Using another kdz on LG v20 AT&T model

I have a question I was thinking of using the h915 kdz on my AT&T LG v20 variant. I saw the post about using patched lgup with common dll. I tried this method without success. Lgup kept saying that I it cannot flash h915 to h910. I cannot seem to get around this. My query is can I use another carrier kdz on my phone and which one should I use? And an someone assist with the process? By the way I am using LG V20 H810 currently on nougat. Stock firmware don't want to lose root, just want Android Oreo. Thanks in advance. Also is there an easier way to gain root besides dirty Santa. Seems so lo d and risky.

Use pathed LGUP file in thread:
[GUIDE][UNBRICK] Patch LGUP to unlock features & unbrick V20 (Variant mismatch fix)
and you will can to flash h915 kdz, or us996 kdz. Don't flash other kdz, you will loose your phone.
only one method to access root -- dirty santa.
You can just run follow the instructions in the root thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/root-h910-v10m-t3664500 on any version H910. Backup anything you need, including from the internal storage and SD card, before you start.
Follow the instructions exactly as written, until they tell you to flash the h910-10r ZIP. Go here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/h910-att-lg-v20-stock-oreo-rooted-t3846384 get the proper version of TWRP, download the v20h ZIP, download the proper mk2000 kernel, and the Magisk 17.1 ZIP,then flash the rooted v20h ZIP.

proper way to upgrade rooted ls977 to stock based oreo

Hi guys, my Sprint ls977 v20 is rooted on an old stock rom zvc or something with dirty Santa. Still has the old glitched up boot screen.
I want to upgrade to oreo stock based. I'm okay losing root. I cant find any guide for how to do this as there is no back to stock recovery for sprint. Any pointers on how to flash it without brick? I'm okay keeping twrp of I need to but won't cry if I have to lose it.

There is one thread on how to return from the DirtySanta bootloader to Sprint stock found here. However, over the last few pages you'll see someone having trouble getting it to work, so I'm not sure how straightforward this process is.
If your rooted LS997 is still in decent condition, then you might be better off just selling it (there are plenty of Sprint users out there who'd like to have a rooted LS997, even if it's restricted to Nougat) while buying another non-rooted LS997.
I have a Oreo-able ls997 on stock ZVD. I could trade if ya want. Would love a rooted backup instead if able.

LG H910PR CLARO Puerto Rico OREO 8.0? NEED HELP

Hello everyone
Yesterday I got a steal deal for a brand new lgv20 in just 100$ but it's Puerto Rico model H910PR "CLARO" and it's stuck on December 2016 Update Android 7.0.
I tried to Ota update but it shows device is already on latest update.
Then I tried LG Bridge and it shows also same device is on latest OS.
I SAW MANY POSTS THAT ANDROID OREO IS OUT FOR V20 FOR A WHILE BUT COULDN'T FIND THE OREO KDZ ANYWHERE.
PLEASE SOMEONE SHOW ME SOMETHING HERE I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED. :crying:
Hello, I have the same phone, there is no Oreo update for us (in fact there's no update at all) unless you're willing to root.
if you're willing to root then just keep a dump of your partitions then root it using H910 root method and flash Oreo H910.
Any H910 rom works perfectly on our phone.

Thanks for reply
You mentioned H910 oreo works perfectly on 910pr so my question is all the radios works ?
I mean wifi/sim card/gps/mobile data everything works?
If everything works perfectly i would love to try it ASAP .
Are you running oreo N910 on your N910pr currently and which method you use to root ?
Do i have to flash N910 KDZ on my N910PR or i have to flash Custom rom from Twrp ?
Sorry for many questions i asked i just want to. Make sure before going any further.

Everything works fine, if it somehow doesn't, just flash your Modem, Modemst1 and Modemst2 from your partition dump and everything will work again, that's why you always keep backup.
I used this https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/root-h910-v10m-t3664500 root method
Then I flashed Alpha ROM Oreo H910 (a debloated version of the stock rom) through TWRP.

From what I remember, that wont give you much. The partition table doesnt match up (GPT in LGUP), and for me it just ended with an error (Something with the partition not lining up). You could try KdzWriter, it might give you a better chance.
No problem. Just take my coffee and flash with LGUP Patched using PARTITION DL then my VS995 become to US996.
Re-root again with dirtysanta and flash A-O Oreo US996 and everything is good.
The good news is, my V20 didn't reseting cellular signal when connected on WiFi. I'm not sure why VS995 always doing cellular signal reset when connected on WiFi.

LG V20 910 Flashing changes?

I have a LG V20 910 (att version) that has never been flashed and last security patch was March 2017. Roll back is allowed. I am trying to install TWRP. I am currently looking over the guides mentioned in this forum. Is there anything new I should be aware of?
I tried following this guide but several of the files needed to be downloaded are no longer available.
[ROOT] HOWTO: AT&T H910 up to v20g (FULLY TESTED)
***WARNING*** This is ONLY for the H910. If you flash H915 firmware on an H918 -- you WILL brick it. If you are currently on Oreo, you can root your phone, but you CAN NOT keep Oreo - for now. This will downgrade you back to Nougat, which is...
