode, only the green android logo shows up with "no commands" written beneath it. Nothing happens even if I keep preessing the volume buttons and press the power key once, which previously showed the recovery menu.
I think these are potential bugs.
So I would like to know if anyone else is facing similer problems.
Also it isn't exactly a problem but isn't multiple users a buitin feature of lollipop? Why is it disabled by default?
I think it would be nice if someone who is part of the soak test could inform motorolla of the two issues mentioned above.

The apps missing are the apps on sd card...... Multiple user should be there in the final build
Many people get that in the recovery... Googling should help....
Fastboot modes and custom recoveries are there so it is no problem but with the present recovery of yours u may not be able to flash the final upgrade so be ready to unlock the bootloader and do some flashing when the final upgrade comes up.....

That should include all devices right?? So won't I get it over the air as well??

those moto csa persons are worse than idiots..dont ever believe them..motorola never had them updated..we are more aware what is going on in moto..and what will happen next
Of the issues you encountered here are my comments.
>I had some applications installed on the sdcard. They were not immediately available after a boot. They dont even show up in the list of installed applications on sdcard in the settings. As a consequence the application icons in the launcher go missing. This happens after every boot.
Comment>> Yes, this happened when I first booted with lollipop. Apps use to disappear for 5 min approx after reboot. Maybe they were not loaded in memory. The problem went away after 3-4 reboots and 24 hours+ usage. Maybe system build new cache by that time.
>When I boot into recovery mode, only the green android logo shows up with "no commands" written beneath it. Nothing happens even if I keep pressing the volume buttons and press the power key once, which previously showed the recovery menu.
Comment>> The key combination for entering recovery boot menu has changed after the update. Steps below:
1)First boot in recovery mode( I think you made this far)
2)When android in distress logo appears ( with ! mark on its tummy, lol ) and " no commands" beneath it. Try the next step
3)Press the vol up key for 10-15 seconds, after this with vol up key pressed...tap the power key once or keep pressing the power key with vol up key for another 5 odd seconds and the menu shall appear. This did the trick for me.
Besides I have encountered other issues with lollipop. I have also found some solutions or rather explanations for them:
1)The dialer response time has increased considerably. It takes almost 5-6 seconds to display sim selection menu after tapping on a contacts name or number. Things have improved a bit after I went to settings > running apps > dialer. Force stopped it and cleared its data and cache. Response time has now marginally decreased.
2)The boot time has also increased. It almost takes 1.5-2.5 minutes for everything to setup and running. On kitkat it was always less than a minute.
3)Live Wallpapers have disappeared
4) Exclamation mark on network signal indicators when mobile data net or net over WiFi is not available. Did some research and found this is a lollipop feature, hate it. It makes the user think there is some problem with network but actually it only indicates the absence of an active internet connection.
5)After switching both sim to disabled state and re-enabling, leads to the phone forgetting the saved WiFi connections for some minutes. Things get back to normal after the passage of few extra minutes.
Hit thanks if I have helped you in any way. And also post some better solutions to above listed problems. CHEERS

It still happens to my device even after 24+ hours of usage...
Apps on sd card don't show as system partitions are charged due to lollipop update. Only apps on internal storage will work....
Hit thanks if I helped...

Yes, it looks like a problem with apps on your sd card, maybe because the system is failing to recognize apps on your sd card due to obsolete registration with the new OS. You can try to uninstall some of the apps on your sd card and reinstall them, thereafter move them to the sd card again. This will create fresh association with the new OS and maybe the problem goes away. This problem is happening because lollipop uses ART run-time, kitkat used dalvik...so give this method a shot . Hope this helps
Also init.d not supported..,

There is a thread for the ringtone problem fix..
Theres also a thread to enable multiuser...
I guess you used google launcher coz the default launcher did not have the Ok google swipe right thing...
And Background Still Black?? Can you elaborate??

If by 'background still black' , you mean the background of the launcher still black. Then, my dear friend, get some other launcher from play store , preferably you might want the google launcher like all others. That would additionally also provide you the feature of 'ok google' on swipe towards right! Rest of your problems , i guess have already been attended to by some other good fellow !
