VR - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Is there any VR gear for the LG V20? I'm hoping so.

Not sure offhand, but I know the "cheap" headsets you see around all seem to be geared for about a 6" device, and it looks like physically, we might have a problem with that.

Whose considering a Synapse Phone

With all N1 alternative threads, I'm surprised I haven't seen the synapse phone mentioned more, so I thought I would start a thread
I am quite heavily considering it. Tho I think I wanna wait for series 2, just to make sure custom rom community is there. Being rooted and unlocked bootloader from factory. But I think I should buy one to ensure there is a series 2
So who else is considering one of these synapse phones? To maybe replace their N1

wtf how cheap is this phone to start with? They're charging you extra for the most basic smartphone features...like a 3.5 mm jack!
*edit*
just modified my phone to personal liking, almost $900!
Read the remarks for a good analysis:
http://phandroid.com/2010/10/19/ger...g-custom-built-android-2-2-handsets-possibly/
Not going to happen.
So not a scam, but prob not gonna happen considering company resources
Damn

Man that seems like such a good idea....
The first day someone posted about it on gizmodo or something, I went and looked at the prices. I "built" a phone using all of components that would put it above similar phones spec wise, it was going to cost about $900 USD.
Considering I spent my entire summer savings on my Nexus One ($580 + ~$20 for screen protectors, case, etc = $600) It's not necessarily a good or bad value. If I had that type of expendable income, I would totally go for it!
The concept is cool though - make a phone that caters to your needs. I wish an American company would try this! Maybe Google? "Nexus 2 - Have It YOUR WAY!"

hahahahahaa. Somehow, equating a $500+ phone to fast food just doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. lol
It's an interesting idea - I won't be in the market for a new phone until September 2011 so will keep an eye on them until then. That should be enough time for them to succeed / fail.
I like the idea of a 3 year warranty..
sounds like a good idea, but they are being jackasses, 256mb of ram as the basic mode want more ram? well pay up, which is just plain 2008 or wifi, 3.5mm as options when these are basic necessities for a smartphone.
Seems more like a dream idea than an actual production device

Alright I'm bumping this thread up just to show everyone there's a better alternative to the Nexus S.
And the website is pretty much working for me now. Though there's no option for me to preorder yet, but I'm more excited about this than the other phone.

If this true I will buy one for sure...just wanna see some in the wild and read some reviews...I will most def pass on the Nexus S

Prices are not that awful for what I need, I end up at 500 or so USD
Obviously, I didn't put 4G and hdmi, radio, etc. since I don't use them and 4G won't be appearing in Canada for a while ^^
I'll see how it gets when they start actually selling the phones...it's an awesome idea honestly, I just hope they succeed! Go germans go
3 years warranty? Amazing if true. That alone is worth it! And finally a xenon flash for an android phone.
Custom spec phone?
I would say you're on your own as far as custom ROMs go...?

It's kinda stupid to buy a smart watch. No offense but it really is. How many ppl do you know that has one? Why? Consumers dont need it nor do they want it. It's useless tech that company push out to create hype to attract attention. But in the end, the reviews come in and the tech just rots in the stores or at the company's warehouses.
Get her a necklace, buy her a regular wrist watch or buy her a car.

The pebble is the best one out but the display is terrible, so if the "best" one out there fails in the one aspect that is most important in a device you look at...you don't buy one.
Plus apple has the iwatch coming which is forcing samsung to get into the fray, so in a year there will be FAR better devices out.
iWatch will come out and then EVERYONE will be making a watch ....including HTC, Moto, Sammy, and LG.
what is the point of a smart watch? what can it do that a phone can't and at what time would you have a watch on and not your phone? if I am going to wear a watch it will be a good looking one not some dorky looking one that does the same thing my phone already does.

It's a companion not an independent device, like a bluetooth headset, you sync your phone with it and you can receive/reject calls, respond to texts...and that's all i can think of but I'm sure it has other uses.
As for carrying something even though my phone can already do it, I have a bluetooth headset, 4/3 camera, ipod, etc. that I carry at different times along with my n4 so I don't see why that matters.

LG G3A - The perfect version

http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_announces_g3_a_in_south_korea-news-9264.php
I see that LG have announced a new version of the G3 and this to me is the perfect version - Basically the G2 with a memory card slot / removable battery and laser camera.
These are the specs I wanted - the QHD screen on the G3 is overkill and restricts the phone - the size is a little bit too big.
I hope there will be an international version - If not I will try to import one if I can confirm that it will work on the UK network.
There is like 4 versions now? G3 g3 beat g3 prime g3 a. Prob missed something.
Edit: G3 stylus or whatever its called.

I had the G2 and upgraded to the G3 which is an excellent phone - it's just that for me, and a lot of people, the specs of the G3a are more suitable.
I am not slagging the G3 in any way. I actually think LG are the current best phone makers, it is just a shame the General public are unaware of that and follow the hype of other manufacturers.

Or maybe it's the fact that others are not experiencing the issues that you have with the device. Its the same as some love meat while others don't. Honestly unless the battery capacity is raised with those other additional g3's then I wouldn't see the need to get it! But that's me........... Just going by your what you post

I totally agree with you, but a choice that fits different needs is what is great.
Others produce a mini version of a flagship at much lower specs which just don't suit the needs of those who like high end phones. The G3a is a great compromise (for me)
I will buy one.
And this is a forum where we discuss new phones etc - that is the purpose of the thread! Or is that concept a little difficult for you.

When will Nougat 7.1.1. come to V20?

Ok V20 came with 7.0, but then when 7.1.1. will arrive OTA? Thanks.
No idea, but we may not even get it.
Think of what happened with Lollipop 5.1.1... a lot of phones skipped it, and jumped directly to 6.
I think I remember this happening with LG too in the past, with the G4 precisely.

We have 7.1.1 available for us if you are rooted. AOSP provides the latest 7.1.1 but we lose the second screen.
That's the only reason I stay on 7.0 stock ROMs right now.

This is one of the first phones I've owned that I cannot root, and it kills me! I knew what I was getting into, but I hoped... It was foolish of me. Thing is, I've either become too fussy with what I want from a phone, spec-wise, or the market is saturated with devices that manufacturers WANT us to buy / THINK they know what we want. Depends on your point of view I guess.

I get you. However, I have no reason to root because the phone is perfect to me. It's fast, it doesn't have some ****ty ass skin on it and honestly I just don't see the need to root at this point. I won't buy a Samsung because they suck and are a bad representation of Android.

i finally rooted my t-mobile v20 and took a bit. (not as easy as my Nexus 6p)... but twice already idk how it got stuck in twrp bootloop. I had to completely go back to stock. but cant' complain about stock rom. It's pretty smooth still.
PS: I always thought T-mobile and At&t variants were pretty easy to root. didn't realized at&t is near impossible..
Sprint used to be really easy to root. However since around the S6 the process has been a pain.

I feel like by the time 8gb is actually needed to run Android, the other specs will be significantly outdated. I think I'll stick with the 6gb model.
The new camera app
A definitive improvement in the camera department would be my biggest reason to go to the OP5.
However, this takes battery life same or better than OP3T and a solid overall performance for granted, given the indicated price range.
