After having my phone unlocked, my WiFi settings disappear after reboot and WiFi has to be turned on manually. I've also noticed the saved networks menu seems to have disappeared as well. Any ideas on how to get it back?

Is it me or it should be like that? When my phone is going to losj screen it just changes from WiFi to 3G connection and when i am unlocking it goes to WIFI
Its annoying, I get the exact same thing. If I leave it locked for a few minutes, it switches WIFI off, and restarts it.
Its automatically set that way. To leave it on: goto settings > wireless & network >wifi settings> press menu button then goto advance > set WIFI sleep policy to NEVER and you should be good.
First off thanks to everyone for allowing us to enjoy our phones the way they should be used.
Playing with my router with different settings (router works fine with wifi laptop), put the airplane mode on, now the wifi does not work. Click it on, get a "unable to scan for network", and then the wifi icon goes out.
Any ideas would be greatly appraciated
Thanks in advance
Hi.
I had the same thing happen to me. My wifi was working ok and then suddenly, POOF! My MAC address disappeared ( it was faintly visible in the advanced settings menu for wifi) and everytime I tried to engage wifi I got the message, "unable to scan for networks" I had to do a hard factory reset to restore the feature. Home Screen>Menu>Settings>Privacy>Factory reset. Back up your pictures, videos, and music to your sdcard. The reset will restore factory settings/delete all you have done/will not touch you sd card.
I want to get Android (and perhaps my google account) to forget all WiFi networks I've used. I can't remove them from Settings > Wireless and Networks > WiFi Settings because this menu no longer responds when I have WiFi enabled, and I can't see the list of networks when WiFi is disabled.
Anyone got any ideas?

neidlinger, you've just made my day. I've been trying to get this fixed for a while. It's caused all kinds of problems for me - one time it even randomly rebooted and removed all my widgets. Many thanks!
I am experiencing a puzzling issue with WiFi on my Galaxy S on stock JW7: after going abroad and connecting to lots of free networks I found I went back home, and my home network will not even display on the available networks. It will only appear for a moment just when I enable WiFi connections on my phone, then it will disappear.
I already tried deleting all the free networks I added, rebooting, and even trying to force a connection in the few seconds that the network is displayed. I even tried removing and re-adding it manually, but the problem persists.
Has anyone got any idea on how to fix this?
Thanks!
Try to upgrade phone firmware.
I have an SGH-I337 that is running Cyanogenmod 11-20151112-SNAPSHOT-M12-jflte with baseband I337UCUAMDB, and I am experiencing some odd WiFi behavior.
The WiFi will be connected, showing in both the notification bar and the WiFi settings, the notification bar with show traffic (blinking up and down arrows), and yet apps won't be able to access the network. I can restart the WiFi via settings and this will usually restore app connectivity, though not permanently; eventually apps will lose connectivity again. Rinse; repeat.
At times I'll get annoyed at having the WiFi problems and turn WiFi off and use LTE. However, the WiFi eventually turns itself back on, often times exhibiting the connectivity issue that drove me to switch to LTE.
Another issue is that the WiFi will forget the settings for a given network. The WiFi app will simply show the network, not indicating that settings are saved, and I'll have to enter them again.
I haven't been able to establish a pattern to these issues, and it's driving me mad! Has anyone seen anything like this? Have any suggestions, besides taking a handgun to the phone?
