Wondered if you can flash the stock firmware (just vanilla android) on the Amazon bloated model.
THanks!

Bought an EE locked D802, I'd like to install the Vanilla 4.4 rom so I get any future updates direct from LG OTA.
I've done some reading and I can see I'll need to leave the stock recovery to get future LG updates.
Also want it SIM unlocked.
Are the steps;
1) SIM unlock from unlockcode247.com
2) Root
3) Install stock 4.4 rom (which is the UK vanilla rom?)
Anything to watch out for with the EE UK D802 variant?
Done?
Thanks.
hi
i purchased a unlocked at&t phone off ebay and it works fine but its on 4.4.2. i want to root and install new custom firmware based on the S6/7 rom - newest android basically that'll work.
What rooting guide should i use and whats the best rom to get it flashed to a UK based rom?
If you are on 4.4.2, do NOT take the OTA update. updating to the official AT&T Lollipop gets you an encrypted bootloader that is unlockable.
look for guides based on 4.4.2. you'll want to install a recovery, then you can flash custom roms.

Hi, I was wondering kind of the same thing as OP but with different G900 models. In my case, I would like to flash G900W firmware on the G900A. I assume this isn't possible?

You assume correctly
Bootloaders are different, blocking the install even if the hardware is identical
Other things like modems possibly too
There are 'custom' stock ROMs such as the G900T that are modded to be flashable on G900F etc, but you can not flash 100% untouched stock from one model to another

Would the installation of custom stock ROMs require root to flash? I believe the G900A that I have currently does not have a root for its 5.1.1 firmware.

It would require a custom recovery
It has been my understanding that in order for something to be installed in Odin, whatever it is needed to be signed by Samsung. If that's the case, how are there stock customized ROMs being made? There's one for vzw, tmob, and Sprint S7.
Because you can flash roms with FlashFire
I got a used GT-935T phone very recently in India, which was still running android 6.0. On browsing these forums, I found out that we could flash stock rom on it without rooting, so I did so using Odin. I flashed the stock rom of Android 7.0 for t-mobile 935T, which was what my phone was supposed to be.
Is there any way to flash stock rom of 935F or 935FD on my phone?
Is there any way to remove the T-mobile branding from my phone?

You can flash the U firmware (Samsung stock). No bloatware from any carrier, I've use it and is great. Do a search and you will find the firmware in the forum.
