Ok I really need your help now. My nook is suffering from PBD. The battery dies at 10 percent. In addition, the touslchscreen input gets very choppy, almost unusable at lower percentages. Also when charging and using it at the same time, the battery still drains. Im living in europe so I cant use the original wall charger, I'm using the one from my nexus s instead. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

May sound silly- get a travel piug converter kit. I believe the wall wart.can take 240 volts (but confirm that first.)

This is totally retardet. I searched the whole city and finally bought an all in one power adapter compatible with about 30 countrys and ridicolously huge (and expensive). A cheap usb charger with enough amper seems not to exist. Still I have this problem with the touchscreen acting somehow wierd at low battery. Whats wrong?

Hi, I wonder when you record video using tf300 in a quiet environment, could you guys hear high pitch sound? Mine has..

I confirm this, the high pitched sound can easily be heard. Shot some 1080p videos in a room and it's really annoying to watch them on a TV because then the sound is even more noticeable. Running stock rom, latest firmware.

Yah, really sad, this is definitely a hardware issue on the tf300.
Here's something I noticed:
If you have the transformer plugged in (charging) and record video, the high pitched noise is completely gone. But if you don't have it plugged in while recording, the sound is always there.
That interesting...

I'm wondering if there's anyone here that has the transformer tf300 that DOESN'T have the high pitched noise from their video recordings. If not, then I'm planning on returning mine

Checked on other forums, part seems like a lot of people are having this problem. One guy even replace his and with the new tf, still have the sound... Looks like this is a hardware issue.... But maybe there are something to donwith charging... When my tab on dock or plugged in there is almost no high pitch sound.

just had an idea. Get one of those mini portable battery packs (that you can stick a usb power cable into) and plug your transformer into the battery pack whenever you want to record video without the high pitch noise. Yes, it's a pretty inconvenient solution, but at least you'll be able to record good video with no high pitched audio until (hopefully) Asus rolls out a fix. Can anyone verify if this solution works?
My first TF300 didn't have the high pitched noise. Swapped it for another reason, and the next unit had it (both from the same store, in early june). Finally after months could not stand the noise anymore and sent it in for repairs. Device came back with the same problem, and as an added bonus, very loose upper right corner. Sent it back again. Should receive tablet in the morning (expecting same if not worse condition. Will keep sending until they fix the damned thing.
It's a hardware issues, and there will probably not be a "quick" fix unless they add some software audio filter for that specific frequency, and I doubt they will.

Well I can't be really sure it's a hardware issue because when it's plugged in (charger or charging on dock), the sound disappeared. Maybe they could increase voltage or something....
Well I made a poll to see how many people here has it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027045

Got my tablet back today. They seem to have swapped out the entire main board. The noise is still there, but slightly less noticeable. Don't know if it makes sense to keep sending the tablet back for this. In general the device is in much better condition than before... no creaking or loose corners, or anything. Except for the fact that the new main board seems to be prone to freezing and random reboots. Oh joy... I have to run some torture test and make sure if this is the case, and if it is... RMA again.
So, I guess in hindsight: don't fix it if it's not completely falling apart
I have one of those little AA battery usb chargers. I will test it and post results tomorrow.

The funny (not so funny really) thing is that to get around the first problem (high pitch), we're encountering another problem with the TF300. There's another thread here that talks about how the normal usb plugs aren't providing enough "juice" to the Transformer to properly charge it. Supposedly, you can take the ASUS cable but swap out the charger base that goes into the wall socket with another charger base and it will charge VERY slowly, but the ASUS provided charger is the only one that provides enough proper charge for now.
So- Tamaskan, your Sony battery might still be providing enough charge to cancel out that high pitched noise (even though it doesn't indicate that the tablet is charging). Have you tried testing the video with your Sony battery plugged into the tablet? Because it might still be enough.
And- To do a proper test, we need to get a battery pack that has enough "power" (I don't know if it's watts or amps, you guys would know this better than I ) to charge the TF300. The AA battery pack from CookieMonster sounds interesting.

Sweet :good:
So it looks like there's hope for a battery pack yet.
Here's 2 threads that talk about other transformers that needed compatible battery packs and here were there solutions:
Thread #1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924906
This is the battery pack the OP in the thread recommended.
battery pack
Thread #2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835904
If you're too lazy to check the threads (TLDR?), they also mention you'll need a Female to Female USB 3.0 coupler. This is the part they linked to:
Female to female coupler
I haven't had the time to verify that their models require the same specs that we require for our TF300's, but they mentioned something like 12V 2A is what they needed for their Transformers (reminder: these threads were not for the TF300, but other Transformer models). We just need to verify that it's the same requirements for us.
Pardon me if some of this is gibberish. It's almost 3am over here so I'm not bothering to proof this post. Just wanted to give you guys something to chew on.
Also- I just want the cheapest smallest battery pack possible. That way I can attach it to my tablet case and only plug it in to stop the friggin high-pitch noise if I want to record video. If you guys find a killer deal, please let me (us) know!

Looks like they can't fix it... Its like they don't even know how to solve the problems OR they just use a procedure from their stuff without really do some research. Since you still got ur warranty, keep sending it! Haha

And no difference with the Sony portable charger.... Still has high pitch sound. I think the asus charger gives more voltage compared to normal chargers and usb ports which has 5v. This may explain why it charges really fast even with a much powerful battery, charges slightly faster compared to my xperia u lol.

Yep. I intend to
Also, it seems that the new main board is indeed a complete failure. The tablet keeps freezing and rebooting constantly. Already RMA'd it, have been waiting for the courier for the past two days. At this point I don't even care about the microphone noise... Maybe that was their plan all along!

Yeah, I'd rather have a tablet with high pitched noise in vid recording rather than one that constantly have freezes or random reboots........ I bet the shop won't get bored seeing you now and then haha. But I've seen people with issues such as random reboots too..
Is it normal to hear loud static noise while my tab is plugged in, battery full with my headphones? And while plugged in charging, quieter noise, but still there?
Stock rooted Rom, latest 4.2.1 build, cwm recovery.
I hope it's not a hardware thing, but if it is I hope I can get it rma'd (how does it work? Thru Samsung? Bought originally on Google play, I bought from craigslist, have owners packing receipt). I also have a little light bleed..
Thanks

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001668
"If you plug in the headphones while charging is indicated, there is noise. Unplug the charger, the headphones or get to fully charged, the noise goes away."
It's similar except it gets worse or the same when it's fully charged.
And I found out if I turn up the brightness all the way up it goes away.

Hello. Just a few days into my Nexus 4 experience with Straight Talk. Loving it!
However, I do have one problem. Whenever I plug my phone into the car stereo via cable (headphone out to aux. in), I get a lot of shrilly interference. It's a mixture of a hum and high pitched noise. I didn't have this problem when listening to music from my Milestone X. My friend doesn't have the same problem when plugging in his iPhone. Just my Nexus 4. I currently use both PowerAmp and Google Play Music players.
Any ideas?
I'm running stock 4.2.1, rooted and unlocked.
Regards.
No one else experiencing the same issue?
I had no issues with mine, maybe you should try another adapter and see if you run into the same issue.

I'm just using a cord that plugs into my headphone jack and into the AUX of the radio. There's no interference when I use my old phone or my friend uses his iPhone. It's just with my N4.
You have a ground loop that is causing the audio garbage. Is your phone charging at this same time? If so, try disconnecting it from the charger.
Ground loops can be lifted in a number of ways depending on where the problem lies. If it is charger related, getting an isolated power supply to charge your phone will be the best fix. I use a 2 amp model from DaqStuff.
If it happens without the charger, the simplest fix is an audio transformer coupled audio cable designed specifically for this purpose.
I think we should probably just have one thread about general install issues. Lets do that here

I've actually not had much noise while the tablet is charging. But im only using a car charger to charge mine and not a DC-DC since my tablet has constant power. are you using a DC-DC converter?
I've had some noise with music as per my previous postings. I decided to order the Rockford Fosgate BLD Balanced Line Driver which also has a filter in it. My reasoning was I know my DAC was outputting on the smaller side for what my amp could handle so we will see if the filter in conjunction with the voltage increase will make for better sound.
On another note, anyone made progress with backup cameras, preferably using the Febon Grabber?
I'm using a car charger in 1 car, and a pico psu in the other. Doesn't matter what i use, i have tried 2 different usb chargers, multiple cables, a dc dc converter. It doesn't matter, at this point I mm thinking it is my tablet.
Subaru:
Pico psu, uca 202 dac, alpine ktp445u, no head unit
Buick:
Palm usb charger ( best i've ever owned), 3.5mm output, pioneer 740mp, no amp. My note2 works flawlessly in this car.

Not sure if I should just order usb isolator like hifimediy sells or a new dac with one built in. Kinda sick of buying parts
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
Yea I would be interested to see if that fixes the issue.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
Im guessing it will, a normal ground loop isolator will fix it too, but it shifts the noise into distortion on my tweeters. So that really isn't fixed imho.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
I also had some problems with ground loop, but i think i've fixed it.
After i have tested the DAC by plugging in a headphone, i noticed that the noise didn't come from the DAC itself, but from the analog part on the output.
I'am using an amplifier in the trunk that is very near my DAC, i just used an usb extension cable from the usb hub (near the nexus) to my amplifier in the trunk.
then i only use an 15 cm rca cable to connect the dac to the amp (high quality rca cable) and my noise is completely gone.
I just kept the analog part as short as possible and it worked for me.

I tried the drok converter, that wasn't the problem. The problem is in my lte nexus 7.
I don't remember noise when I had the wifi only, so it is probably something to do with the radio and the charging circuit, or I just happen to get a subpar charging circuit. Either way my noise is originating in the nexus internal circuitry.

Btw, figured out how to program my m3-atx the other day. It now shuts down after 7 seconds, i couldn't get it to go shorter than that, it allows my amp to turn off before my dac so no more popping on start or shutdown!
Just need my usb filter and i can finally mount everything. Hopefully it shows up before the weekend.
Last thing to do will be to program tasker and a few nfc tags.
