I have a Verizon 6900 and made a mistake flashing to OMJ.3.09.01.Custom. During the intermediate step when I flashed to the Official Bell rom to update radio, I allowed it to customize and am experiencing problems with the phone. I understand there is no original Verizon rom to roll back to. Anyway out of this situation?
Thanks

If you put your phone in airplane mode then run radiorefurbishe.exe/refurbish through a command prompt then reboot and then do the *228 update option 2 and you should be fine.
How do I access the command prompt to run the radiorefurbish?
bump.. just curious
I did the same exact thing. I successfully restored my phone by doing the following
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33937
Afterward you will need to hard reset your phone and use *228. Then probably call Verizon and have them re-authenticate your phone.
I have been trying now for almost a fully day to update my hero. I was receiving error 67s and then error 1012. I have been on the phone with customer call all this morning and they tried to reset my phone from the network. Then i was locked out of any data on my phone until the manger corrected my AAA password. Now I can still browse the internet and use other data required applications, but my phone still does not see the new firmware update. Has anyone else had similar problems?
I have 2 stock Sprint Hero phones that I have been trying to update that get stuck at 11% when downloading. Went to my local sprint store and they said it was a problem with the network in our area, North Louisiana.
I used the FRESH 0.4 rom on mine and everything is great.
Yep - I've been getting error 1012 all day. It doesn't even see the update. My Hero is stock rom and not rooted yet. I was waiting to see what kind of updates Sprint and HTC would push before rooting.
**edited i'm in oregon fwiw
whats the firmware version currently? I heard rummers it has something to do with having the early productions that ended in 1.22 instead of 1.29. Mine was a 1.22 as I got it before the official launch. I used the ruu with the launch software and the OTA update went thru with no issues
Dunno - I am looking at software version: 1.29.651.1
build is: CL69164
okay that is the launch release software version. do you get error 1012 when getting on the internet? do you have wifi turned on? Try it with the wi-fi radio off. if you cant get on browser then go to update profile. If you still get error 1012 then you could contact sprint or try doing a data restore the code is ##3282# and you need the msl
Same problem.
Running Software version starting with 1.29
My wifi radio is off, everything else works perfectly I just can't get the update.
I am no expert on this by any means but...
I had rooted mine and it would never even receive the update. Then I ran the RUU utitlity which takes it back to "right out of the box" stage.
Then I was able to get the update immediately. Try that
I did a reboot was able to apply the update. YMMV.
HTC Hero CDMA Sprint. Updated to Fresh 2.0d. Decided to try out the new radio image also: 2.41.05.02.03. Everything worked fine after ROM flash and radio update. I started to have a problem when I decided to do a PRL update also. Right after the PRL update, my phone doesn't recognize towers (no service). It shows PRL version as: 27392.
Any idea on what happened. I tried searching everywhere for a similiar problem/solution, but couldn't find any. I also tried to Update PRL and profile. Neither work. Please help.
EDIT: Under network, it shows "Searching for Service", 0 for "Signal Strength" and out of service for "Service State". I also tried re-flashing both the radio img and ROM over again. No luck. Restarting doesn't fix either.

that does seem strange. be sure you are not roaming and flash back to fresh 1.1
as the prl is in the /radio partition the rom can not change it. on fresh 1.1 update your prl, and profile. that should fix it. good luck
Going to try a revert to Fresh 1.1. I am not roaming BTW (in my house that has service). It has 'signals bars' with an X. Thanks for the fast reply btw
Reverted to Fresh 1.1. Booted up with signal bars and large X over them... no service. Tried to update PRL and profile. Neither worked. Error code 1012.
What is Fresh 1.1? (n00b here)
When I had error code 1012 and no service, I had to hard reset to the phone's factory ROM, and do ##786# - Menu - Reset - MSL - OK and then after reboot do profile update. Key is doing the reset from the factory rom.
MSL might work I am hoping, but believe I would have to call Sprint for the MSL #.
Think 1.56 RUU would work? How about manually changing the PRL or downgrading the baseband?
Try flashing flipzmodes latest ROM, I know for a fact it automaticallyupdate your PRI!
Nevermind sleepy, your talking about your RPL!

you need to do the MSL code fix ...that should reset everything and fix your phone..
I had this as well.
First look at the DamageControl 2.1 R05 or whatever thread, his newest one. If you look on the first page it will have a download for the latest prl file, which is 60663, unzip the file and put it on your SD card. I then called Sprint and told them my phone started saying no service. After the normal stuff the guy said he wanted to send me to the advanced group, because he didnt just want to wipe my phone. Now when I got to that group the lady told me to try ##xxxxx# and some other stuff, and I thought hrmm sounds like an MSL number so I asked her what it was and she just said ohh thats something called MSL. After all of the stuff she tried didnt work they said they would send me a new phone since mine was under warrenty. Since I had the MSL I went in did ##PRL# and entered it, told it to look at the sdcard for /60663.prl and the update happened and my phone is back to normal. Now you can just manually do the update and not worry about it using the rom
i had the exact same problem yesterday. i was in chat with tech support for over 2 hours tryin to figure it out. what your are going to have to do is reprogram your phone like its the first time you got it. but program it manually. they can walk you through it. get your msl number from them. its a pain in the but but after all that when you go to program your phone. i flashed fresh 1.1 and everything was fine. it was stuck roaming because the prl was so low i did a prl update and everything went back to normal flashed back to fresh 2.0d and everything works fine now.
didn't even think to try what ^^^ did. so go ahead and do that probably save ya more time then i spent lol

Fresh 1.1 is a Rom I had this a while back 1012 is a data error! That came from a call to Sprint. You need to update the profile on a 1.5 Rom I used Gumbo 1.5c. The device service works better on 1.5.If you check the PRL did update. After talking to Sprint tech support that is what they will have you do.
This happend to me too, I went into settings, changed it into roaming so I could get a signal and updated the PRL. worked fine.
FIXED:
I called sprint this morning and she set my phone to automatic (so it would roam). It picked up a roaming tower fine. Then she told me to go update the PRL. I did this and it updated successfully. After that, it worked fine on sprints towers
Big thanks for the help guys.
Yeah, I updated my PRL and I couldn't get service. I switched to allow roaming to get a signal, then updated my Profile and PRL once again and the PRL switched to 60663.
I had this exact problem too yesterday. Even an ruu wouldn't fix it. I went to the sprint store and they gave me a new phone. The people there had never seen the problem before.
This is strange... I got the 1012 error when I tried to update my PRL, but it still updated even though it got the error... strange haha. By the way, I'm running TrevE's newest mod of the new Damage rom.
This is a custom ROM that allows root users to customize their settings and such.
I updated my prl through the device self service option and got that 2 something prl. So I went and tried updating through settings and it worked fine.
I was in the same situation, it updated my PRL to like version 17062 or something like that. Needless to say, I didn't have any signal and all I could do was roam. So I turned my phone off, back on, went to update PRL and it updated me to 60663 Fixed itself basically!
I acquired a US Cellular Touch, and I would like to get it working on Verizon. I have followed all of the steps in the "How to Flash your Vogue (CDMA Only)" thread (unable to link b/c I'm a new user).
Currently, I have the stock Verizon ROM flashed on there. The bootloader is the custom Coke 2.31, so I can flash any ROM I wish. I have radio version 3.37.78 (the one included in the stock Verizon ROM). I am able to run BAFMSL, and then launch the EPST tool. I believe all I need to do is modify the settings in there for Verizon, but I'm just wondering what they need to be set to? When I dial a *228, it still gets US Cellular. Do I just need to upload a Verizon PRL? Obviously, once it gets switched to Verizon, I'll need to call them and have them activate it on my plan.
My end game is to have it running Android on Verizon, but I wanted to get it switched to Verizon before worrying about the Android stuff.
Yeah, you need Verizon's PRL file to get it to locate Verizons network. Just use Google or look on the forums, I'm pretty sure it's here somewhere.
Thanks for the post. I did aquire a recent PRL for verizon, and it successfully finds their towers. I can call *228, and get the verizon prompt. It fails at the auto-program (both activating and updating). I'm guessing that's because the ESN is not in their system. Any suggestions? I just got off the phone with their customer service, and she said they were unable to because it wasn't a Verizon phone. Has anyone else been able to add a non-verizon phone to their account? Would I have better luck in a store?
So I have been using MetroPCS on my Moto G5 Plus since I got it. Well today I went and activated my device with the Sprint network... It wasn't working when I left the store, and I told the rep how it was modified (using RessurectionRemix 5.8.4 Final), that I would work on setting it up.
Well, so far no success in activating it... Have tried changing network mode to CDMA/LTE and messing around with dialer codes, still can't get anything besides "emergency calls only."
Anyone have experienced getting this phone activated with Sprint?
Note: they did tell me they didn't have the exact, or "recommended," SIM card for my device, and that it was a secondary option they used in the system(?).

You need to get the Sim card part # that ends in 446c. I got mine at best buy for 10 bucks and it's currently working well with Sprint.

I am using that SIM, got it working when I reflashed stock. Did not work again when I restored RR, at least fully, as I was able to get data to work minus SMS/calls.
I'm on Sprint. No issues with any Roms.
You need to be on a stock build for the initial setup, because the custom roms remove all of the PRL stuff. Once it is setup once, flash whatever you want.

It doesn't stick after I flash a custom ROM
That's really odd. I don't have that problem...
Make sure you have APNs on the custom rom. I saw a problem a while back that the custom rom didn't keep the APN for some reason, and I had to put it in manually. Different device, but same problem.

Can you tell me what your APN info is? I have data and calling working now, but no LTE option (see screenshot)
I have mine set to global.
I had this same issue with my s6, and I ended up having to factory reset the phone, and redoing the PRL update, and the option finally came back.
Just to follow up, I was able to get full LTE and calls to work by flashing stock ROM, updating PRL, and by then it was provisioned on the Sprint network.
As it stands now, if I reinsert my MetroPCS sim card, it is provisioned for MetroPCS no problem, but I do have to reflash stock again each time I want to provision for Sprint.
So thats how I am going to run things for now, by making backups and getting it provisioned using stock before restoring.
this worked for me

theres an ap on the play store called apn backup and restore. install it on stock rom . b4 using it u need to go in system/apps and move the apk to system/priv/apps once moved changed permissions to r-w-r-r. after that a quick reboot and open app change setting to disable ics check and do a backup . once finished do the same thing on new rom and mine works flawlessly. im on boost which is also on sprint network. good luck hope this helps
